November Pep Rally

pr-image

This month Clique Kits is trying something new as part of our monthly celebration of our current kit creations and the reveal of the next month’s kit. While we really loved the idea of a monthly blog share, we realized that today’s paper crafters are trending toward  Instant gratification such as Instagram for inspiration! Like everything new, we expect to run into some snags along the way. But basically how it works is very simple.

Subscribers are  eligible to earn free product credits for participating in the Pep Rally via Instagram. Participation is a very relaxed commitment on a month by month basis. Simply email marketing@cliquekits.com by the 15th of the month to have your credits recorded. Subscribers may earn 5 credits (1 credit=$1) for each month they participate. If you end up not participating- we  lash you with wet noodles. (Kidding.) We simply skip over your points that month. Credits are cumulative as long as you are still a subscriber! Sound good so far?

What do you do once you sign up? This is really straightforward too. We hope this step by step instruction covers what you do,  who is eligible to win a prize, and what the prizes are.

Step 1: Take pictures of projects you created using the monthly kit (please use a minimum of 80% kit and add on products so that the inspiration provided for the Clique is kit-focused.) You can do this anytime during the month- but be sure your photos post before 10 am CST on  Pep Rally Day.

Step 2: On or before Pep Rally day, join the event on Facebook and Instagram by sharing on Facebook with your friends and tagging them on Instagram letting them know that each name tagged is entered to win a free kit!

Step 3: Use the Instagram search tool with the keywords specified in the Hashtags and enjoy the eye candy! Leave some love for all your friends!

Step 4: Tune in to Clique Kits for announcements of the monthly Pep Rally participant winner selected to win an additional $10 product credit to spend in the Clique Kits store!

And without further ado, here are the hashtags.  The first 3 are the same every month. The last two will obviously change each month.

This Makes Me Smile

13719750_10206587473060803_1810682039379444486_o
Hello Clique Kits fans! Today, I want to show you a double page made with the Swan Lake kit… and my first video (I promise, I’ll be better next time!).

Over the next months, I’d like to add more journaling to my layouts, because I feel I need to share lot of stories. This one is about my son who loves to dress with Halloween costumes all over the year.

mleluc-november-lockerroom

I’ve used the black This Makes Me Smile paper, as a guide for my sketch. This phrase is so perfect for my picture. Then I used the yellow dot paper to complete my layout with a bright color. This is were I’ve placed my photo and as you will see in the video, I’ve layered quite a lot of ephemera from the kit to frame my photo.

mleluc-november-lockerroom2

I printed my journaling over only half a 8 1/2 x 11 page.
This allowed me to have enough space to add a reminder of the left papers. It’s also where I’ve decided to put the title vertically. I’ve played with the stripes of papers to complete the left page.

mleluc-november-lockerroom3

You cannot see it in the video, but the word “Memories” is made with stamps.
That was the perfect solution to complete my title with the word Gather from the Maggie Holmes Chipboard Collection.

mleluc-november-lockerroom4

Before adding some little drops of paint, I’ve colored the K from the This Makes Me Smile, as my son first name is Kerwan. And as a reminder, I’ve colored the word “memories” as well.mleluc-november-lockerroom5

Now time to watch the video. I hope you will enjoy it.

Some of you may be a little shocked by the “mistreatment” of the unicorn. I sincerely apologize for that!

Have a great day,

Discovering trees in Quebec

13620781_10206587473740820_8517805441817073738_n
Good morning!
Today, I want to show you a page of my travel notebook. It’s not an actual travel notebook, as I don’t speak about traveling around the globe. But it’s a notebook in which I like to write my precious moments of life. And last month, I had one of these…

mleluc-november-fieldnotes5
My sister visited me (a total surprise!) from Europe for a few days and we had fantastic moments together. I had not seen her for three years… it’s a long time!
One of the characteristics of my sister is that she loves trees (“arbres” in French). She loves to learn all the different species. She had a fantastic time discovering that the species were so different than in Europe. And I’ve learned a lot during her stay.

mleluc-november-fieldnotes

As the picture shows it, I used the left page to explain how I’ve loved to discover my own environment with fresh eyes. I used the Post Card die cut, as it was perfect to write down this memory.

mleluc-november-fieldnotes2

I added a big tag on the right page. This tag indicates all the trees we have seen during her stay (with their latine names). And then I used the leaves die cuts that I love so much.

mleluc-november-fieldnotes3

As there is a touch of gold on the leaf and that leaves looks like gold in fall, I added some gold touch (like the title, the washi tape in the middle and the little drops of ink).

mleluc-november-fieldnotes4
I really love the result! And I hope you will feel inspired by my notebook!

Project Life – My process.

yearbook

Hello Clique friends! Enza here with you today with a Project Life spread created with the gorgeous Swan Lake kit. The exclusive cards contained in the November kit are so beautiful and inspiring! They made it easy to put this spread together.

ck-swan-lake-kit-main

My approach to Project Life has changed over the years. I have tried to do it weekly, but that did not last very long. Although I would love to document our family’s adventures on a daily basis, I also find it very time consuming. Especially because I enjoy the embellishment process too much 😉
I have tried themed spreads, such as birthdays, holidays, specific events, which definitely helped in terms of time, but also did not say enough about our stories. The best way for me to keep up with Project Life and still have fun with it is by doing it monthly.

Here is the spread I’m sharing today:

egudor_oct29_yearbooklayout

I know, I know, I’m a little behind, but this spread came together so quickly, I’m confident I’ll be able to finish my 2016 album in a timely matter. At least, that’s my hope 😉

The Swan Lake kit this month includes exclusive Project Life cards that match perfectly all the other colors in the kit. I love the soft pinks and pretty aquas, but also the bold blue of the 3×4 card below and the Jillibean Soup tag included in the kit. They add more interest and a different texture to the page.

egudor_oct29_yearbooklayout_closeup1

There is so much to choose from. How fun are these Dear Lizzy chipboard letter stickers and the little frames from the Maggie Holmes “Moments” paper?

egudor_oct29_yearbooklayout_closeup2

Not to mention the gorgeous floral and ephemera pieces.

I enjoyed creating this spread. You can head over to the Clique shop to subscribe and get this awesome kit and all the other goodies in the store.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day!

XOXO, Enza

Yearbook: Let’s Get Lost

blog-image_yearbook

Hi friends! A few weeks ago, I went apple picking with my family at Larriland’s. Who would have thought that picking apples would be so much fun. It was nice and relaxing and it helped ease my stress level being outdoors. I love this photo that my sister took of me picking apples. And I love how this layout turned out. It I totally me. It has my favorite colors, all in one layout; mustard yellow, blue and green with a touch of pink.

I cut the tag out from the paper and tied some string around the whole to add little home-spun look to my layout. Then I used a pen to add a little bit of journaling and since I didn’t feel that I included enough journaling, I decided to use the word stickers to finish my story!

Geek Lab – Vellum Envelopes

geeklab

Hello there! Caroli here and I’m so happy to be posting on Clique Kits blog again, this time using beautiful November kit Tapestry.

Today I want to tell you about one of my fave tools ever: my Envelope Punch Board by WRMK. I love envelopes and vellum, so I thought it would be great to make some and use them on a layout.

As you may know, making a envelope is super easy using this punch board, I made mine in seconds and used vellum because I love the transparent look of it and it, also it will look great if I put things inside the envelope.

Here you can see the layout I made using my envelope. I chose a simple grid desing and tried to add some decorative elements to make it more interesting.

cliquekits_tapestry_geeklab_carolischulz

Here there are some closeups of my layout; I used also some vellum for diecutting leaves, which added to the floral look of it. Don’t you just love that blue floral patterned paper? I do!! 🙂

cliquekits_tapestry_geeklab_carolischulz2

I used the gold Thickers from the add-ons as my title, I love how well they combine with all the floral-romantic look of this kit. I used the lyrics of my fave song these days

As you can see, I used the vellum envelope for storing a card with a lovely message and some gold hearts, love the effect.

cliquekits_tapestry_geeklab_carolischulz3

Hope you like the idea and try using more envelopes in your layouts, they are such a great way of storing messages, hidden journaling or little trinkets on your layouts. Have a lovely day!

Locker Room – A Teeny Tiny Mini!

blog-image_locker-room

Hello again!  It’s Melissa and I’m back today to share my second project (and a tutorial) with the gorgeous November Kit “Tapestry”!   A couple of years ago I was at a local church fair, and on the of the stalls was selling second hand goodies.  I couldn’t believe how blessed I was to find a little gold photo album that was only $1!  After two years of waiting for the perfect photos, I decided to use it to document apart of a road trip we took in July (our Winter).  We stopped off at a special place called Moeraki, it’s a beach and it has these amazing naturally formed boulders that are scatted on the beach and into the sea.

Here is my tiny album, and my very simple embellished cover.  I just used a piece of the Cedar Lane 6×6 paper and one of the exclusive printables, which I made into an epoxy flair.

Nov Mini7

Of course I have to show you how chunky it is!!

Nov Mini11

Here is a tutorial on how my mini came together with the amazing November Kit and add-ons.

  1. Gather your supplies – this is super easy because the kit is fully coordinated, and perfect!
  2. Prep3Select your photos.  I made a collage on Picmonkey.com so that my photos would be small enough for the album.
  3. Prep1Make a template with a piece of white cardstock, then hand-cut around the template (because my pages were so small I didn’t want to be measuring and cutting on my trimmer).
  4. Prep4Select a paper to use for journaling and filler pages.  I used the ledger paper from the main kit.
  5. IMG_4430Place all of papers and photos into the album in the order you want them.  This sets you up for quick and easy embellishing and journalling.
  6. IMG_4429Embellish and journal and the album is compete!  Below is my inside title page, which I kept very simple.  The doily is from my stash, and the mist is Heidi Swapp Colour Shine (in gold and seafoam).

nov Mini title

Here is the same spread from step 5 above, but completed with embellishment and journaling.

Nov Mini5I’m so happy to have this day recorded.  My 18 month old keeps wanting to look at the “book”, she seems to think it belongs to her!  To see the entire album you can watch my walkthrough video below.

Thanks so much for looking, I really appreciate it!

Art Studio – Water Color Designing

blog-image_art-studio

Hello CK fans, It’s Leeann with you today and I’m super excited to be here too. I love using watercolors  on my creations. You will notice splashes of color from some sort of medium on my pages always! This page was created using the Clique kit  November tapestry kit. This kit is just so delicious and I was sold as soon as I saw the color navy… right now I am in love with that color! So lets get our watercolors out and have a wee play.

CKNOV_lpearce_ARTSnov3

Lets start with a blank piece of card stock and paint some random circles using our water colors. We want 3 colors and 3 sizes. Allow to dry and cut out.

CKNOV 015

I have scrapped my page onto a black piece of white cardstock. So lets start with that as the base. All you have to do is paint lines down one side of the cardstock. Allow each line to fade before dipping back into the paint. Once you are happy with your painted lines. Place the circles on your page. Now we want to blend the colour from circle to lines and create a spill pool, add a few flicks of watercolor too. Allow to dry.

CKNOV 019

For extra detail grab some stamps and ink, stamp randomly. This adds extra detail.

CKNOV 023

Once everything has dried. Scrap your page. Isn’t it so much fun adding mediums to your pages. I like that it’s totally up to you how heavy or light you want to go. This is a great way to start out if this is your first time using mixed media products. And remember there is no right or wrong way…its all about having fun and telling the story!

Now you can check out the finished detailed shots.

CKNOV_lpearce_ARTSnov3detail1

I hope you have fun here today and come back soon for so more…

Clique Kits November Kickoff

Prom Committee

IMG_1182

IMG_1184 IMG_1183

Happy November everyone! It’s Gia here ready to kick off a new month in the Clique! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween- if you celebrate those festivities where you live like we do here in the U.S.A. If you celebrate Dia de los Muertos, have a peaceful day of remembrance! I decided to create a layout to get everyone in the mood to switch gears from Halloween to Turkey Day! Are you all ready? Those of you beyond the U.S borders-even better-because you know what’s next…the December Holidays!

This month’s kit, Tapestry is a beautiful kit featuring the We Are Memory Keepers Wildflower Collection. I fell in love with the collection not only for the rich colors, especially those blues, but also because of the artistry behind the paper patterns. First, they are all hand painted and scanned, rather than designed digitally, which is special in and of itself. Second, several of the patterns have a textile batik and tye-dye look to them-so textural and adding so much interest to use in our papercrafting! Add to that the botanical motifs-floral patterns and butterflies, plus all of the handwriting and brush script -it really is to die for. You are going to be overwhelmed with inspiration on this blog from our amazing 2015-2016 Varsity Design Team. I know I am!

Now I have a really exciting announcement to share with you all ! And this is just a sneak to give you an idea of what is to come in the new year.

Clique Chapters

You all know that Clique Kits is more than a store, more than a kit club, we are a global community. We have almost half of our design team members from around the world, and we welcome subscribers from anywhere we are able to ship to. We cherish the international members of our community! We feel everyone is important, and valued, and it really grieves us to see how much people have to pay, how long they have to wait, and sometimes the feeling of being left out from opportunities because of where they live. So, as always, the leadership team is always brainstorming ways to improve and ways to be more inclusive and to provide more value for our subscribers. We are planning to introduce a NEW concept for the coming year! CLIQUE CHAPTERS! Here are some of the ideas behind this new idea!

  • Existing and new subscribers will not only be part of the worldwide Clique, they will also be assigned to a local “Chapter” depending on where they live: US Pacific, US Heartland, Eastern US, Canada, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, Down Under, Middle East, and South America. If we need additional chapters, we will add them, but these are the ones we know of right now!
  • Chapters will have their own exclusive regional designed products and digital downloads available to them.
  • Chapters will be featured on the blog on a rotation so members will have a chance to spotlight their work and also share more about their geographic location with the Clique. We want to know everything about your region-from the food, language, culture, landscape, and more!
  • Do you live in a city with 2 or more Clique subscribers? Do you want to save on shipping? With Clique Chapters, members living near enough will have an opportunity to sign up for Chapter shipping discounts.
  • Moving forward, we hope to be able to hold local events for our chapters led by local members and Design Team members such as workshops, crops, and pop up shops reaching out to our members where they live. We also hope to tailor your buying experiences based on your regional needs. If there are crafting items not available or prohibitively expensive where you live, and the Clique is able to provide them to your local Chapter by pre-order, we would like to be able to fill in those gaps for you, by adding to your box!
  • Chapters will have the opportunity to vote on their own fun Chapter names and start their own social media groups and chat rooms, exchanging contact information etc in order to bring each other even closer together as a community!

We hope you will be as excited about this new concept as we are!

Don’t forget that our annual Limited Edition holiday kits are available in the store at pre-order pricing right now-get yours now while supplies last because when they are gone they are gone!

12038711_436133006571540_8125305792000530960_o 12140001_436943549823819_8373366515120612171_o

Can’t wait to see what you all create this month! Don’t forget to share on facebook and Instagram. Hope to see you in this month’s Pep Rally Blog Share! Untl then..

Hugs!
