Geek Lab: You and Me

Hello!!! It’s Donna here and I’m very excited to be back on the CK Design Team!

For my first post and project, I will be sharing a layout using the April 2017 kit, “Jellybean”. 

I love the foiled word arts in some of the papers and that’s the first inspiration on this layout.I didn’t plan to have a monochromatic layout, honestly. I ended up choosing teal/blue with black colors so that’s what I went with.

I fussy cut the words you + me (and later on couldn’t find the “+” cut out so it didn’t make into this layout).

I adhered the floral cut files using gel medium. Then I used watercolors (blue, black) and PITT pencils to color the cut files. I started with the light blue colors first and then mixed the black watercolor later on, creating a grayish blue shade.

I also used watercolors as ink to stamp the word “love”. Scattered it around the layout. The stamp is from Latina Crafter. I scattered the hearts and stars from the foam word stickers by Freckled Fawn. And did the same with the black enamel dots from Freckled Fawn as well.

I have a problem with my printer but good thing I got this 1 photo printed correctly. I didn’t want to just throw the rest away so I used them and layered them like you see here. I also love using layers of messy thread to add a bit of texture

I distressed the edges of the paper in the middle a little bit after cutting about half an inch to make it a little bit smaller. Then I used the blue/green stripe patterned paper as a mat.

Yearbook – Family fun

Hello, it Leeann today and I have a wonderful page to share with you all. I am slowly scrapping our #pearcefamilyadventage from 2014. I am enjoying going through all the photos and remembering our family travels. So many amazing places and time spent together! Some days I wish we were still moving about and exploring this great country. If ever the opportunity comes your way you have to do it!

I created this page using the “La dolce vita” June Kit I love all the tabs and tags in this kits and all the sequins too! I had fun layering them here.  I love using alot more photos on this pages to help tell the story. This is us in Coober Pedy, South Australia. So much to see and do here famous for opals and also mad max movies. Going out to the moonplains and breakaways was so awesome too. I can see how easy it is to get lost out here.  The colour was amazing!

I hope you were inspired to grab out some travels photos and get them all on the page. Created you own background if all the papers weren’t working. This is a great way to get stuck into all the tabs and tags in this kit!

Geek Lab – Confetti fun

Hello it’s Leeann here today and I have a super fun page to share with you all using the Origins Kit and also the Origins April printables. I wanted to have a wee bit of fun this time round and so I decide that I would use some of my punches that have been sitting around. I have an assortment of shapes and sizes. My idea come from the photo strip of the girls. I decide that it needed to be alot like there personality, a little bit of this and that… crazy/happy!

So lets get started.

First of all I printable this month April origins printables  – three times in three sizes.

 Next I gather an assortment of shaped punches.

Now for the fun part. Punch out as many shapes as you can from the April Origins printables. You can hand cut a few shapes too.

 

Once  you are happy with all your shapes, start by arranging your photos. Next start arranging your punches shapes. Once you are happy with your placement glue in place. Next grab the simple stories clear stickers and adhere in any white spaces.  I added some doodle scribble using a lead pencil. Next I add the enamel hearts from Bella blvd and also a few brads to add that little bit of detail.  To finish this page off I add flicks of black water color and curled the edges of the punched shapes.

Locker Room: Love

Hi Everyone!! It’s Maryám here, and I’m so excited to back to the blog. 🙂 Today I’m going to show a layout that I’ve created using the Limited Edition XOXO kit (you can purchase the kit, here).

The idea for this layout is create a “garland” under the photo, and for this I’m going to use the ephemera pack, stickers, and flairs, of course included in the kit.

After that, I’m going to put the title with Bella BLVD stickers sheet, and rub-ons from American Crafts, to say “Love friends”.

At the end, I added my journaling, some pink splatters, and black enamel dots around the garland.

Locker Room: Adventure

Hello!! Maryám here today to sharing with you another layout made with November “Tapestry” kit, and some add-ons of this month.

The first step is,  choose the photos and papers, or others materials to work in this layout.

I cut a butterfly and phrases from the papers included in the kit.

Finally, I added some splaters of black ink.

This is the result. I like this layout, because, is clean and simple, love the butterflies and I am in love with the colors of the Wildflower Collection by We R Memory Keepers.

Yearbook – Hello

Hello, It’s Leeann with you today, I hope you all are well and have been busy crafting after checking out the cliques blog each day. How amazing are all the inspiring projects that pop up. I hope you are in love with this months kit, I am! So today I am sharing this page with you. Today’s focus was all about scrapping more than one photo. I scrap heaps of one photo pages. But sometimes I have lots of pics from a special event or outing. This page  makes my heart happy as it features my family and my beautiful friends from Western Australia. We recently moved state and I just don’t get to see my best friends that I’ve known for a long time! So this is us hanging out in Melbourne seeing the sights. We all had so much to talk about and the kids loved seeing there old school buddies too!

 

So because I had lots of photos I wanted to be a little more creative with this one and because I am a circle kind of girl I chose to create a circle grid. Before I added my photos and embellishments  I added a splash of color using my watercolour paints. Waited for them to dry and proceeded to back each circle with pattern papers and other embellishments from the Tapestry kit.

 

 

and here are a few detail shots. You will notice I layered lots of the embellishments and sprinkled the mini hearts like confetti. Added some doodling around each circle for extra detail.

Art Studio – Water Color Designing

Hello CK fans, It’s Leeann with you today and I’m super excited to be here too. I love using watercolors  on my creations. You will notice splashes of color from some sort of medium on my pages always! This page was created using the Clique kit  November tapestry kit. This kit is just so delicious and I was sold as soon as I saw the color navy… right now I am in love with that color! So lets get our watercolors out and have a wee play.

Lets start with a blank piece of card stock and paint some random circles using our water colors. We want 3 colors and 3 sizes. Allow to dry and cut out.

I have scrapped my page onto a black piece of white cardstock. So lets start with that as the base. All you have to do is paint lines down one side of the cardstock. Allow each line to fade before dipping back into the paint. Once you are happy with your painted lines. Place the circles on your page. Now we want to blend the colour from circle to lines and create a spill pool, add a few flicks of watercolor too. Allow to dry.

 

For extra detail grab some stamps and ink, stamp randomly. This adds extra detail.

Once everything has dried. Scrap your page. Isn’t it so much fun adding mediums to your pages. I like that it’s totally up to you how heavy or light you want to go. This is a great way to start out if this is your first time using mixed media products. And remember there is no right or wrong way…its all about having fun and telling the story!

Yearbook: Snow 15′

Hi Everyone! It’s Maryám here again. 😀 Today I’m going to show you a second layout I’ve created with the beautiful November Kit called Tapestry.

For the background I used a sheet of white cardstock, and for the title I used Dear Lizzy Gold Thickers included in this kit.

The Lora Bailora flairs are so beautiful and perfect at everywere.

The photos and journaling of this layout are from my latest travel at the snow. I’m in love with the trees and the beautiful white mountains.

It was a very funny travel. I need visit this place again.

Art Studio: Life

Hello everyone, Maryám here!!! I am so excited  beacuse this is my first post in the Clique Kits Blog. 😀 Today I’m sharing with you a layout that I’ve created with the November Tapestry kit.

For the title I used Amy Tangerine Words Thickers available in the Clique Kits Store, and I used watercolors and gesso to create a background, it’s super easy to work.

I’m in love with the We R Memory Keepers – Wildflower Stickers, I think this is my favorite thing of the kit hahaha.
