Geek Lab:Today

Hi everybody! Hope your weekend is off toΒ a great start. Today, I have a fun layout to share with you using the exclusive die cuts, cards and acrylic French fries from the March Clique Kit! I love the French fries. They are so cute. For this layout, I wanted lots of layers with a variety of papers, die cuts and embellishments. As soon as I saw these papers, I knew exactly what photos I wanted to scrap. I used my photo editing software on my phone to edit the photos. The original photos were a little dark so I brightened them up a bit.

Little memories today_Clique Kits_Studio Calico Goldie_Nicole Martel_layoutOnce my photos and papers were matted down, I decided to stamp on the die cuts that came with the kit and tucked them behind the top photo. I love the look of layered tags on a layout. It really makesΒ  a layout pop.

Β The easiest way to adhere acrylic embellishments to a project is Glue Dots. I love them and a girl can never have too many Glue Dots.
And since I ran out of room for my journaling on this layout, I decided to journal on a tag and tuck it beneath a photo with a sub-heading title.
Thank you for stopping by today!

Art Studio: blah, blah, blah

Hello everybody. What do you think of this month’s exclusive papers? Like it? I love the Blah, blah, blah paper because it’s something that my son often says to me when I am talking! I know, rude right? Rather than keep the paper white, I decided to use my watercolor paints to create a multi-colored background. And I love that the paper has a nice finish to it which helped prevent the paper from tearing!

Rather than use a regular paint brush, I prefer using the aqua brushes because they hold the water in the brushes which allows you to control the water flow more easily.

Some areas got a little more water than I had intended, but it still worked out. I simply dabbed the paper with a paper towel to help prevent the paints from running together.

There goes those adorable acrylic French fries again. πŸ™‚

Hi everybody! I have a fun tutorial for you today. I am going to share how easy it is to use watercolor paints on your layouts! I love how vibrant the Prima watercolors are and as soon as I saw them at CHA, I knew I had to have them. The colors are absolutely beautiful and I am here to share with you how pretty their colors are on paper.

I decided that I wanted paint splatters for my background so I pulled out my templates, aqua brushes and watercolors. It’s best if you use watercolor paper so the paper does not warp or tear.

I simply placed the template down on my paper and painted the colors onto the template. Try to avoid moving the templates while you are coloring within the shapes so that you get the best image possible. You really do not need much color on your brush.Β  A little goes a long way.

Once the paint was dry, I used some ink and the #lovethis stamp to stamp on the background of my paper.

I love the little macaroon flair. Fun!

Β I hope that I was able to inspire you to try watercolors on your next project. They are super easy to use and most of all, FUN!

Hi everyone. πŸ™‚ Elisabetta here to show you another layout with a very sweet photo of my boxer dog Wampy! ❀

Since today’s category is “Art Studio”, I’ve decided to play a little bit with Gelatos. I have a lot of colors but I never use them because I’m not a big fan of mixed media and I don’t like to wait for things to dry, but today I decided to challenge myself and be a little more artsy. πŸ™‚

I pulled out three colors but then I decided to go with the pink one and I added some color on the background using the packaging technique! It was easy and it dried immediately. πŸ˜‰

This layout was all about circles! I cut my picture and some papers with the Big Shot and then I tried to use circular embellishmets like flairs. πŸ™‚

I really like this design. It’s easy and quick, but it’s also very pretty in my opinion!

What do you guys think? Let me know and have a great scrappy day. πŸ™‚

Yearbook: 2015

Blog Image_Yearbook

Hi guys! πŸ™‚ Elisabetta here to show you another layout made with the amazing March Kit. I took some pictures during New Year’s Eve and I think that those will be the last ones for my 2015 album so I wanted to create a page to say goodbye to 2015!

I cut the numbers off my page using my scissors (if you have a Silhouette this would be easier :P) and then I backed them with some patterned papers that I liked. Then I decided to use the picture instead of the 0. I like how it turned out and it was very easy to make. πŸ™‚

“Fine” in italian means “the end”. As I told you, I wanted to focus on the fact that it was the last day of 2015 and that we were celebrating a new beginning.

I also used these wood veneers that I found on the CK shop some months ago: I decided to use happy faces but also sad faces because 2015 hasn’t always been good. πŸ™‚

I love this picture that me and my friends took. We were on the floor taking silly selfies and even if the colors and quality aren’t that great, it’s still perfect to document that moment! πŸ™‚

I really hope that you will like this layout, let me know what you think. See you tomorrow with another layout. πŸ™‚
