Art Studio | Right Now

art-studioHello Clique friends!

Today, I am sharing a new project created with the beautiful “Jellybean” kit, and one of the exclusive cut files included in this month’s kit; I think the entire DT is in love with this cut file, not to mention the colors and patterns in the kit!

CK_Apr17_Kit17

This project is the happy result of the fusion of scrapbooking and Bible Journaling,  as it was created inspired by the  beautiful cut file, the colors in the kit, but above all Psalm 9:1, “I will give thanks to you , Lord with all my heart;  I will tell of your wonderful deeds”

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_APRIL 2017_RIGHT NOW

To frame the beautiful flowers cut out, I chose to go all artsy,  and use a combination of watercolor, ink, stamps and gelatos to create the background of the page.  Using the packaging technique, some green ink was spread on the page.  A little bit of gelatos was then smeared on the  page using some water and watercolor.  Once all these dry, I used the new Altenew’s Daisy layering stamp, that can be found in the Clique Store – to add just a few of the outline  of the leaves.   I have created  a small video on how the page was created, so sit and enjoy!

I hope you like the video!  As you can see, even when i mistakenly  smeared ink on the page, the beautiful flowers (created with the exclusive cut file and Paige Evans’ Oh My Heart collection  paper #14  -both included in the Jellybean kit- ) cover a large amount of the background, so the big smeared just becomes a hint of color under the flowers.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_APRIL 2017_RIGHT NOW-2

I created this page after working on my Bible journal,  and since I had just taken the picture for an updated head shot, i used the page as  a ways to journal about me and what i am thankful for.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_APRIL 2017_RIGHT NOW-5

For the title, the beautiful wood piece in the Jellybean kit fit this layout perfectly.  So i simply added a thin layer of gold acrylic paint, and then gold embossed the letters for that added shine in the page  ( i love the end result!).  Here is the final layout:

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_APRIL 2017_RIGHT NOW-4

I am happy with the end result of this page (even when the subject of the layout is me!).  The inspiration i found in combining my Bible journey, the Jellybean kit and color soothes my soul.  I hope you like it, too!  If you are not a subscriber, there is still a few a la carte Jellybean kits available, so don’t forget to check the store.

I am always  a comment away if you have a question on how this came together.

Thanks for stopping by!

Yearbook: You go girl

Hello!

It’s Donna here for my last project using the April “Jellybean” kit.

ck-apr17-kit4_orig

Here is my scrapbook layout I made for today

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout03

I wanted to use the “You go girl” word art cut file so bad but I was stumped which photo to use (adding that my printer isn’t working yet so I had to choose from the ones I’ve already printed). I try to remember the stories behind each photos and I decided to use this one photo of my daughter slumped on the floor with lots of Hello Kitty shoes. We were there to buy shoes but it’s not the kind we were looking for at that time. She wasn’t even two yet when this was taken and she knew what she likes already and kept on saying “Kitty” while gathering ALL the HK shoes she can find. So I focused my journaling on how I wish she grows up to be a strong-willed individual who knows what she wants in life.

Good thing I cut the word art already before my printer broke. But I used a plain white cardstock. Since the Silhouette studio software is still crashing when I try to open on hubby’s computer, I had to use my good old scissors to cut around the paper that I used as backing. I did this twice since I wanted to use this colorful Bella Blvd paper and the polka dot Paige Evans paper as well. I adhered the white cardstock first and carefully cut around it, alternating my scissors and sharp cutter. Then I adhered it again on the polka dot paper. I used a thin cardboard to add a bit of height to the big title.

I love the colors in the kit but I need some black to somehow “balance” the look I’m going for. So I used the b/w bag which stores the embellishments in the kit. And then I used the polka dot vellum paper to make a little paper clip bow.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout03a

I doodled randomly as well using my PITT pencils.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout04

I used mists/paints to create splatters. You can find similar products in the store especially the April Product of the Month Acri-Tonez Shimmerz Paints.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout03e

I maximized the remaining doily from the kit by cutting it in half.

That’s all from me today!

Happy crafting,

Clique Agenda: April planner spread

Hi! Donna here for the third time in a row this week and I hope you’re not yet tired of me. For today, I am sharing how I setup my first two weeks of April using the Jellybean kit. I used my A5 Prima planner which is my planner for all my design team stuff.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-Planner01e

I started by coloring the alpha stickers with watercolor. This is pretty fun to do, just color the letters you want to use so it’s not that messy. Let it dry first before unsticking the alpha stickers so it won’t tear.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-Planneralpha

Then I cut a strip of patterned paper and adhered to the inner edges of the insert where you cut the holes. I also used watercolor to add some colors to one of the doilies I used in my spread.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-Planner01c

I turned one of the flairs into paper clip as well as one of the flowers in the pack

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-Planner01d

I also made use of the journal cards as you here in the image below.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-Planner01b

Notice the stamped words? Since I don’t have a nice pink ink available, I used watercolor instead. (The little one decided she likes to turn the poor stamp into teeny tiny pieces.. RIP to my one and only pink ink lol!). Just a bit of water, almost dry brushing watercolor onto the word in the stamp (like coffee and love) and gently stamp on to the surface. The stamps I used were by Latina Crafter.

That is all from me today!
Thanks for dropping by!

(Note: Date stickers not included in the kit. It’s a digital file I printed and cut with my Silhouette Cameo)

Happy crafting,

Field Notes – My Personal Journal (TN)

field-notes

Hello there!

I hope you are enjoying all the projects that the beautiful April kit, “JELLYBEAN”, and that they are inspiring you to use every single piece included in the kit.  The papers, embellishments, and the exclusive printables are so versatile, and perfect to use in all kinds of paper projects.

CK_Apr17_Kit4

I have kept a journal throughout my entire life.  The format has transformed to the years, but once I discovered Traveler’s Notebooks a few years back, i have been hooked on them.    I try at best to make at least a daily entry on my journal, it works as my PL format.  This month, I have loved adding bits and pieces from the JELLYBEAN kit to my journal.

CK_Nathalie DeSousa_April2017_My Personal Journal-3

This month’s challenge sponsor is Latina Crafter; their stamps are just gorgeous.  I was lucky to receive this beautiful wood veneer stamp  (MUCHAS GRACIAS,  LATINA CRAFTER), which i used to create the background on one of my TN entries.

CK_Nathalie DeSousa_April2017_My Personal Journal-4

Using archival ink, I stamped then Latina Crafter’s image at opposite edges of the TN’s page, and a small piece of white card stock.  Once I placed the picture on the opposite page,  I used the stamp card stock to create a small arrow that tied the two pages together.  The PL cards included in the kit, and the exclusive printables are just perfect when documenting in this format.

CK_Nathalie DeSousa_April2017_My Personal Journal-5

My next entry is all about my kid’s first day of Spring Break ( we survived!!).  For this entry, I  used the small scraps of the Oh My Heart paper #  to cover one side of the page.   The large PL card, included in the Jellybean kit, was then glued across both sides of the TN – I simply cut the card with the paper trimmer, and glued it to the TN-.

CK_Nathalie DeSousa_April2017_My Personal Journal-2

Once again, I used this month’s exclusive printables to add interest to the page, and the small letter alphas from Elle’s Studio, included in the kit, are just the perfect size for this entry.  I am always trying new ways to journal on my pages; this time, I chose to write along the edge of the page!.

CK_Nathalie DeSousa_April2017_My Personal Journal-6

Finally, the last entry i am sharing with you, is just a fitting example of how versatile the  JELLYBEAN kit is,  and how easy is to document in a TN format.   Once again, I picked  the last piece of the Impossible paper -included in the kit-, and covered one side of the TN.  The beautiful ephemera pieces from the Make Your Mark collection  serve as the sentiment and embellishment on the page.

CK_Nathalie DeSousa_April2017_My Personal Journal-7

By using the TN on a landscape format, I was left with  a large space to add my journal lines (this entry is all about me, and how happy my DSLR makes me!).  I balanced the page, by adding some of the ephemera pieces, and a sentiment fussy cut from the cut-apart paper from the JELLYBEAN kit.

I hope these all serve as inspiration to take a look at Traveler’s Notebooks, and how to use the JELLYBEAN kit when documenting in this format.  TNs are versatile, and work for many different types of memory  keeping/ planner/ art journal.   Make sure to check the Clique Kits  store to find the kit, and the many TN kits they are always curating.

As always i am just a comment away, if you have any questions on how any of these came together.

Thanks for stopping by!

Yearbook: Be Impossible To Forget

yearbook

Hello Crafty friends!

Happy Spring to everyone!   Today,  I wanted to share with you all a new project created with the beautiful Jellybean kit.   This kit has the most beautiful papers from Bella Blvd.’s Make the Mark collection, as well as Paige Evan’s Oh My Heart collection, and it is full of embellishments that complement the papers.

CK_Apr17_Kit14

We all have special ways to mark the height of our kids as they grow.  My choice has always been to photograph them against a fixed reference.  Last summer as we took the littles (my niece and nephew) to the fair,  they all had to be measured before going on the rides.  Finally my daughter (now 14) reached the adult height requirement, and the littlest also reached the height to be able to go on the rides.  To mark this growth spurt, I simply photographed their bracelets showing the milestone.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_APRIL 2017_BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FORGET-4

I was drawn to the words on the Impossible paper from Bella Blvd. -included in the Jellybean kit-, and I knew the title was going to be formed by fussy cutting the words out.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_APRIL 2017_BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FORGET-3

The background for this project was created using a heart cut file (#65661) from the silhouette store.  The patterned papers used to back the cut file all came from the Jellybean kit, I simply followed the color palette of the Impossible paper (that is what is so wonderful about these kits, all papers are curated to work harmoniously together)

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_APRIL 2017_BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FORGET

I love this kit so much, I set to use a piece of each of the goodies included in my little pizza box from Clique Kits, even the doily (and I am not a doily person! 🙂  ) Here is the final layout:

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_APRIL 2017_BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FORGET-7

I have created a small video on how this layout came together,  just sit down and enjoy!:

Aren’t the colors in the Jellybean kit just amazing?  I hope this has inspire you to find  a creative way to capture your kid’s growth, and a fun way to document it, too.  Remember that you can find all the details on this kit, and add ons on the Clique Kit Store -there is always new goodies available at the store-.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Break Rules | Stephanie

field-notes

IMG_3847-imp

Hey loves! Stephanie Gold here with a Traveler’s Notebook layout made with this month’s Jellybean Kit that’s speaking to my soul right now. 😉

IMG_3848

So I was cracking up as I made this because my hidden journaling was basically all about YOLO… wait… don’t click exit! I swear there’s a point to this haha. Now I am NOT one to use that saying as it sounds ridiculous to me in all honesty however, I find I actually appreciate it’s sentiment in certain terms.

IMG_3850

I want to live my life to it’s fullest and not dull it down just to play it safe. I’m not saying we should all go out there and start base jumping and cliff diving (although if that’s your thing, go for it!), I just want to encourage all of you to get out of your comfort zones and do something you normally wouldn’t for the sake of being courageous, outgoing and adventurous in your goals!

IMG_3852

So go out there today and be a life warrior!! If I can support you, let me know how! Much love all!

Xo, Stephanie
