Oh Snap

artstudioheader

Hello Clique Kits friends!

Marcia here today with some more layout inspiration with the awesome July Kit Raskog! This is my 4th layout with the kit and I am amazed how much paper I have left! On this layout I decided to add some texture to my background with some modeling paste and a stencil I created from one of the digital cut files this month.  I used the plus signs from this cut file.

CK_orig

I erased all but the plus signs and duplicated and welded the cut file. Here is what it looked like when I was ready to cut it out …

Silhouette_MakeYourOwnStencil

Since I was going to use this as a stencil, it didn’t matter what paper I used, so I used a piece of white cardstock that had gotten dirty. If you want to keep the stencil and reuse it, try cutting out of acetate… like the yellow sheet that came with this month’s Clique Kit.

I arranged the stencil over my background paper, using my photo as a guide. I didn’t need to get modeling paste behind my photo, but I wanted to make sure I was creating texture all around it.

OhSnap_stencil1

This is what it looked like after applying the modeling paste.

OhSnap_stencil2

I watercolored the background using a couple different colors to help draw the eye to my photo. Here is the finished result…

OhSnap

I let those acetate words be my title and embellished with the rubber charms, the acrylic add on frame stickers, some cardstock stickers, and wood veneer hearts from the Pinkfresh Felicity collection. The flair is from my stash … I used all my flair in the kit already except for one and it did not fit this vacation layout. Since the background paper word strips did not fit my photo …. I did some journaling on my computer and cut out strips to place over the top. Here are some close-ups…

Yearbook: 2015

Blog Image_Yearbook

Hi guys! 🙂 Elisabetta here to show you another layout made with the amazing March Kit. I took some pictures during New Year’s Eve and I think that those will be the last ones for my 2015 album so I wanted to create a page to say goodbye to 2015!

IMG_4409 copia

I cut the numbers off my page using my scissors (if you have a Silhouette this would be easier :P) and then I backed them with some patterned papers that I liked. Then I decided to use the picture instead of the 0. I like how it turned out and it was very easy to make. 🙂

IMG_4411

“Fine” in italian means “the end”. As I told you, I wanted to focus on the fact that it was the last day of 2015 and that we were celebrating a new beginning.

IMG_4412

I also used these wood veneers that I found on the CK shop some months ago: I decided to use happy faces but also sad faces because 2015 hasn’t always been good. 🙂

IMG_4413

I love this picture that me and my friends took. We were on the floor taking silly selfies and even if the colors and quality aren’t that great, it’s still perfect to document that moment! 🙂

IMG_4414

I really hope that you will like this layout, let me know what you think. See you tomorrow with another layout. 🙂

Study Hall: Using cards on a layout!

study-hall

IMG_4365

Hi eveyone! Elisabetta here today to show you a layout created with the beautiful March Kit! I always love the 3×4, 4×6 and 4×4 cards that are included in the kits and I try to find ways to include them in regular layouts. 🙂

IMG_4367

I love to place the cards on the layouts so that it kinda looks like a mood board. This way I can add a lot of embellishments all over the page and have a lot of fun! 🙂

IMG_4370

What do you think of this page design? How do you use the cards included in the kits?

Thank you so much for stopping by, have a great day. 🙂

Pursue Whatever Sets Your Soul On Fire

geeklab

Hello Clique Kits friends! Marcia here today, sharing a layout created with the December Girl Cave kit featuring the fun Pink Paislee Memorandum collection. I don’t think we have shared the kit here on the blog yet, so let me show you…

4608541_orig

One of my favorite parts of any Clique Kit are the exclusive digital cut files. I thought I could use the “Pursue Whatever Sets Your Soul On Fire” title on a graduation layout. I decided to enlarge the title to make a dramatic statement. My daughter graduated from college with a degree in English with the hopes of someday becoming a writer or an editor. The label paper at the top of my layout worked well to record this. Her passion has always been writing since she was a little girl. Now she is soon to graduate with her Masters degree … yeah!!!!

SoulOnFireThere are lots of fabulous embellishments this month, like these wood veneers from My Mind’s Eye, the Pretty Little Studio acetate tags, and these self adhesive sequins from Jillibean Soup. Oh, and I love the Pink Paislee Memorandum washi tape sheet.

I challenge you to use a big title on one of your next layouts too. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to shop the Clique Store’s Black Friday sale for some awesome deals!

Clique Cards – Holiday Edition

Hello Clique friends!

Marcia here today with some festive holiday cards that I created with the Clique Cards Holiday Edition kit. Unfortunately, this kit is sold out already, but some items may be available for purchase individually in the Clique Store. Be sure to check it out. This kit featured Photoplay’s Dear Santa line as well as beautiful specialty paper by Pretty Little Studio. Of course it had coordinating embellishments and an EXCLUSIVE stamp designed just for this kit by Honey Bee Stamps! Along with our exclusive Flair and Cut Files. Here is a peek of the kit …

Ok, so do you want to see some cards? This first one is a 6×6 card using a digital cut file from SVGcuts.com. With the Dear Santa collection I just had to create a Santa card.

SantaCard

A sticker popped up on foam squares makes for an easy card sentiment.

Santa_Detail

I love box cards, so my second card had to be a box card. This is also a digital cut file from SVGcuts.com. I used that sparkling silver paper in the kit and it added the perfect elegant touch.

MerryChristmas

MerryChristmas_Side

The paperclip tree, tinsel bow, stickers and wood veneers are all part of the Card Kit.

What is so cool about these box cards is that they fold flat so you can mail them!

MerryChristmas_Folded

I have one last card to share with you. This one was created using the exclusive stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps that was included with the Holiday Card kit. What I love about the set is that you could use this for much more than Christmas …. maybe even Valentines Day?

WarmHeart

The seam binding in the kit makes for the most gorgeous bows!

Yearbook: Birthday

blog-image_yearbook

Hello everyone. 🙂 Elisabetta here to show you a new layout!! As soon as I saw the cut apart paper with the 4×4 squares on it, that’s part of the kit, I knew that I wanted to cut them in order to create a grid layout!

IMG_2826 copia copia

I wanted this page to be simple and not too busy. I added just a few embellishments.

IMG_2829

Wood veneers are one of my favorite items this month. I used them all and they are perfect for every page! I bet you’re loving them too. 🙂

IMG_2828 IMG_2830 IMG_2831

There are a lot of fun texts on the 4×4 cut parts and they are perfect for every occasion. You can use them on a grid layout as I did, or in an Instagram album that you can find in the shop!

IMG_2832 IMG_2833

I hope I’ve inspired you to use this paper in a fun way! Have a great day scrappy friends 🙂

Are you a Saver?

blog-image_yearbook

I’m like my mother, and like her mother and like her mother…. You get my drift, right?!

We are SAVERS!

And, of course, all the Clique Kits bits and fab paper are totally worth saving. Every last inch!  Which is why at the end of this and every kit I receive from Clique Kits, I make something special with the last few pieces left.  I hope to show you clever ways on what can be done with your extra leftover bits throughout the year!

PicsArt_10-11-10.41.59 (1)

In this specific post I’ll walk you through my process of making a scrappy mini with the Funfetti Kit. I approach any non 12×12 scrapbook layout or pocket page with the same process laid out below.  I will list them here first and them break it down as the post continues:

  1. Shape
  2. Theme
  3. Binding

PicsArt_10-11-07.44.01

I first look at what the majority of the pieces shape is.  In this case, they are rectangle.  I cut or ripped each larger scrap as a base for the pages.  90% of scrapbooking paper is double sided so if you don’t like a certain b-side, paste one to it. Not only will it add stability to the book but you won’t have to work with the side you don’t like:)PicsArt_10-11-07.59.34

Then for your theme you can fly by the seat of your pants or have some structure.  I used the leftover picture that ‘didn’t make the cut’ for week-in-the-life but you are free to use vacation leftovers, sports shots or just a book on selfies.   Obviously you’ll organize pictures by what works best with each scrapbooking paper page.

PicsArt_10-11-07.45.06

Size will definitely determine the picture you will get to use.  Don’t be afraid to cut them smaller, please.  You probably will like the picture better!  I print all my pictures in 4×6’s and sometimes those 2″ cut away leftover pieces when I make a 4×4 album make for some great shots!

After adding all the pictures, alphas, printables and extra scraps of paper each page it gets pretty sturdy.  So you’ll have to consider that when you choose your binding.

PicsArt_10-11-07.56.19

I’m a big fan of the rings you can buy at Office whatever because you can buy a pack of different sizes in a great silver.

PicsArt_10-11-07.55.15

Think about using ribbon, string, or brads when assembling.  You don’t always have to use plastic page protectors or a ring for binding when using an album. Also, picking up any type of album, even if it’s at the dollar store will work.

PicsArt_10-11-08.00.30

I truly appreciate you stopping by for read and I hope to see you soon!!

XOXOXO

-Kim

Locker Room: Hey! Awesome

blog-image_locker-room

Hello! Donna here to share another fun tutorial with you all.

My layout was inspired by one of the papers in the kit. I created my layout around this piece of paper.

DonnaEspiritu-CK-October05-tut01

I cut the squares I wanted to use and then made the other side as mat to some of the cut outs.

DonnaEspiritu-CK-October05-tut02

I used a couple of gelatos to color the white cardstock. I didn’t pay attention that much if the squares were equal since I will cover them later anyway. I splattered some as well using the same brush.

DonnaEspiritu-CK-October05-tut03

Then I used my jet black gouache to add black splatters. I cut a half an inch around the white cardstock and mounted on a black cardstock.

DonnaEspiritu-CK-October05-tut05

After adhering everything, I decided to splatter some more black gouache. To spare the photo from unwanted black splatters, I covered it with a piece of small plastic. Any cover will do.

DonnaEspiritu-CK-October05-tut06

Carefully lift the cover.

DonnaEspiritu-CK-October05-tut07

For a finishing touch, I doodled some scallops using a black pen. I would suggest waiting a bit more for the splatters to dry. I ended up with smudged splatters when I doodled around the page… patience is not my virtue lol!

DonnaEspiritu-CK-October05-tut08

This is how my page turned out.

DonnaEspiritu-CK-October05

More detailed shots.

That’s it for now, thanks for dropping by!
Happy crafting!

Geek Lab: Happy girls!

Hello! Justt here today to show you a layout with a photo of me and my scrapfriend. After Internet friendship we finally met two years ago at scrapevent and we are still close! Below you can see a photo from this year’s scrapevent in Warsaw. It’s unbelievable how passion can connect people!

jskowron_sept28_happygirls

In this layout I used printables from October Funfetti Kit. They match the girlish colors and are just perfect 🙂

jskowron_sept28_happygirls2 jskowron_Sept28_happygirls3

We were definitely very happy there (lots of scrapbooking shops, that’s the clue) so the title is obvious 🙂

Paint it

artstudioheader

Hi everyone. It’s Nicole again. I must admit, I love die cuts, wood veneers and embellishments in general. I especially love all of the goodies by Pinkfresh Studio in the April Clique Kit! It’s seriously divine. This month, I decided to pull out my paint to use on the wood veneer that came in the kit. I wanted to create a fun, happy layout to introduce my new pet piggie, Hamlet! Yes, we got a little piggie for Edward’s 5th birthday. At first, I wasn’t thrilled with the idea, but over the past few weeks, I’ve come to love the little guy! He’s so smart and cute.

I decided to use the rub-ons on paper and then cut them out and adhered them using foam squares to make them pop off the page. Love, love, love the gold rub-ons. They are the perfect ascents for any scrapbooking project and so easy to use.
