Art Studio | Right Now

art-studioHello Clique friends!

Today, I am sharing a new project created with the beautiful “Jellybean” kit, and one of the exclusive cut files included in this month’s kit; I think the entire DT is in love with this cut file, not to mention the colors and patterns in the kit!

This project is the happy result of the fusion of scrapbooking and Bible Journaling,  as it was created inspired by the  beautiful cut file, the colors in the kit, but above all Psalm 9:1, “I will give thanks to you , Lord with all my heart;  I will tell of your wonderful deeds”

To frame the beautiful flowers cut out, I chose to go all artsy,  and use a combination of watercolor, ink, stamps and gelatos to create the background of the page.  Using the packaging technique, some green ink was spread on the page.  A little bit of gelatos was then smeared on the  page using some water and watercolor.  Once all these dry, I used the new Altenew’s Daisy layering stamp, that can be found in the Clique Store – to add just a few of the outline  of the leaves.   I have created  a small video on how the page was created, so sit and enjoy!

I hope you like the video!  As you can see, even when i mistakenly  smeared ink on the page, the beautiful flowers (created with the exclusive cut file and Paige Evans’ Oh My Heart collection  paper #14  -both included in the Jellybean kit- ) cover a large amount of the background, so the big smeared just becomes a hint of color under the flowers.

I created this page after working on my Bible journal,  and since I had just taken the picture for an updated head shot, i used the page as  a ways to journal about me and what i am thankful for.

For the title, the beautiful wood piece in the Jellybean kit fit this layout perfectly.  So i simply added a thin layer of gold acrylic paint, and then gold embossed the letters for that added shine in the page  ( i love the end result!).  Here is the final layout:

I am happy with the end result of this page (even when the subject of the layout is me!).  The inspiration i found in combining my Bible journey, the Jellybean kit and color soothes my soul.  I hope you like it, too!  If you are not a subscriber, there is still a few a la carte Jellybean kits available, so don’t forget to check the store.

I am always  a comment away if you have a question on how this came together.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday School: Right Now by Evi

Hello lovely scrapbook ladies!  Thank you for joining me for Sunday School blog post.  I am playing with the April 2017 Jelly Bean Scrapbook Kit.  I am scrapping two smaller photos of me and my Doxie, Kobe on a walk recently.  I started out with cutting out the flowers of the Bella Blvd Make Your Mark, Magnifique.  These flowers are large and colorful which is totally my style.

Once I gessoed my card stock, I did the packaging technique with Mint colored mists and yellow.  I then used the current flower cut file, available under the Varsity Team, and cut it on pink card stock for an added layering effect under the flowers.

I used black embossing on the wood veneer from Fancy Pants and made my title “Right Now” pop off the colors of my layout.  I then added one of the words from the Freckled Fawn pack, ‘Amazing’ above my title.  The black pops off of both against the colors of my background.

I then started adding elements from the ephemera pack from Bella Blvd.  I love the flair in the kit, and decided on the yellow ‘She’s Crafty’ flair and nested it on yellow thread.  I also used the yellow swan exclusive piece in my cluster in the lower right area.  Enamel dots from Freckled Fawn were added for color and contrast.  All pieces are available in the April kit.

Thank you for joining me for todays post.  I hope you have had an amazing weekend.  ~Evi

Faith Art Journal Page | Stephanie

sunday-school

Hey hey hey! Steph here again… sick of me yet?! 😉 For Sunday School today I focused on this verse from the Bible:

“Create in me a pure heart, O Lord, and renew a steadfast spirit in me.” – Psalm 51:10

I decided to put together an art journal page for this one so I started off by painting the base of my page using different shades of blue.

2016-11-27-1

Next, I cut out a piece of the butterfly pattern paper and adhered it to my page. Then I used the same paints to blend the paper in slightly.

2016-11-27-2

I cut out a bunch of the squares from another one of the pattern papers and gathered the similar colors of a few of them. I lined them up and adhered them to my page.

2016-11-27-3

I painted the edges just like the butterfly paper so they blended in a bit as well. Next I used the big black alphas to write out the word “HEART” on my page and used a teeny bit of paint to again, blend it in.

2016-11-27-4

I wrote my verse around “HEART” and painted a little tab from the December Wonderland kit to have a bit of color at the bottom and then I adhered it at the top of my page.

This was so much fun for me. It was such a laid back approach to Bible Journaling and made it a little less intimidating.

Thank you for spending some time with me today!! What verse are you reflecting on right now? Have a wonderful week everyone! Much love!

Xo, Stephanie
