Locker Room: How to make a Shaker Card

Hello, Friends! Maryám here to share my last project using the beautiful Malibu 2017 kit. I still have a lot pieces from the kit, so I’m going to continue making more layouts with my kit. For today’s project, I’m going to show you how to make a shaker card.

I love shaker cards, and when I saw the beautiful sequin mix that came with the kit, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to do it.

Here is the card I made:

Here are some close-ups of the card: Don’t you think the sequins look perfect?

Here is the process video of my card. So, if you want to learn how to make a shaker card, please watch the video:

I hope you liked my project. If you have any question, please put them down below.

Have a wonderful day!

Maryám.

Geek Lab: Yes is more

Hello CK friends! Today I’m going to share a layout using the beautiful Agust 2017 Malibu kit. This month we have a lot of digital exclusives, and of course, I had to use them!

Here is my layout: I used the beautiful scallop cut file as my background and I backed it with the paper N° 10. After that, I put my photo, I created two clusters of embellishments around my photo, adhered my title and the journaling and at the end, I added some splatters and some sequins.

Here are some close-ups:

I hope you liked my layout. If you have any questions about my page, just let me know in the comments below.

Have a wonderful day!

Summer Gift | Stephanie Gold

IMG_4706-imp

Heyyyyy again all!! Stephanie Gold here, back with another project using the incredible August Travelers Notebook Kit >>> get it HERE!!

IMG_4708-imp

I wanted to show you all another super fun way you can use this kit so I put together a little gift card holder with coordinating tag.

IMG_4710-imp

This mini envelope was made using a piece of the 6×6 pattern paper from the kit and a We Are Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board (this thing has changed my lifeeee). I accented the front of the envelope with a couple cut outs, one of the see through stickers and the clear paper clip.

For the tag I layered two different papers cut in different tag shapes and stacked them with the ephemera. That flamingo was meant to wear sunglasses don’t you think??! A small bow of black and white twine tops it off.

And finally to pull my whole project together I wrapped the finished envelope with many loops of twine and attached the tag. Cute right?! (I’m obsessed.)

Thanks again for stopping by!! Much love and happy crafting!!

Everything in this kit makes me swoon. I sincerely adore the bright yellow alpha stickers and the ephemera and the insanely cool rubbery, see through stickers… I mean… it’s all just gorgeous.

So the picture I really wanted to document here was from a trip to Maine we took for a few weeks this summer. This is my hubby and I enjoying the summer time and each others company and we just had such a blast together on this trip (kids were there too just not in the pic ;).

Field Notes- West Coast Mini Album

Hi there, Audrey here today to share a mini album (which I haven’t done in a LONG time!)

There is a piece of patterned paper in the August Kit, Malibu, from Pink Paislee that has polaroid like frames on it.  They just screamed to be cut out, and at first I was going to use them on a page, but I thought they’d be better put to use as a mini album!

For the inside pages, I layered four strips that were creased in the middle and then stitched on the crease to form a little book.

On the covers, I used two die cut frames from the ephemera/die cut pack and backed them with acetate. Then I added some sequins from the kit on the cover and covered over it with the frame. I did the same thing on the back.  The holographic alphas from the kit were perfect for part of my title!

For the inside pages, I simply added one photo to each frame and embellished it with bits from the exclusive printables, the die cuts, stickers, and chipboard.  I also used some washi tape from my stash to cover up any white areas.

After my layering was done, I stitched on each frame and glued them into the album.  The pages are simple, but the stitching adds a little interest and the colors just burst!

You can watch me make this album from start to finish here:

Thanks so much for watching!

Art Studio- Mermaid Hair

Hi everyone!  Audrey here to share another page I made with my most favorite Clique Kits kit EVER!  The August Malibu kit featuring Pink Paislee Summer Lights!

I find it easier to work with a kit when there are also amazing cut files to go with them!  I used this “Scallop” cut file that goes along with the August monthly release.  You can find it in the store HERE.

This file reminded me of scales on a fish (or mermaid!) and with the other mermaid elements in the kit also, I felt I needed to do a mermaid page.  I found this photo of my daughter on the boat and I loved her messy hair blowing in the wind, her smile, and her purple life jacket that went perfectly with the colors in the kit.

I started by adding some mists and inks to the background.  I cut the file from the ombre blue/purple patterned paper and added it on top. I clustered a few embellies on each side of my photo after I matted it with some patterned papers

.

I added a few hints of scalloped stitching, and of course the mermaid chipboard on the bottom right.  To help your eye move across the page, I added a thin strip of polka dot paper on the left side of the page.

You can watch me create this page from start to finish here:

Thanks so much for watching and enjoy the August Kit!
