Wild at Heart Planner with Evi

Hello Clique Kits lovers!  Evi here, and I have a very floral planner spread using the Wild at Heart collection from Cocoa Vanilla in the June 2017 kit.  I love the rich navy colors mixed with the pinks, magenta, mints and corals in the collection.

I used the cut apart sheet for cutting out the perfect sized rectangle needed to fill the entire space in my MAMBI inserts.  My inserts are from my HAPPY planner 365 but I dislike the disc system and punch holes to put in into my Carpe Diem binder from Simple Stories.

The ephemera die cut pack comes in the kit and I picked out all the lovely florals to add the details to my spread.  I wanted to make sure I featured all the rich colors in this collection on this spread.

The butterflies are also a nice detail in this collection.  I wanted to incorporate the small positive affirmation pieces too.  ‘Dream Big’,  ‘This makes me Happy’, and ‘Memories’ add nice text to the layout.

I added in a few details to my week ahead of time with a pink, blue and aqua colored ink pens.  The rest of the space will be added as the week goes on.  I hope you are inspired by my layout and try a version of your own.

Field Notes – My Personal Journal

CK- Field Notes -traveler notes - header

Hello Clique Friends!

Nathalie here bringing you a few entries of my personal journal created using the beautiful ( it is truly a gorgeous!)  Aquarelle main kit.  This month’s kit features  Cocoa Vanilla’s “Wild at Heart” collection which is full of florals, watercolor motives, and lots of beautiful designs.  If you haven’t checked the Aquarelle kit, yet, then you better run to the Clique Store to pick the few available for sale.

sneak1

Did you know that there is a large library of cut files and printables available for purchase at the Clique Store?  I happen to visit the store, and combined the  printables from the September 2015 kit with the the Aquarelle kit to create a spread about this year’s NSD. Here is  a small video on how the page came together:

The picture (of the day) was enlarged to fit into one of the pages of the TN (4.25×8.25 in).  After gluing it to the page, I added a few pieces (Pinksfresh Studio Alphas, and CK printables)  of the Aquarelle kit to the picture.

CK_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL 1_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017-2

Since the picture has plenty of white space at the bottom, it was the perfect spot to add a few lines about the day’s experience.

CK_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL 1_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017-3

To balance the page, the large sentiment card in the September 2015 exclusive printables was machine sewn to a piece of white copy paper -cut to the TN’s page size- .

sept. 2015

One of the  small tabs was then glued to the card to complete the page, and stamp the date.  Here is the final spread:

The next entry in my personal journal uses the Double Dot paper included in the Aquarelle kit, along with some of the exclusive printables, and Pinkfresh Studio’s Nico stamp ( unfortunately, this stamp has sold out in the  Clique store).   Here is a detailed video on how the spread came together:

This spread was so easy to create.  First, I found the center point of the TN page, and used it to cut a large triangle (that will cover the other page of the TN) out of the patterned paper.

CK_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017-5

The title for this spread was created on the paper covered page using a combination of  stamps (Pinkfresh Studio’s Nico alpha, and Simple Stories Faith roller stamp), and the Pinkfresh Studio alphas included in the kit.

CK_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL 1_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017-4

A few simple exclusive printables was all that was needed to complete this page, and balance the large triangle on the spread.  After a few lines of journal, and a  few more sentiments added with the roller stamp in  Faded Jeans ink -Distress Oxides- , the page was completed.   Here is the final spread:

CK_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL 1_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017-7

Both pages were created in a really small amount of time (between 10-15 minutes), and I love the different looks, I was able to achieve with the Aquarelle kit, and the CK printables.

Remember to visit the Clique Store to check all the exclusive printables, cut files, and most materials used in this pages.  You can use the DT codes to receive a discount at checkout.  As always, I am a comment away if you have any questions on how this came together.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Art Studio | Gift Packaging

art-studio

Hey friends – Stephanie Gold here with you today! I really fell in love with the June kit and I wanted to show you how versatile it really is. So for my Art Studio post today I put together 2 gifts using this month’s Main Kit, Aquarelle, to wrap them.

IMG_4265-imp

For the first package I used a medium white clothing box and wrapped it in the entire 12 x 12 piece of pink ombre pattern paper. I layered a large doily from my stash and the sweet lace die cut in the top left corner. I did a typical present wrap + using natural twine on the entire box and then tied a bow and added a bit of deep purple lace. The tag is made from the cutout library card, a floral frame, and a cutout (and cut up!) sentiment.

IMG_4261-imp

IMG_4273-imp

Isn’t it so beautiful all finished and wrapped?! And to think it just started as a simple white box.

IMG_4268-imp

My next gift started as a small brown kraft jewelry box that I made a wrap around the top using the deep blue floral pattern paper (this might be my favorite paper from this month’s kit!!). I used a smaller doily to add some country flair in the top left corner and did another, slightly different, twine wrap. I put together a mini tag using more of the ephemera and attached it to the gift using a mini clothespin. Ah, I’m obsessed.

IMG_4271-imp

Well that’s it for me today!!! Have you ever used your kit to wrap up some gifts?! Let me know if you give it a try!!

Xo, Stephanie

Designer in the Spotlight – Sheryl Banares

Hello everyone!!  I am super excited to introduce you to our  Designer in the Spotlight!  She has been a member of the Clique for sometime now and recently became one of our newest members on our Graphic Design team!  This month she designed the June journal cards that are included in your June Kit and even some of the exclusive cut files!

Our Designer in the Spotlight  has taken some time to answer our fun Q&A to share with all of you today!  Please say hello to Sheryl Banares!

1. Tell us a little bit about your creative process. I love creating where I feel comfortable at that moment, it can in the kitchen or in the living room even on in bed sometimes (when I’m super lazy). I don’t force myself to think of how to make a layout. I just sit down and start scrapping whenever I feel like it.

2. Where and when are you most creative? I don’t like scrapbooking at night because my lighting is terrible so I mostly scrapbook on daylight. My layouts are often inspired from pinterest, that’s where I like to search for random stuff when Im bored.

3. What are some of your must have supplies? scissors, zig glue pen and double sided tape.

4. Who are some of your influences? I’m a graphic designer so I meet a lot of creative and interesting people that are inspiring me everyday and let’s not forget the amazing scrapbook community we have on Facebook and youtube, there are lots of talented woman that truly inspire me.

5. 3 things people probably do not know about you. – I love korean dramas! (be aware! super addicting once you start) – I’m learning russian, since my fiancee’s family speak mostly russian. – I play the guitar, ukulele and keyboards.

6. Favorite: !

Book- It ends with us by Colleen Hoover !

Movie- Phantom of the opera (2004) and Titanic ! Candy- Coconut chips !

Drink- Coffee!! !

Music- anything 90’s 🙂 !

Color- light blue !

TV Show- anything with action and suspense- NCIS, Criminal minds.

7. Can you share what helps you break out of a creative slump? I love taking a walk, listening to music and riding my bike.

8. How long have you been design and what inspired you to get started. I’ve been scrapbooking for 4 years now. I started scrapbooking when I accidentally saw a process video of someone on Youtube and ever since my world became colourful and scrapbooky (I think I just invented a word)

9. How would you describe your style? My style is very much colourful and heavy embellished, I love taking my time when I’m creating the layouts. I add sometimes mix media and some stitching.

10. Can you share with everyone the places where they can connect with you such as your blog, Instagram and website. Blog- http://www.sherylbanares.com Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/sherylbanares/

11. What are your predictions for the new trends? I think we’ll be seeing more colors that we usually don’t see in scrapbook collection like purple, neon colors and some gold rose foiling, maybe even metallic colors with abstract designs.

Sheryl thank you so much for being our Designer in the Spotlight!!  I am sure our readers are looking forward to more beautiful designs from you!

Thank you for stopping by our blog today!  To get your hands on some of Sheryl designs you can grab a June Clique Kit HERE in the shop or head on over to our Digital Shop and purchase some of her cut files!  Have a wonderful day!

Geek Lab – Shine Like the Stars

Blog Image_Geek Lab

Hello scrappers and welcome back to the blog! Today I have a fun layout to share using the June Aquarelle Main Kit. I am in love with the colors in this kit – from the soft blue tones to the watercolor accents. This kit is stunning!

Here is the layout I made using this fantastic kit along with the exclusive Clique Kits “Shine Like the Stars” cut file to serve as my title.

6 lo

I love using cut files as a way to create interesting titles and accents. And to be honest, I am sort of a lazy scrapper and I rely heavily on tools like cut files as a short cut to creating fabulous layouts!

I cut this digital cut file using my Silhouette Cameo (suitable to cut with other electronic cutting machines such as a Cricut). Because of the delicate detail of this file, I adjusted the cut settings in Silhouette Studio to a speed of 2 and to a thickness of 31. This ensured that the middle words “like the” would cut without issue.

IMG_6916

I initially cut this image on dark blue card stock but I just didn’t like the look of it once I placed it on the layout. I wanted the cut file to mimic the navy blue watercolor accents that are featured in the die cuts and frames that I used on the layout. To remedy this, I cut the file a second time on white American Crafts Textured Cardstock and painted the cut file with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors to create a navy blue ombre effect.
IMG_6917

I used extra water to spread the paint, starting with a dark shade of navy blue at the bottom of the cut file and working my way up.

IMG_6919

Once I finished painting the image, I used a heat tool to dry the cut file. When the cut file was completely dry, I adhered it to my layout using Tombo Mono Aqua Liquid Glue.

IMG_6922

The result is a stunning title that coordinates perfectly with the accents featured on this layout!

2 LO

Using cut files is a simple way to add high impact to a scrapbook layout without much effort!

3 LO

Once the title was in position, the remaining accents of this layout came together rather quickly.

Haven’t tried a Clique Kits exclusive cut file? Wait no more! Head on over to the CK store, download a few cut files and give them a try! Until next time, make it a great scrappy day!

Share Your Space with Evi

Hello Scrapbook friends!  It’s Evi and I’m here to share my creative space with all our viewers.  I have been fortunate enough to claim a room in our apartment for years and now a room in our new home.

Lets start off with my desk.  I actually have two identical desk from Ikea and I arranged them in an ‘L’ shape in a corner.  I have two sets of the five draw Alex draws from Ikea as well.  I keep my inverted tripod permanently on one desk that I use for filming my process videos.

All my draws are filled with all sorts of scrapbook supplies like my punches, stamps, inks, mists, glitters, watercolors, wood veneers, markers, acrylic paints, and extra mixed media supplies.  On top I keep all of the ready to use supplies.

Along my long wall, above my desk, I have my collection of art pieces I have collected throughout the years.  I have an obsession with dogs (doxies in particular) and collect colorful pieces that inspire me with I gaze up.

Beside my desk I have stacked cubes from the Recollections line at Micheal’s.  These cubes used to be on top of my shelve when it laid vertically but I have done some recent re arranging.  These draws hold ink for my printer, printer paper, embellishments or sorts and my collection of 12×12 paper.  My Ikea Kallax shelves hold all my albums, paper pads, magazines and photo boxes.

I am also a LuLaRoe consultant and the opposite wall from my desk holds a double installation to house all my inventory for my small business.  Everything is hung according to style and in size order.

My Raskog Cart from Ikea holds all my 6×12 alphas and sticker collections.  I have multiple glues, pastes, gesso, paints and all my mixed media supplies are housed in it.  I love the card cause I can wheel it to and from the side of my desk when needed.  I have my additional tripod always ready to go and my mannequin to run my LuLaRoe business.

On top of my desk I have a fruit basket that holds most of my washi collection.  My Silhouette Cameo and a roll of glitter, a mail holder that contains all my scraps of patterned paper, I have a peg board for more washi and tones of cups and jars holding pens, pencils, paint brushes and palette knives.

I keep small dishes as well to keep the last bits of die cut packs and ephemera in.  Tiny jars hold flair buttons, enamel dots and buttons.

I love my scissors, ATG gun, fine liners and last details readily available.  They all sit close along with with heat dryer, hot glue gun and paper trimmer.

Kobe keeps me company in my office all the time.  There he is, he’s so cute.  Thank you for stopping  by today.

Yearbook: Celebrating Mother’s…

When I first saw the June kit, Aquarelle, I fell in love with the mix of florals and geometric prints!   The colors also reminded me so much of my mother, and I had the perfect photo in mind from last mother’s day.  Somehow, on Mother’s Day last year, my mom and I ended up making everyone else brunch….we stopped and looked at each other and said, “Wait, why are we doing this?”.  I guess it’s just what mom’s do!

I started with the pinkish watercolor background paper and added some gesso and mists.  Then I layered small squares of patterned papers, 3×4 cards, and vellum from the kit in a loose circle arrangement and stitched a circle with teal thread.

Next I cut one of the exclusive cut files for this months kit from white cardstock and layered it over the circle.

A few more scattered bits from the die cuts/ephemera pack and a title with the Pinkfresh copper colored alphas to finish the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Clique Agenda: September Planner Page

Happy Monday scrappers! I’ve just spend the past hour searching through my purse for my notes and  reminder cards for upcoming dental appointments for the month of September. If I don’t write them down, I will forget. My memory isn’t as good as it used to be. LOL

This month, after I finished creating the layouts I wanted to make using the June Kit, I decided to use the leftover scraps and die cuts to embellish my planner page for September.

I used adhesive to adhere two cards back-to-back from Clique Kit’s exclusives to add to my planner page. The “You Don’t Have To Be Perfect To Be Amazing” sentiment inspires me! Love it. I used gluedots to adhere the “She Belongs With Wildflowers” sentiment to the other card with the words. A girl can never have too many inspiring quotes in their planners to get them through their days.

Each month, not only do I write down dental and doctor appointments, but I also include things such as water plants, laundry, clean the kitchen etc. to keep me on track.

If you’re looking for a few fillers for your planners, check out the Clique Kits Shop, we have a variety of embellishments to help you get your plans started!

Thanks for visiting today,

-Nicole

Field Notes | Cutfile Cards

field-notes

Hey everyone! I want to share some cards with you today that I actually made a bit ago using an incredible cut file that was free to download with the May Challenge – you can find it here.

IMG_4162-imp

So I actually downsized the cut file a bit so it would fit better on my cards and cut about 3 or 4 different pattern papers from it using the June Kit.

IMG_4163-imp

For this card I adhered the little triangles closely together onto a piece of cardstock and then trimmed it down and used it as it’s own layer when putting my card together.

IMG_4167-imp

And for this card I actually followed the exact format of the cut file and adhered each triangle directly onto my card base in specific places. I love how different both of the card designs ended up! 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic weekend! 😉

Art Studio: Hannah

Art Studio

Aloha!! It’s Hannah with you today. I can’t wait to share my layout with you. I have been really playing with my mixed media products lately. Maybe it’s all the color coming back with all the spring flowers that is making me want more color on my pages.

I am using the June Aquarelle Kit which features the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Wild at Heart Collection.

june kit

This kit is so dreamy. It reminded me of my Lilac bush that is now just starting to sport blossoms. That really was my inspiration for my layout today. I would say 80 % of the time my photos or things around me in which make me take their photo inspire me and then make their way to my layouts.

IMG_5777

I started off by trying out brush script so I could make a home made cut file and title. I cut them out with the Grow Wild paper from the main kit. I love this dark color with pops of pink and blue flowers. Even though it doesn’t really have purple in it I knew it would work well with purple.

IMG_5856

I also cut out the May Challenge cut file that Maryam designed. I love the triangle design and it is so versatile. I also really wanted to use the cut file like a stencil for some mixed media. Cut files are a really good to have stencils. You just have to remember that if you cut it from paper that if you use really wet media it could rip the paper or seep through or under the stencil.

I watered down some acrylic paint in purple, and dabbed the paint brush so it looked like lilacs a little. I did this 4 or 5 small spots on the 12×12 white card stock. I also added another piece of card stock underneath my cut piece so that I would have the top part and negative space of triangles.

IMG_5861

I knew I wanted to use the top piece that was cut but I could save the other piece for another layout design. Since I already have my media out and it needs time to dry this saves me a little bit of time down the road.

IMG_5854

I used some Shimmerz Pasteez in Puttin’ on the Glitz and Raspberry Sorbet in splotches with my palette knife to create texture. Then sprayed some of the Coloringz on my mixed media areas. I really want to build layers of media in these spots. This is the key to getting great mixed media layouts. I let my media air dry, I didn’t use gesso on this layout and more water or liquid absorbed into my cardstock. If I used a heat gun that would make my paper warp a lot more than it will if I let it air dry over night.

It really is hard to wait for it to dry, which is why I like to do my media in stages. It helps me feel like I got something accomplished when I sit down in my scrap room.

IMG_5860

Next I used my Acri-tonz and dropped the Navy and White on my background. I really love the texture and dimension this paint has when it dries. Also this bottle is perfect for squeezing and dropping the perfect size dots over my layout.

To add a little more texture on my layout I added lots of stitching on my photo and on the side of my layout. I love how this zig zag looks over the side of the photo and through the exclusive printable from the Traveler’s Notebook Kit. The white gel pen pops off that black. Layered with some copper thread, the exclusive flair and main kit exclusive printable adds a nice cluster over top one of my mixed media spots. the media is peeking through the lines of the layering and really brings out the color of the lilacs on my photo.

IMG_5862.jpg

I think my favorite part of this layout is this title with all the different fonts. My own brush script turned into a cut file, the cut apart from the patterned paper in the main kit, and the copper alpha’s from Pink Fresh Studio all with some stitching through them. It just adds that statement I was looking for.

I started the title with more exclusive printable banners and some of the Add-on enamel dots. I also ended the title with the Maggie Holmes puffy hearts from a couple months ago.

IMG_5863

With a little extra thought you can use your mixed media to tie into your kit and make a unique and awesome layout. Use as much or as little as you feel comfortable. Play around and see what exclusive cut files make the best stencils. With your creative imagination the sky is the limit!!

I hope you check out the Clique Kits Store and see all the amazing mixed media products you can add on to your June Kit. Use my code Hannah10 and you can get a 10% discount too.

Have you subscribed or checked out the Traveler’s Notebook Kit too?! it is just as dreamy as the Main Aquarelle Kit.

Thanks for sticking around with me today. I hope I have inspired you to get a little messy in your scrap space!!
