Art Studio: Right Now

Hi everyone. I am so excited to share my first layout using the fabulous Jellybean Kit. The colors in this month’s kit is so vibrant and pretty; I love it. Before I started embellishing this layout, I sprayed yellow and blue spray mists by Shimmerz Paints on to white cardstock. I used a paper towel to dab the excess ink off the paper so it wouldn’t bulk up. Then I used a honeycomb stencil and ink to create a fun border across the middle of the layout in pink and orange. I used yellow and blue paint to alter the wood veneer. I wanted this layout  to be as colorful as possible.

I purchased the Add-On paints and puffy stickers from the April Shop. I am so glad I bought them because I am loving how smooth the Shimmerz Paints are and the puffy stickers are absolutely beautiful… you have to see them in person. They also feel like they are made from nice quality material.

I paired up a heart die cut with a heart puffy sticker to make the heart more interesting. I love adding layers to embellishments. And here is my layout. Our design team Maryam Perez created the journaling cards that I used on this layout. I love them all.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope I was able to inspire you to use mist and some acrylic paints on your next projects! It’s so much fun and once you get started, it’s not as scary as you might have thought. 🙂

Geek Lab- Hello Little Critter

13738133_10206587473420812_3012027118225482067_o

Happy Thursday!  For my page today, I decided to use a tool that rarely gets used from my stash: punches, along with my February Kit.  I used some small circle punches to add some bright spots of color to my layout below:

For the rest of my page, I kept to a palette of cool colors with the purples, teals, and mint in a simple layout design with a black of patterned paper on the left and another on the right and a strip of gingham down the middle. Centering a photo on this strip helps guide your eye to the photo.

For embellishing, I fussy cut some of the black and white flowers and added some white tags for journaling.

I felt like I needed something to “pop” on the page, and was playing around with other papers, but I tried a tiny bit of this corrugated cardboard from Fancy Pants and it really helped add some amazing contrast.

I actually tried to cut to corrugated cardboard using a cut file and my Silhouette, but it was an epic fail!   The cardboard ripped and the design did not cut.  Perhaps a deep blade would work?  Anyways, I decided just to stick with some simple circles that I punched with some circle punches.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Yearbook: Trolls

blog-image_yearbook

Hi all. This month, I made it a goal of mine to scrapbook a layout using the printables that came with the December kit. I ALWAYS forget to use these because I forget to print them out and then when I do think about them, my kit is almost gone. So, this month, I printed them off first before I even received the kit.

dsc_4267

Initially, I was going to prep this page for the December kit, but once I started applying the printables and photos, I needed things like washi tape, enamel dots, puffy stickers… all items that I’ve been hoarding from the Clique Kit shop. 🙂 I like being a hoarder of supplies because you never know what you might need until you actually need it. So don’t forget the Clique Kit shop because we have a great variety of products available to be shipped with you kit each month.

I cut the Movie Night Hexagon in half and then moved them around the bottom of the photo collage until I was happy with the placement. I always save my tickets from when I go to the movies. Rather than keeping the tickets in my wallet, I decided to use it on my layout.

I really don’t know what got into me… I just couldn’t stop adding stuff to this layout.  I am just glad that some of this stuff is finally getting used.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope to see lots of projects using the printables from the December kit. Lacey did a fabulous job on them!

Moment to Remember

yearbook

Hi friends. Today, I am sharing another layout I created using Clique Kit’s Swan Lake kit. I love the patterns and color palette of this kit. It’s a pretty kit, but not too pretty to scrap little boys… For this layout, I wanted to have a little fun with it so I played with some Shimmerz Paints and fussy cutting. The squares were hand-cut from the patterned paper. Then I used foam squares to make a few pop up off the page. I used some of the exclusive journal cards and cut-aparts as well. Can you spot them? They are available in our digital shop! Check them out here! Once the paint was dry and the Nuvo drops, the layout came together in a snap. Lots of layers of tags and journaling cards here.

The photo was from when Edward and I walked in Washington D.C. with thousands of other people to help raise money to BEAT cancer. This was my 7th year participating and Edward’s 2nd year! I loved having him with me. And the best thing about it was, he enjoyed it too.

Products: Cardstock: My Mind’s Eye, Patterned Paper: Die Cuts: Crate Paper, Chipboard alphas: American Crafts, Paint: Shimmerz Paints, Stamps: Ali Edwards, Pinkfresh Studio, Nuvo: Tonic Studio, Sticker words: Pretty Little Studio, Journaling Cards: Cut-aparts: Clique Kits.

Here are a few close-ups:

Locker Room-Boys Roar!

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hello Clique friends!  Candace here with you today to share another layout I made using the goodies in the shop.  I love that Clique kits not only puts together beautifully coordinated monthly kits but also carries the latest scrapbooking goodies from the hottest manufactures in the industry.  For today’s layout I used more goodies from the Bella Blvd Alex collection.  As a mom of 4 crazy boys I can’t get enough of this awesome collection!

Here is a look at the fun layout!

And a few close ups…

boysroar1A.jpg

Quick tip:  If you are having trouble getting started on a layout use a fun cut file to create the center piece or focal point of your layout.  By using a large cut file a bulk of the design process will be done!  Now you can play with your embellishments and papers to create the rest of the layout without worrying about the base design!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Next time you are stuck and have a little creative block try using a fun cut file to cut down on the design anxiety so you can just play!

Have a beautiful day!

Make Today Amazing!

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hello & welcome back…Dani here today to share my most recent 12×12 page with you.  Today I wanted to feature the 2016 October Clique Kit using the softer colors (basically without using the blue).  This page is of me & my girl friends at a Rascal Flatts concert.  We had such a good time, I knew I had to document the event.

I wanted to try this technique I saw Missy Whidden use on one of her YouTube videos.  I didn’t have transparency sheets, so I used some acetate I bought a while back to make shaker cards…It worked PERFECTLY!! 🙂

maketodayamzingclsup1

I used Heidi Swapp‘s Color Shines, in the colors; Patina, Blush, Gold Lame & Coral.  So excited about it..its such a cool new technique that looks really awesome on scrapbook layouts & cards.  I’m just so thrilled with how it turned out!

maketodayamzingclsup2

Here’s a few more close-ups of my layout using the 2016 October Clique Kits:

maketodayamzingclsup3

I inked the edges with my gold Delicata ink from Tsukineko, of some of the exclusive 3x4s & 4x6s cards included in the kit.  I also made a hidden pocket at the top of my page to hold my journaling.

maketodayamzingclsup4

I cut a few stars out on my cuttlebug..yes I know its old school, but use the products & tools you have, no matter how new or old they may seem.  What’s that saying?  Everything that’s old is NEW again.  I truly believe in using what you have…ultimately it will make your layouts feel new & fresh all over again!!  I added some black ink splatters to finish off the layout…here’s a look at my completed layout:

Thank you so much for spending a few minutes of your day here with me…I know time is very precious, & I so appreciate it!!  I hope you will stop by Clique Kits today & check out these amazing products.

Big Hugs~Dani

Crazy Fun

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hi there & welcome back!  Dani here again today to share another 12×12 layout with you using the Sapphire,  October Clique Kit.  I really wanted to make a page using some of the positive inspirational quotes and phrases in the kit.  The cut-apart sheet from Simple Stories, Posh really caught my eye.  I immediately knew which photos I wanted to scrap of my son, Dominic. Don’t you just love when that happens!?

Here’s a few close-ups of my layout:

crazyfunclsup2

I just fell in love with this quote and couldn’t wait to add it to my page!  I also decided to do a little bit of mixed media again, so I used my Dreamscicle Shimmerz and Melon Gelato by Faber Castell with the packaging technique.  Then I added some Heidi Swapp, Gold Lame, Color Shine splatters to complete the look I was going for.  I cut it up to use in my layers and to border the quote.  I purposely cut free hand to give it that not so perfect artsy look.

crazyfunclsup3

I love to add tangled thread in my embellishment clusters and sometimes behind the photos.  I love the texture that it gives to my pages.  I really liked the color blocking on the background paper by Simple Stories.  It really helped the design of my layout come together quickly.  To create more layers behind my photos, I used one of the awesome exclusive 4×4 cards that comes in the kit and some of the turquoise map paper from Simple Stories, Posh.

crazyfunclsup4

Of course, I had to use the beautiful flair…the saying was just too perfect for this layout!  I just really enjoyed creating this.  The embellishments are just amazing & endless in this kit.  And those leather alpha stickers by Pink Fresh Studio are to die for!  🙂

Here’s a look at my completed page.  Hope you like it as much as I do?

Geek Lab- Machine Sewing tips

13738133_10206587473420812_3012027118225482067_o

First of all, I just wanna say how excited I am to be here sharing my first page on the Clique Kits blog!  And secondly, how gorgeous is the new October Kit Sapphire?!

ck_oct16-kit19

Here is my first page I created with the kit combining both the Pinkfresh Studios and Simple Stories papers.  I tend to usually stick with one line when I create, even within a kit, so I wanted to mix it up this time.

picture-day-ck-oct-16_edited-1

The large sections of aqua, navy and red seems a bit boring, so I decided to give my sewing machine a workout to add some more interest and jazz it up a bit!

picture-day-2_edited-1

I added a bit of white and gold twine from my stash to coordinate with the other gold elements in the kit like this beautiful wood veneer piece with gold accents.picture-day-1_edited-2

I tried to add continuity throughout the page by adding aqua, red, yellow, and navy accents at each point of the visual triangle.

picture-day-3_edited-1

You can watch how I created this page below, and after that is another video that I created on machine sewing on your scrapbook pages.  I hope you are inspired to break out your machine and add in some more texture and details with some stitches and thread.

November Clique Kits Pep Rally

Hi everybody. It’s Nicole here, wishing you a fabulous Wednesday! Welcome to the November Pep Rally. This month, we hope to inspire you with the “Tapestry” kit. I’ve been wanting a kit with some primary colors for a long time. I am loving all the blue in this kit. Makes this girl happy since it’s my FAVORITE color.

For our challenge this month, we went with an “Anything Goes” theme.

The Pep Rally, for those of you who are new to the Clique, is our monthly subscriber and design team blog share typically held the third week of the month and participants earn product credits-yes, free stuff to do what you love-who can beat that? It’s out with the old, in with the new time at Clique Kits when we (hopefully) have all killed our kit from the previous month and have lots to show off, and we start to chat and hype the excitement for the coming month’s kit. In other words, we party! We don’t leave out our guests-there is always a prize for a hopper who comments on each post and likes and shares on social media! Just leave a new comment for each like and share for a separate entry in the random drawing for this month’s prize. One lucky person will win this month’s Capture kit that is sold out! Get the word out and have your friends join our Pep Rally because they might end up with this gorgeous kit at their doorsteps!

Here’s today’s line up:
* Design Team Members on Kit Duty

Feel free to hop in any order, if you get lost, you can always come back here to find your place. This month, I thought it would be fun to create a monochromatic layout using different shades of blue to showcase my love of BLUE. I’ve been wanting to create an all blue layout for some time, but didn’t have the right kit to do so until I received the November Kit. There is plenty of blue in this kit so I had no problem accomplishing my goal.

Now, hop along and see what our design team and subscribers have been working on. Don’t forget to check out the gallery on the website landing page featuring our Varsity Team (design team) projects using the November kit and check out the Monthly Kit page for all the details about next month’s amazing Clique Kit Girl Cave. Take care!

Study Hall: Borgo20

studyhallHello everyone. 🙂 It’s Elisabetta here! Today I’m going to show you a layout that I adore. As soon as I saw the triangle acetate pieces from the Clique Kits Store, I knew that I wanted to use a lot of them on a single layout, and this page turned out exactly as I imagined it.

IMG_2854 copia

I just LOVE how pretty and colorful these triangles are! This design would look great on a 12×12 layout too!

IMG_2856

Borgo 20 (venti=twenty in italian) is a restaurant where me and my friends use to go every now and then. It’s a small place but you can eat some great italian food.

IMG_2859 IMG_2858

Since everything is already so colorful, I decided to use a black & white photo so that it didn’t get lost on the page. The triangles pointing to it also helps drawing the attention to the picture.

IMG_2860

IMG_2861

The gold little arrows that you’ll find in the alphas set are perfect to use with the acetate triangles!

IMG_2863 IMG_2866 IMG_2867

As always, you can watch the process video for this layout! Let me know what you think! Have a great day scrappy friends and thanks for stopping by. 🙂
