Field Notes- West Coast Mini Album

Hi there, Audrey here today to share a mini album (which I haven’t done in a LONG time!)

There is a piece of patterned paper in the August Kit, Malibu, from Pink Paislee that has polaroid like frames on it.  They just screamed to be cut out, and at first I was going to use them on a page, but I thought they’d be better put to use as a mini album!

For the inside pages, I layered four strips that were creased in the middle and then stitched on the crease to form a little book.

On the covers, I used two die cut frames from the ephemera/die cut pack and backed them with acetate. Then I added some sequins from the kit on the cover and covered over it with the frame. I did the same thing on the back.  The holographic alphas from the kit were perfect for part of my title!

For the inside pages, I simply added one photo to each frame and embellished it with bits from the exclusive printables, the die cuts, stickers, and chipboard.  I also used some washi tape from my stash to cover up any white areas.

After my layering was done, I stitched on each frame and glued them into the album.  The pages are simple, but the stitching adds a little interest and the colors just burst!

You can watch me make this album from start to finish here:

Thanks so much for watching!

Locker Room – Mini Album

CK- Locker Room - header
Hello everyone! Enza here with a mini album to share with you today using the beautiful July Pool Party Travelers Notebook kit.

The idea for my mini was to have a 2017 album with only one picture per month. I do this a lot. I use the same concept for my TN. I think it’s fun to look at random pictures and get a feel of how our life is/was during that given year. You will also notice there is no journaling. The reason for it is that I usually include the full stories in our Project Life albums. Sometimes I just want to look at pictures and pretty papers 🙂
egudor_July17_LockerRoom_Cover
The 4×6 cards from the Ain’t Life Grand collection included in the kit are just the right size. I started by cutting a few tag shapes from different patterned papers and adhered them back to back. I love how thick the papers are. There is no need to add extra cardstock in between the layers to make your pages stronger, which saves time and money 😉 Once all my pages were ready, I embellished them with a variety of elements. A mix of ephemera pieces, exclusive cut files and printables from the Clique store, and some stitching added that layered, unique look I love.

Here is the front:

Here is the back:

The alpha stickers I used were included in the June Aquarelle kit. The copper color coordinates perfectly with the Pool Party TN kit.

Some of the cut files were modified to fit the tag shape. Same idea was used for a couple of pictures, as well as the 3×4 cards that come in the kit. I just adhered them back to back, cut the top corners, and punched a hole to fit the other tags.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my process and will maybe use your Traveler’s Notebook kit to make a fun and colorful mini album.

Until next time. Have a lovely day!

Study Hall – Mini Album with Pinkfresh Studio Felicity Collection

studyhall

Hey everyone!  Erica here with you today to share a mini album using the Pinkfresh Studio Felicity collection that you can pick up in the Clique Kits shop!

13346731_515705911947582_5111570105600854069_n

I love this collection and thought it would be perfect to document when Sandy came to Illinois to visit!  Mini albums are my favorite thing to create and I love chunky little books filled with  memories!  I used some thick Bazzill cardstock to create my base pages and added the pattern paper to the cardstock using my Tombow liquid glue!  I love how the album turned out and there is still room for me to add some tags with journaling!

13240616_515700435281463_8968886641518255476_n

I love the Felicity Die Cut pack and how  many die cuts are in each pack!  After embellishing my album I still have so many left for another project!  The puffy stickers are also super cute and add some dimension to my album!

The CUTE die cut word above is from the Crate Paper Wonder Cardstock Die Cut pack and I used a few from this pack in my mini album!  They are fun and big and I love them!

13312800_515700408614799_7334601671130298993_n

I made this sequin pocket with some gold sequins from the shop and the wood venner from the February 2016 Hot Mess kit!  I had some clear pockets in my stash that worked perfect for this mini album.  Since I do not have a fuse tool and did not feel like pulling out the needle and thread I closed the top of the pocket with some Bella Blvd Bloom washi from the CK Shop!

I made sure to add some of the beautiful Bella Blvd enamel hearts in my album as well!  The Clique Kits shop has some beautiful colors now available!

Above you will see another one of the pieces from the Crate Paper Wonder Die Cut pack!  This one is a wood veneer Love piece and it is super cute!  You can also see that I used some Acetate to give my album a different texture.  The acetate is from our Limited Edition XOXO kit and goes perfect in my little album to help make it nice and chunky!

Yearbook : Documenting Our Family Today

Blog Image_Yearbook

Hello there! Caroli here and today I want to share with you a very special mini album I made using the beautiful April kit Origins, featuring Life in Color collection by Simple Stories.

Origins1
As you may know, I just had a baby boy last  March,  and before he was born me and my family had a photo shoot just to document my pregnancy and our family of 3, before it became a family of 4.

This photo shoot was something I really wanted to do; on my first pregnancy I didn’t care too much about taking pics of myself and now I regret I don’t have any decent pic of me while waiting for my baby girl 😦 So, I am really happy we got to have these pics taken. Of course I wanted to scrap them properly, and what better than the beautiful papers and embellishments of April kit!

I used this Tolsby photo frame by Ikea I ‘ve been hoarding for months waiting for a special project. This was perfect because I can use many of the thousand of pics we had taken and also because its format allows it to be displayed in a shelve of my living room, so anyone who comes to visit us can take a look and see how huge I was, LOL!

For the cover I used this gorgeous leaves wreath, an exclusive cutfile of this April kit, I love it and want to use it everywhere! I also used a piece of the white hearts Clear Cuts by Bella Blvd., I think it’s a great accent for a mini album cover.

cliquekits_simplestories_minialbum_carolischulz_april

These are the pages of the mini; as you can see, I used almost all the patterned papers and embellishments of the kit, love the color combination. I also used some leaves from the exclusive cutfiles of the kit.

Something I love and often make on my mini albums is including some kind of journaling text on most of the pages, specially over the pictures. In this mini I used the alpha by Bella Blvd. included on the kit to add some text on my pages and complement it with the clear stickers by Simple Stories, included on the kit as well.

I hope you like the idea of this mini album, it makes a great decorative element for your home and also documents in a beautiful and creative way some special moment or event of our lives.

Thank you for your visit, have a lovely day!

Geek Lab: Tag Cut File Mini Album

geeklab

Hello, its Melissa and I’m back again.  You’ll know by now that I love making mini albums, and today I have a mini that I made using this months exclusive tag digital cut file as my base.  Of course I’m using the gorgeous April Kit “Origins”.

Here is the tag cut file:

CK_Apr2016-cuts_07

I cut the cover of the album in white card stock with the entire pattern, but for the pages of the album I only cut the tag shape.  I enlarged the cut file to make sure my largest 4×6 photo would fit.Dance1Here are all the tags cut and ready to go.Dance2 I always start my mini album by adhering my photos.  The mini album is about my youngest (20 months old at the time) and her dance that she performed one morning around the kitchen. I was so lucky to capture these sweet photos!  You can purchase the Tombow Mono permanent glue tape in the CK store here.Dance3And then the fun part of embellishing, always my favourite time!  Look at all the gorgeous embellishments from the kit.Dance4I made the cover very minimalist.  I backed the cut file with a silver cupcake wrapper, and used a butterfly ephemera piece, black Bella Blvd letter stickers and an Illustrated Faith enamel heart (love them!).Dance7And here is my finished album.  The yellow ribbon is from my stash.Mini1I stuck a white card stock label to the back cover to hide the cupcake wrapper, and I used a cut apart card for my journaling.  The chipboard add on was perfect for extra dimension, and you can purchase it here.Mini2The first photo shows my daughter starting her dance.  The photos were taken with my iPhone, and aren’t the best quality, but I love them because they capture the moment!  When an impromptu dance is happening theres no time to go searching for my DSLR!!Mini3On the back of each photo page I embellished.  For this page I fussy cut the sentiments out of one of the 4×6 cut apart cards.Mini4She continued her dance through the kitchen, and I made this tag from the Bella Blvd heart acetate.  I also used lots of enamel dots, another kit add on which you can purchase here.Mini5The back of the acetate was potentially problematic, but I decided to not be too concerned about what could be seen through it.  I framed one of the exclusive printables with a Simple Stories chipboard frame.Mini6My final page is the finish of her dance, I love her little foot over the vacuum cleaner cord!  The paper that I cut this tag from is one of my favourites, which is why I choose it for this smaller photo.Mini7I hope you enjoyed this tag mini!  I certainly had a blast making it.  Have a lovely weekend!

Locker Room – mini album tutorial

Hello everyone! Today I have for you a step by step tutorial. You will see how I made lovely mini album with photos of me and my boyfriend (perfect for Valentine’s Day!) When I first saw February “Hot Mess” Kit, I knew that I have to make a mini! There are sooo many cut outs, tags, journaling cards to use, that I didn’t hesitate. Also, I reeeaaaally like Maggie Holmes paper with the calendar, perfect to include it in the mini too!

OK, let’s start 🙂 Here are the things I used to make the mini.

DSC_3217

First of all, I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist and an ink to make some splashes on some cards.

DSC_3227 DSC_3229

Then it’s time to have fun! Before decorating, remember to PUNCH cards. I really often forget about it and when the page is done, it turns out that some embellies or dots or even a photo is placed where the whole should be.

105D3000 105D30002

The mini is really simple. There aren’t many embellishments but still it is full of goodies 🙂

105D30004 105D30003

If photos are in color I often try to take 2-3 colors from them and decorate photos in those colors to make the page more consistent.

And this is how the whole album looks like! Hope you like it 🙂 Tell me in comments what you think! (This is a .gif file and it might take a while to start working)

And some close-ups if you’re not bored 😉

A Heart Shaped Mini!

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hello again!  Its Melissa and I’m back again, this time with a mini album made with the “Hot Mess” February kit!  I just love making mini albums, they are perfect for when you have extra photos that don’t need a their own scrapbook pages.  I had some extra snow day photos from our 2015 Winter, and as I’d printed them out small they were perfect for this album.

I wanted to put most of my effort into my cover.  I enlarged the exclusive heart cut file (by  Just Nick) until it was the right size for my photos, and I backed it with papers from the Shine 6×6 paper pad and the speciality acetate (in the main kit).  I embellished the cover in a very simple style to allow the papers to show.  I also used some of the winter elements from the “Clique into December” kit.Remember1I cut the remainder of my pages solid without the windows, and I used a ring for my binding.  I love how elements can be seen around the edge of the heart.  Here’s a look at the pages open.Remember3My second page was the back of the cover page, and I broke up the white cardstock background with the black and white stripe.Remember5 I kept my journalling very minimal, because the pictures really do tell the story, and I have other 12×12 layouts about the day.Remeber6I loved including the acetate in the album too!  I love that my photo can be seen underneath.  The “XOXO” is another exclusive cut file.Remeber7This page makes me laugh!  Its meant to be a selfie of the three of us!  I still included it though because its the only photo of my husband and I.  I included the music note because we both love to sing!  Nothing to do with  the photo but it means something to me!!

Remember10My final page was on kraft cardstock that I purchased from the Clique Kits Store here.  Did you know that if you go into the Categories page of the store you can find everything you need.  Make sure you add a note to have your extras shipped with your kit 🙂Remember13I haven’t included photos of all of my pages, because I made a process video which includes a walk through of the album at the end.

I hope you enjoyed looking at this album!  I certainly had fun making it, I’m adding it to my stack of minis in my craft space!

Bless you

Geek Lab: Printing and Cutting Titles

geeklab

Hello there, how’s everyone? Caroli here and today I want to show such a simple trick I use often, which can help you for adding nice titles to your projects.

This is how my title looks, and the way to make it is very simple: you just have to open your word processor program, like MS Word or similar, and use the WordArt tool, then type the word you want to use, just as I show you in the pic

1
Once you have all the words you need you just have to print the title on your fave patterned paper. In my case, I used this gogeous yellow paper from Fancy Pants Designs included on January kit Alegria.

cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz3

And now all you have to do is cut! I used my precision scissors because I do love cut paper and spent some cutting time with Netflix on the background 🙂

This is how my titles came out, I used them for decorating this minialbum I made using all the sonograms I’ve had so far for my baby boy.

cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz5

I decided this simple ring binding because I only have 30 weeks so far, so probably there will be few more pics in the future I’ll want to add to the mini.

cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz

As you can see, I combined vellum and patterned paper for the pages of this mini; on every vellum page I added details about the weight and size of my baby and some other information like when we knew he was a boy or when I started to feeling his movements.

cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz2

cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz4

cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz6 cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz7 cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz8

In this case I had so many pics with a “good angle” of my boy so I decided to make a vellum envelope and store them there. Also,  added some sequins from Pinkfresh Studio included on my kit, because everything looks better with sequins 🙂

cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz14 cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz16 cliquekits_minialbum_fancypants_carolischulz17

I hope you like the idea of printing and cuting your titles just like me, it’s simple, cute and looks great also on layouts 🙂

Let me know if you have any question or comment, have a lovely day!

Student of the Month – Maria Delicata

student-of-the-month
Happy Saturday everyone!  I am so excited to be bringing you another post from one of our fabulous guest designers!  We have been fans of Maria and following her on YouTube for some time now!  So we are thrilled to have her as our guest this month!  Please say Hello to Maria!
image1 (1)
Hello there, I am back and super excited to share with you my first project for the Clique Kits Design Team member for Clique into the Holidays kit December 2015.

As soon as I got the kit I was inspired to create so many different things. I do love layouts but I have always loved doing mini albums as well. When I first started scrapbooking I used to do mini albums all the time, even more than layouts, as it was an easy way to document an event, such as a holiday abroad, the birth of someone special or even a birthday party.
It was quite an easy decision. I decided to create this mini album to break into this lovely kit as I figured that whatever is left over will work great for any layouts I might want to do. The stucture of the album is the simplest you can imagine and the great thing about this is that it only uses 2 whole sheets of 12 x 12 paper. The rest is embellishments and a few pieces of additional paper which help back the photos up.
It is definitely a shimmery album. I fell in love with the silver shimmery paper in the kit and wanted to find good use for it. I also did the unthinkable and mixed Gold and Silver together to create my album cover! Yes! Talk about daring!
Working on the structure was easy, and creating the pages even easier. The Pinkfresh Studio Christmas collection is such a versatile and easy collection to use. I printed six, 8cmx8cm photos of my daughter, one for each year she has celebrated Christmas and put together this little book of Christmas memories.
I definitely encourage you to do the same, with a couple of sheets of patterend paper and an event you want to document. This could also work great as a DIY Christmas gift for someone special.

I am loving the kit! Have I said it enough?? hohoho!
So here I will leave you with the video and some pictures of the finished album! Hope you enjoy it and don´t forget to come back for more!
