Yearbook: Beautiful

Hey CK friends! I’m here to share my third project made using the beautiful April 2017 Jellybean Kit. For today’s layout I wanted to document a photo with flowers, so I thought in the flower’s paper that came in the kit.

What I’ve done was fussy cut some of the flowers, and put them on the left side of my page. Then, around the flowers I created a cluster of embellishments, including enamel shapes, some leaves cuts, etc.

Here are some close-ups:

My title for this layout was “beautiful”. I chose it because the flowers of the photo are just beautiful. I don’t like so much to take flowers photos but I this one just stole my heart.

The journaling is about where I took the photo and how much I love that place.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. And don’t forget to document those simple things or moments that we have in our lives.

Happy Sunday!

Geek Lab: Better Together

Hello Friends! I’m so happy to be back here at the Clique Kits blog. First of all I’m going to do a quick question, Did you see the cut files of this month? If you already saw them, I know you will think the same than me, they are just beautiful, especially the flowers cut file. I just couldn’t resist myself, so I created a layout using that cut file. Now, I’m going to show you the result of it.

For backing the flowers I used one of the Paige’s papers that came in the kit, and for the other strips I used the same paper, but back side of it.

I also used some of the stamps from the sponsor of the month Latina Crafter. They have a lot of beautiful stamps (in english and spanish), you should check their shop.

Here are some close-ups to see the details a bit better.

I hope you liked this layout, and if you have a Silhouette Cameo or any other cutting machine, you should use this cut file.

See you soon guys!

Yearbook: You go girl

Hello!

It’s Donna here for my last project using the April “Jellybean” kit.

ck-apr17-kit4_orig

Here is my scrapbook layout I made for today

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout03

I wanted to use the “You go girl” word art cut file so bad but I was stumped which photo to use (adding that my printer isn’t working yet so I had to choose from the ones I’ve already printed). I try to remember the stories behind each photos and I decided to use this one photo of my daughter slumped on the floor with lots of Hello Kitty shoes. We were there to buy shoes but it’s not the kind we were looking for at that time. She wasn’t even two yet when this was taken and she knew what she likes already and kept on saying “Kitty” while gathering ALL the HK shoes she can find. So I focused my journaling on how I wish she grows up to be a strong-willed individual who knows what she wants in life.

Good thing I cut the word art already before my printer broke. But I used a plain white cardstock. Since the Silhouette studio software is still crashing when I try to open on hubby’s computer, I had to use my good old scissors to cut around the paper that I used as backing. I did this twice since I wanted to use this colorful Bella Blvd paper and the polka dot Paige Evans paper as well. I adhered the white cardstock first and carefully cut around it, alternating my scissors and sharp cutter. Then I adhered it again on the polka dot paper. I used a thin cardboard to add a bit of height to the big title.

I love the colors in the kit but I need some black to somehow “balance” the look I’m going for. So I used the b/w bag which stores the embellishments in the kit. And then I used the polka dot vellum paper to make a little paper clip bow.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout03a

I doodled randomly as well using my PITT pencils.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout04

I used mists/paints to create splatters. You can find similar products in the store especially the April Product of the Month Acri-Tonez Shimmerz Paints.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout03e

I maximized the remaining doily from the kit by cutting it in half.

That’s all from me today!

Happy crafting,

Geek Lab: You and Me

Hello!!! It’s Donna here and I’m very excited to be back on the CK Design Team!

For my first post and project, I will be sharing a layout using the April 2017 kit, “Jellybean”ck-apr17-kit4_orig

I love the foiled word arts in some of the papers and that’s the first inspiration on this layout.DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout01I didn’t plan to have a monochromatic layout, honestly. I ended up choosing teal/blue with black colors so that’s what I went with.

I fussy cut the words you + me (and later on couldn’t find the “+” cut out so it didn’t make into this layout).

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout01c

I adhered the floral cut files using gel medium. Then I used watercolors (blue, black) and PITT pencils to color the cut files. I started with the light blue colors first and then mixed the black watercolor later on, creating a grayish blue shade.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout01a

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout01d

I also used watercolors as ink to stamp the word “love”. Scattered it around the layout. The stamp is from Latina Crafter. I scattered the hearts and stars from the foam word stickers by Freckled Fawn. And did the same with the black enamel dots from Freckled Fawn as well.

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout01b

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout01f

I have a problem with my printer but good thing I got this 1 photo printed correctly. I didn’t want to just throw the rest away so I used them and layered them like you see here. I also love using layers of messy thread to add a bit of texture

DonnaEspiritu-CliqueKits-April-Jellybean-layout01e

I distressed the edges of the paper in the middle a little bit after cutting about half an inch to make it a little bit smaller. Then I used the blue/green stripe patterned paper as a mat.

That’s all from me today. I hope you liked it!

And see you again tomorrow!

Happy crafting,

Yearbook: Time

Yearbook

Hello CK friends! Maryám here to share another layout using the February BEE YOU kit. If you want to get this kit, go to the shop now, because we still have a few left.

For today’s layout I used the “sweet as honey” paper, and I cut the hexagons trying to get a kind of diagonal design. I’ve stitched arround some of them and on the others I put some embellishments with 3D foam to give more dimension.

mperez_feb17_time

I tried to do two cluster of the embellishments following the diagonal design, so I made one on the bottom right corner and the other one on the top left corner.
mperez_feb17_time4

As you can see, I put some butterflies from the rub-ons sheet, a few enamel triangles and some flowers from the ephemera pack and some that I fussy cut from the “Hazel Gingham” paper. Of course all of the supplies are included in the kit.

mperez_feb17_time5

For the title I used my favorite thickers, yes- the gold ones that were included in the kit, and I formed the word “time”. If you already saw the photo of my layout, you’ll know that I used a photo of a big watch. I’ve done this because I want to write my journaling about TIME. This year I will try to focus to do my best for all of the things, and try to balance my school work with scrapbooking, design work and photography.

mperez_feb17_time6

I hope you liked this layout, and stay tune to the blog to see more inspiration from the others CK Designers.

Geek Lab- Hello Little Critter

13738133_10206587473420812_3012027118225482067_o

Happy Thursday!  For my page today, I decided to use a tool that rarely gets used from my stash: punches, along with my February Kit.  I used some small circle punches to add some bright spots of color to my layout below:

hello-little-critter

For the rest of my page, I kept to a palette of cool colors with the purples, teals, and mint in a simple layout design with a black of patterned paper on the left and another on the right and a strip of gingham down the middle. Centering a photo on this strip helps guide your eye to the photo.

For embellishing, I fussy cut some of the black and white flowers and added some white tags for journaling.

hello-little-critter-1

hello-little-critter-2

hello-little-critter-3

I felt like I needed something to “pop” on the page, and was playing around with other papers, but I tried a tiny bit of this corrugated cardboard from Fancy Pants and it really helped add some amazing contrast.

I actually tried to cut to corrugated cardboard using a cut file and my Silhouette, but it was an epic fail!   The cardboard ripped and the design did not cut.  Perhaps a deep blade would work?  Anyways, I decided just to stick with some simple circles that I punched with some circle punches.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Geek Lab: Love

GeekLab

Hello Clique friends! Maryám here again to show you a layout made using a cut file of this month, but as you know, I don’t have Silhouette Cameo, so I decided to print the PNG image and then add stitching around the globe. ck-feb17-cuts-web2_orig

This is the result!

mperez_feb17_love

I used my Prima watercolors to paint into the globe, and also I added some flowers and butterflies to give a little bit of interest to my page.

mperez_feb17_love2

For the title I used the beautiful gold stickers that came in the kit, and formed the word love. I’ve chosen that word because I love the photo.

mperez_feb17_love3

In this layout I wanted to try something different with the rub-ons, so I put a couple of them on a piece of acetate and this is how them look. I think they look wonderful. Definitly, I’m going to do it on my next pages.

mperez_feb17_love4

mperez_feb17_love5

The last thing that I want to mention: I added the journaling (wrote by my typewriter) on the left side of the photo.

mperez_feb17_love6

Guys, I hope you liked this page, and if you are subscriber, you have the cut files and printables on the “Monthly Downloads” tab. Don’t forget to use them, because they are awesome!

Thanks for stopping by!

Field Notes: Vacation

Hello Everyone! Maryám here with you today to show you two pages of my travelers notebook created with the awesome February kit called Bee You.

mperez_feb17_vaction

For these pages I used a photo that I took with my Instax Mini 8, and what I wanted to document was a day that with my family went to Frutillar wich is a beautiful lake and beach. It was a beautiful day and I captured a lot of photos there.

Here are some close-ups:

On the right side I put my photo and I added some embellishments around it. I put the title with some stickers from the Gratitude TN kit that match perfectly with the kit.

mperez_feb17_vaction2

And on the left side, I used a card from one the papers of the kit and I put it my typewriter to add the journaling of that day. I also put some embellishments and some enamels triangles.

mperez_feb17_vacation3

The butterflies that you see are rub-ons that I’ve put on a piece of white cardstock, then I cut them and I put them around the page.

mperez_feb17_vacation4

I hope you liked these pages. Have a wonderful day!

Share your space – Maryám Pérez

Hello everyone! It’s Maryam and today I’m here to share something different. If you’ve read the title you already know of what I’m going to share, so… Here is my scraproom, also know as “creative room”.

*Note: If you see something different in the photos, it’s because I took them on different days.

Let’s get started! Here is my desk. I have the things that I most use, like stickers, stamps, papers, etc. I also keep my laptop and my graphic tablet on the desk.

mperez_jan17_scraproom01

On the right side of the desk I have some organizers where I keep some die-cut packs that I still have some pieces. On the other one some stickers, and on the big one I have my alphabets.

mperez_jan17_scraproom02

This is a glass jar and I keep some of my most used tools in it. By the side, I have one plastic bowl where I put “planner” stuff like clips, little wood veneers, etc.

mperez_jan17_scraproom03

Then, I have three organizers and they have dividers in them, so they are perfect to keep my sequins organized… I also keep the Clique Kits Flairs buttons.

As you can see I have this polka dots box, and here I put Clique Kits stuff.

mperez_jan17_scraproom04

In this little drawer I keep my Pretty Little Studio DT stuff and some things for my Project Life.

mperez_jan17_scraproom05

In the next wall, I have two shelves. On this one I have pencils, PL cards, flowers, mini albums, punches, thread, gesso, washitape and films for my Instax Camera.

mperez_jan17_scraproom06

And here I have my PL album, The Chronicles of Narnia book collection (Yes I know, left one book, but my sister is reading it), a black and white drawer, two crowns made by me, my camera charger and an earth globe.

mperez_jan17_scraproom07

I still have a lot of things to organize, but I hope you liked my little space where everything happens and the creative flows.

See you soon,

Maryám
