Study Hall: Two Birds of a Feather

Hi there! It’s Allie sharing with you today, and I’m so excited to show you a different way of journaling. I very rarely journal on my pages, so it’s usually extra special when I do. I don’t care for my handwriting, and I am always looking for new ways to journal using my Silhouette Cameo or letter stickers. My husband and I get our photos done for every anniversary, and I thought this photo was gorgeous (though I may be a bit biased). I loved the extra space it had, and I wanted to do something special with it. I was also inspired by the super fun feathers by Pretty Little Studio that are included in this month’s kit!!

I decided to cut out my phrases directly from the photo using my Silhouette Cameo. I typed what I wanted to say in the software, then mixed up the fonts. Then I was ready to cut the photo! The “textured cardstock” setting cut through the photo paper like a dream!

This technique is super easy, but gives a really unique and special look to a layout. It’s also fun to use a large photo!

Do you ever use large photos or journal directly on them? Thanks for stopping by!
