Locker Room: Adding POP to Black & White

What a great way to start off my Friday post!  I love giving away goodies to our awesome hoppers!  So fun!  Ok, for today’s post with my super Study Abroad kit I used nearly all the black and white papers in the kit.  I added a few of the A sides with a few pops of yellow scattered around my layout.  I also printed this Instagram photo of our girls in black and white to create a mostly black and white layout.  I started with a 12×12 sheet of American Crafts card stock (new in our school store) and dug out my Heidi Swapp 12×12 inch hearts stencil.  I laid the stencil over my card stock and sprayed some Sunshine My Huey’s mist at a 45 degree angle across the cardstock.  This allowed for there to be a gradual fade of the spray ink across the card stock.  After the ink dried, I started playing with my placement and used many of the smaller pieces of paper from cutting into my fabulous kit last week!  I also included a few little Heidi Swapp stamps I picked up last week and a couple fabulous cut files from The Cut Shoppe, 3×4 Flash Cards.

Another fun little design element I added to my layout was some stamping with the Lawn Fawn Wish You Were Here set, which is on sale in our shop right now.  This fun stamp set has some great arrows, cute little heart and sweet sentiments included in it.  I stamped multiple arrows throughout my layout, all pointing towards our daughters.  I also stamped up to three times without adding additional ink to the stamp. Erica does this too and I always love the look of it!

Did you happen to notice the little phrases throughout this fabulous Studio Tekturek map paper?  There are a bunch so take a closer look at yours!  I cut of this little section that says I Love You and added it for another pop of color (shown in the lower right of the photo below).

Yearbook: Cut it up

 

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Today I’m going to share a layout I created using multiple cut files. I love the September kit and it coordinates so well with The Cut Shoppe, cut files. I used the Notebook Doodles and the Just Sayin cut files. Along with a paper airplane cut I designed and a bag I downloaded from the Silhouette store.

So as you see, I used multiple cut files. But something else about the layout is the picture. I try to use pictures that speak for a moment of my life. And this picture was taken in my old office. I moved offices about two weeks ago. I have sat in the same office for 5 days a week for 8 years. So this picture documents one of the last times I would be in that space. So I encourage you all to document those small moments in your own life as well.

September Designer in the Spotlight: Lilith Eeckels

         As you know, Clique Kits is very lucky to have Lilith Eeckels as our September Designer in the Spotlight. Lilith inspired the Clique Kits girls to try out one of the latest trends in scrapbooking and crafting– chalkboard paint– with this post. We were so excited about it, that we decided to include a whole bottle of chalkboard paint in our September Kit Study Abroad.  And now, we can’t wait to show you the layouts that Lilith herself made with Study Abroad.

In this first layout, Lilith used a die cut file as a mask and painted chalkboard paint over it. This month, Clique Kits and The Cut Shoppe are teaming up for a special Blog Share on Wednesday, September 17th where you can see even more inspiration using the Cut Shoppe products with the September Clique Kit! There are so many gorgeous details in Lilith’s layouts. I adore her little doodles and her layering.

In this close-up you can see how well the kit products work together. I love how Lilith fussy cut a row of paper airplanes and enhanced them with some sequins above her title. I am so enamored with Lilith’s style and feel so inspired to try some of her techniques myself!  We hope that Lilith enjoyed working with Study Abroad as much as we are enjoying seeing her finished products! Art Studio: Embossing on a Layout

 

Hi everybody! It’s Gia here with a quick tip on this beautiful Sunday! Today I am showing how I spiced up a cut file to use as a title on a layout with some green embossing powder.

 

 

 

I used one of the cut files from The Cut Shoppe called The Beachy Keen Cut File. There are so many ways to use digital files that you can play with and the best part is that unlike a physical item that is gone once you use it, having a digital file means you can re-use it as many times as you want and each time come up with something completely new! The “Fun in the Sun” sentiment, from an Elle’s Studio stamp set in the School Store (now sold out) is also embossed with gold embossing powder to match the Pinkfresh Studio sticker under the title and the Pretty Little Studio gold foil word “Happy” leftover from the August Clique Kit.
