Summer Gift | Stephanie Gold

IMG_4706-imp

Heyyyyy again all!! Stephanie Gold here, back with another project using the incredible August Travelers Notebook Kit >>> get it HERE!!

IMG_4708-imp

I wanted to show you all another super fun way you can use this kit so I put together a little gift card holder with coordinating tag.

IMG_4710-imp

This mini envelope was made using a piece of the 6×6 pattern paper from the kit and a We Are Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board (this thing has changed my lifeeee). I accented the front of the envelope with a couple cut outs, one of the see through stickers and the clear paper clip.

IMG_4709-imp

For the tag I layered two different papers cut in different tag shapes and stacked them with the ephemera. That flamingo was meant to wear sunglasses don’t you think??! A small bow of black and white twine tops it off.

IMG_4714-imp

And finally to pull my whole project together I wrapped the finished envelope with many loops of twine and attached the tag. Cute right?! (I’m obsessed.)

Thanks again for stopping by!! Much love and happy crafting!!

Locker Room | THE OCEAN IS CALLING

CK- Locker Room - header

Hi Clique Kits fans!!

I am back today with a new project using the beautiful MALIBU TN kit,  what can I say, the Pink Paislee’s Summer Lights collection is gorgeous, and all the add ons are perfect to document summer, and those special beach adventures.

Malibu TN kit

I love this kit, and it is ideal to document some of the pictures from our beach adventures down in Ecuador.  Here is a small video on how this page came together, so sit down and enjoy!:

The starting point for this layout were the exclusive cut files from last year’s summer and August kits.  Once I had cut them on white cardstock, i wanted to add color to the page, something very summery and bright.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_THE OCEAN IS CALLING

Using a combination of heavy acrylic paint, i dragged the paint across white cardstock, and soften the look of the streaks with a large brush, and a baby wipe.  Then stitched the page to one of the Elle’s Studio papers from last month’s POOL PARTY KIT.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_THE OCEAN IS CALLING-4

The ring cut out also was sewn to the page, and then i used the Pink Paislee papers from the Malibu TN kit to back the flower cut out.  I love the rich colors in the papers, and how they contrast beautifully against the bright background.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_THE OCEAN IS CALLING-5

The flowers were then attached to the background using a bit of foam adhesive.   I positioned them so that they were framed by the long leaves from the ring cut out.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_THE OCEAN IS CALLING-6

I added the long leaves from the Fancy Pants  Hello Sunshine ephemera pack included in this month’s kit.   The title for this page comes from Pink Paislee’s Summer Lights ephemera pack -which can be found in the Malibu Main Kit -.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_THE OCEAN IS CALLING-7

The picture of my daughter admiring the sunset over the Pacific Ocean fit into this page seamlessly.  A few of the embellishments from the kit, and the sticker sheet available at the Clique Store create the cluster on the page.  After a few sprinkles of gold ink, the page was completed:

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_THE OCEAN IS CALLING-3

I love this page, the colors of the papers in the Malibu TN kit matched the bright green color of the background, and bring the eye to the subject of the page.  It was so easy to complete the page using the  kit, and a few of the exclusive cut files available at the Digital Store.  There is a lot of goodies available at the store, so take some time to visit it to check them all out.

Remember to contact me, if you have a question about how this page came together.

See you all around!

Hey friends! Stephanie Gold here and I have a fun travelers notebook layout for you today. First of all… I swear I say this every time but, have you seen the new travelers notebook kits yet?!! Because they are the. best. I adore them.

IMG_4688-imp

Everything in this kit makes me swoon. I sincerely adore the bright yellow alpha stickers and the ephemera and the insanely cool rubbery, see through stickers… I mean… it’s all just gorgeous.

IMG_4689-imp

So the picture I really wanted to document here was from a trip to Maine we took for a few weeks this summer. This is my hubby and I enjoying the summer time and each others company and we just had such a blast together on this trip (kids were there too just not in the pic ;).

IMG_4691-imp

I hope you enjoyed this layout and I can’t wait to see what you have been making with this kit!! Thank you all so much for stopping by!

Field Notes | My Travel Journal

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to share with you a few of the entries of my journals created with this month’s MALIBU TN kit.   The colors of the papers from the Pink Paislee’s Summer Light collection are dreamy, and perfect to document all those vacation, and every day moments.

Malibu TN kit

As you all know, our family took a long vacation to Ecuador, which means there are plenty of memories to document.  Though i brought some supplies with me,  and actually managed to document a large number of our adventures, there were those days, that only got sketched in hopes to finish the page once i  got to all my supplies.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL

This is how one of the planned pages of my travel journal looked like  down in Ecuador.   As you can see I penciled all the story on the right of the page, and actually used the Imaginisce stamp (available at the Clique Store for $1!) to add some hot air balloons to the other page of the tn -most of this pictures were taken on the Gondola ride and up on the mountain at 4100m above sea level, so the air balloons fit the mood-.  Since there were so many pictures taken, i wanted to create a collage for this post, which meant that it will have to be finished on my return home.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL-5

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL-3

Upon receiving the MALIBU TN kit, i fell in love with one of the papers -since it had this soft blue stripes on it-, as it reminded me of the sky’s color.  First i stamped the image at few times on white paper, cut them, and set them apart for a bit.  Then using some watercolor, I created a blue background on top of the stamped images, and glued the newly created images on top  (this cover all the smudge color inside the air balloons).  Next I pulled some of the cloud chipboard stickers from the MALIBU main kit and attached them here and there.  The title was then created using the Pebbles alphas from the POOL PARTY kit.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL-6

My idea to create the collage changed as the  paper was added to the other side of the TN. Instead, i opted to use LR to create picture strips which were glued to a piece of vellum cut to fit inside the TN.   I folded about 1/4 in on the long side of the vellum so that it could be glued to the tn.  A few CK exclusive printables were then added to the strips to bring some interest to the pictures.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL-7

Since the papers in the MALIBU TN kit are 6x6in, and my TN’s length is of about 8.25in, i had to be crafty to complete the page – i cut some small strips, and added them in the middle of the page.  To hide the seam, the journal of this outing was then wrote on plain copy paper with one of the Prima Neon pens, included in this month’s TN kit,  and then trimmed, and attached to the center of the page.  I really like how easy it was to incorporate the MALIBU kit into my Travel Journal, but it was a pleasant surprise to see how versatile the kit is when documenting every day moments.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL-8

I love how versatile all CK kits are, but i want to show you how easy it was to document the aftermath of  my vacation on my Personal Journal.  Since the house was a mess from unpacking all the bags, I opted to convert the picture to black and white.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL-11

Next I matted the picture with a piece of one of the papers from the MALIBU TN kit, and glued it to the TN insert included in the kit.  I fussy cut some of the words, and images from the Pink Paislee papers, as well as the CK exclusives to create the cluster on this page.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL-10

Though unpacking is never pleasant, i chose to add cheeriness to this memory by combining the tissue paper (that the kits come wrapped with) with this month’s printables, and alphas included in the kit.   The color combo matches that of the picture, and brings the spread all together.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_AUGUST2017_MY PERSONAL JOURNAL-9

AS you can see this month’s MALIBU TN kit is not only gorgeous but versatile, too.   It can easily be used to scrap all those special summer/vacation memories, as well as those simple every day moments.  Remember there is still a few TN subscriptions available, so take some time to visit the Clique Kits website to check all the kits and exclusives.

I am a comment away if you have any questions on how these came together.
See you all soon!

Yearbook with Hannah

3

Aloha!! It’s Hannah here today.

Do you you ever have a story to tell that needs lots of space for journaling but you also have a bit of photos you want to use to highlight your story? What do you choose to do? This is where my brain says double page layout. I really like to give the photos room to breathe and leave lots of space to handwrite  my story without worry that I will run out of room.

I know double pages aren’t all that popular anymore. We often have this concept in our mind of what they should look like or we are worried about filling all that space. If they aren’t your jam, that is fine too. I also want to remind you the cool thing about allowing your story and your photos come together to fit your style and rearrange how you think double pages can look like.

IMG_9013

I used the Malibu Main August Kit to make my layout today.  I also am cutting each side to 8 1/2 by 11. I am thinking this change in size will be a nice change in my album but also not feel so daunting as I feel the space.

I start with 2 pieces of white card stock, I like to start off with something empty and crisp. I edged one side with some bright purple chalk ink. I wanted to add a touch of color because I knew on the first side I was using the gorgeous sunset water paper.

IMG_9014.jpg

I am not gonna lie, this paper is gorgeous and it saddened me to cut it down, but I knew it really would fit my spread better this way. One this first sheet I stitched some weird zig zag stitches. I carried it through to the other side by adding a strip of the sunset paper underneath it.

IMG_9012.jpg

Adding the stitching all the way across will tie the layouts together to help tell a cohesive story.

The photos from each side are from a different place, I wanted it to be contrasting against each other as well. I layered some papers under the photos on the second side.

The first side I layered some of the embellishments from the kIt together to fit nicely near the start of the title.

IMG_9016

The little squares from the speciality paper are my favorite. I used them all over my layout. IMG_9015.jpg

I really wanted my second page really simple so I could do my journaling on this page. I added a little bit of Shimmerz Creamez in pink and purple. The shimmer in the paint is so pretty but subtle that it really enhances the words that are written over top.

IMG_9011.jpg

I mixed thickers from the August Main Kit with leftover Thickers from last month’s kit. They work so well together and the both really pick up on the colors in this kit. I wanted my title to run across both sides of the double page spread. I wanted to make sure though, that when the pages were separate they could stand on their own too.

IMG_9018.jpg

I had fun adding the hologram phrase stickers through out the layout.

Here is a look at the full double page spread.

Goodbye Hawaii CK Footer.jpg

I really wanted my story and the few photos to do the focus. Little details like leaving room for the journaling and using my title to help tell my story really ties everything together.

Check out my process video and see me make this fun double page spread.

I hope that you are inspired to really use your photos and experiences to help tell your stories on your layouts. I also hope you share them online and use our hashtag #cliquekits so we can see your projects with your Clique Kits.

Field Notes- West Coast Mini Album

Hi there, Audrey here today to share a mini album (which I haven’t done in a LONG time!)

There is a piece of patterned paper in the August Kit, Malibu, from Pink Paislee that has polaroid like frames on it.  They just screamed to be cut out, and at first I was going to use them on a page, but I thought they’d be better put to use as a mini album!

For the inside pages, I layered four strips that were creased in the middle and then stitched on the crease to form a little book.

On the covers, I used two die cut frames from the ephemera/die cut pack and backed them with acetate. Then I added some sequins from the kit on the cover and covered over it with the frame. I did the same thing on the back.  The holographic alphas from the kit were perfect for part of my title!

For the inside pages, I simply added one photo to each frame and embellished it with bits from the exclusive printables, the die cuts, stickers, and chipboard.  I also used some washi tape from my stash to cover up any white areas.

After my layering was done, I stitched on each frame and glued them into the album.  The pages are simple, but the stitching adds a little interest and the colors just burst!

You can watch me make this album from start to finish here:

Thanks so much for watching!

Art Studio- Mermaid Hair

Hi everyone!  Audrey here to share another page I made with my most favorite Clique Kits kit EVER!  The August Malibu kit featuring Pink Paislee Summer Lights!

I find it easier to work with a kit when there are also amazing cut files to go with them!  I used this “Scallop” cut file that goes along with the August monthly release.  You can find it in the store HERE.

This file reminded me of scales on a fish (or mermaid!) and with the other mermaid elements in the kit also, I felt I needed to do a mermaid page.  I found this photo of my daughter on the boat and I loved her messy hair blowing in the wind, her smile, and her purple life jacket that went perfectly with the colors in the kit.

I started by adding some mists and inks to the background.  I cut the file from the ombre blue/purple patterned paper and added it on top. I clustered a few embellies on each side of my photo after I matted it with some patterned papers

.

I added a few hints of scalloped stitching, and of course the mermaid chipboard on the bottom right.  To help your eye move across the page, I added a thin strip of polka dot paper on the left side of the page.

You can watch me create this page from start to finish here:

Thanks so much for watching and enjoy the August Kit!

August Kick Off: Let’s Go to Malibu!

CK_Aug17_Logo-02

Hi everybody! It’s me, Gia. I know-long time no blog post. That’s why I am thrilled to be back today to celebrate my favorite kit of the year, on a day that just so happens to be my birthday!

CK_BlogHeader_Aug17-01

Yay! How cute is that flair by Maryam Perez! I love all of the talent and collaboration that go into the design of every single Clique Kit. How about those perfectly coordinated resin scallop shells? And the sequins in this months kit- Erica did an unbelievable job putting that sequin mash together. I am so excited for you ALL to get your kit- whether it is the 12 x 12 paper based main kit or the delightful on-the-go version-the Traveler’s Notebook Kit- this month we are taking you to one of the hippest places. Anywhere in the world is gonna feel like Malibu!

KIT2

Malibu TN kit

I have just two words right now that sum up this month’s fun twist! Holographic and Neon! It’s a little bit hard to capture the gorgeous holographic highlights in the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection in the photos- you will see what I mean when you get to hold it your hands!  When I first opened my box, I just wanted to eat it all up. Not to mention the TN Kit contains not one or two, but a WHOLE PACK of Neon gel pens from Kaisercraft. I kid you not this is like a birthday and Christmas all rolled up in one box!

Inspired by the Mood Board!

So the mood board by Lacey Gasper this month kind of jump started my mojo this month. I took one look at that giant scallop shell pool float and I thought to myself- I have to use that “look” on a layout. Take a look!

CK_Aug17-Moodboard-v2

Yes we have seen a lot of tropical motifs this past year- between flamingoes and palm trees and pineapples (and I am crazy about them all), but this scallop shell in luscious iridescent pinkish-lavender captured my attention as something refreshingly different!

IMG_0729

I searched up “seashell” in the Silhouette Design store and loved this one by Totally Jamie

I backed the cut with different papers from the 6×6 paper in the TN kit and stitched around the edges for some texture, finishing it off with some sequins for embellishment! Here are some close ups.

Kinda Wish I Was a Mermaid!

But the next best thing was seeing all of the fun mermaid stuff in the August spotlight collection to scrapbook photos of my darling daughter in her mermaid tail.

IMG_0732

This idea for this scalloped cut file was one of those Aha moments between Lacey and I to work with this month’s kits and I fell hard for  this GORGEOUS final design Lacey created! I know I will be cutting it again and again, but for this 8 1/2 x 11 layout I wanted the subtle white on white effect for the texture with bits and pieces of ephemera giving it the feel of water’s waves around an underwater mermaid’s lair.  (Don’t you adore that holographic seahorse?) Grab some puffy mermaid stickers right here while supplies last!

IMG_0733

Thanks for being here as part of this community! I can’t wait to see what you create!

-xoxo

Gia

Yay! Layout by Rachel Lowe:

Today I have my second layout using the gorgeous Malibu Kit and yes I am still swooning!

Despite it being winter here in Australia it is so fun pulling out last summers photos and reminisce!

KIT2

I totally fell in love with this sun cut file (July 17) and my creative process went from here.

IMG_5938

I used a phrase from one of the stickers in the kit (slightly altered as I wanted the word fun instead of good) and cut it with my Silhouette Cameo. I then backed the words with various colour papers from the kit. I added the word FUN using the silver thickers from the kit and an exclamation mark to add texture and visual interest.

I love creating embellishment clusters and I added one on the sun cut file adding the gorgeous exclusive flair and Colour Cast aqua palm leaf.

I then added another cluster at the bottom of my page, all girly things and adding the pretty pink acrylic shell.

I finished my layout off with  sequins and a emoji happy face sticker.

I chose to only attach the centre of the sun the rays would appear to be moving.

IMG_5942.JPG

I am not a fan of flat layouts so I tend to add elements of different heights or add foam tape to chosen embellishments.

IMG_5935

The sequins are just delightful in shapes and colours and adding them randomly to a white background page really adds some sparkle!

IMG_5941.JPG

Thank you for stopping by today and seeing another layout I have created with the Malibu Kit. I am on the look out to see what you are all creating!
