Field Notes – Punches and Mixed Media

CK- Field Notes -traveler notes - headerHello, Clique fans! Enza here today to share a new Traveler’s Notebook spread. Look at all the fabulous goodies in the July Pool Party Travelers Notebook kit!

I went back to my good ol’ punches again. This is a floral border one from Martha Stewart that I have had in my stash for quite a while. The idea was to create a colorful background using different patterned paper from the Ain’t Life Grand collection featured in the kit.

On the opposite side of the page, I used a mixed media paper from Kaisercraft that came in the May Sorbet kit. After cutting it to fit, I simply colored it with a mini ink blending tool and shades of ink that matched the colors in the papers. One of the sentiments from the collection served as my title, which was placed in the center of the page and backed with some thread for added texture.

I layered the photo with a mix of patterned papers. The journaling, as well as some sentiments, were typed and then cut into strips.

June Clique Kit Blog Share

Hi everybody. It‚Äôs Nicole here, wishing you a fabulous Wednesday! Welcome to the¬†June Pep Rally. This month, we hope to inspire you with the “La Dolce Vita” kit. I am loving all the¬†Elle’s Studio and Jillibean Soup goodies. What an awesome combination,¬†don’t ya think? I especially love all the embellishments in this kit. YUM.
For our challenge this month, we went with anything goes, but challenged our design team to include journaling on their projects.
The Pep Rally, for those of you who are new to the Clique, is our monthly subscriber and design team blog share typically held the third week of the month and participants earn product credits-yes, free stuff to do what you love-who can beat that? It’s out with the old, in with the new time at Clique Kits when we (hopefully) have all killed our kit from the previous month and have lots to show off, and we start to chat and hype the excitement for the coming month‚Äôs kit. In other words, we party! We don‚Äôt leave out our guests-there is always a prize for a hopper who comments on each post and likes and shares on social media! Just leave a new comment for each like and share for a separate entry in the random drawing for this month‚Äôs prize. One lucky person will win this month‚Äôs¬†La Dolce Vita! Get the word out and have your friends join our Pep Rally because they might end up with this gorgeous kit at their doorsteps!
Here’s today’s line up:

Feel free to hop in any order, if you get lost, you can always come back here to find your place. This month, I decided to add a little Shimmerz to my project using a circle stencil. Since I ran out of patterned paper I decided to punch circles from the exclusive cards. Doesn’t this layout look so neat? I love it!

Geek Lab: Traditions Layout

geeklab

Hello Clique Kits friends! Leigh here, with a layout using the “Clique Into December” Limited Edition Kit! The tools used on this layout are a simple square punch, and a star punch.

LOdynski_Dec15_TraditionsLayout

For this grid layout, you can use a 2 and 1/8th inch square punch to make quick work of creating the 9 squares. Then, printing your photos out at 2 inches, leaves a 1/16th inch border and makes a nice mat for your photos.

The whole basis for this layout started with a little idea that popped into my head; using the tinsel in this kit to layer behind the punched star. It created a little puffy looking embellishment, and inspired me to create the  rest of the squares! It was so much fun to pick out the little die cut pieces from the MANY full packs of Pinkfresh Studio embellishments in this kit!

I machine stitched around all the squares containing stars for continuity. You can have fun adding different punched stars either on top of, or below the squares, to give added interest and texture.

Added the die cut frame, included in the Pinkfresh Studio Card Stock Die Cut pack, behind the top left photo.

Locker Room: New Look

blog-image_locker-room

Hello!! Elisabetta here!! I am very excited to show you the first layout that I created using the amazing Funfetti kit! It was a very relaxing and easy process and I really love how it turned out at the end.

IMG_2817 copia copia

As you can see, I really wanted to focus on embellishments for this layout: I didn’t use the patterned papers as layers behind the picture, but as embellishments! How? I simply made them into flowers with a punch and I scattered them in the middle of the page in a diagonal way!

IMG_2818

I lifted the flowers¬†up a little bit with my fingers to create dimension and I know that as soon as I’ll put this page into my album, they will lay flat. I don’t care about that, but if you do, you can still use pop dots or hot glue behind the petals.

IMG_2822 IMG_2824 IMG_2820 IMG_2821

As you can tell, I didn’t feel the need to add more stuff to the layout, just a few little embellishments here and there, the journaling, the title, some black ink splatters and that’s it!

IMG_2825IMG_2819I also uploaded a process video on my channel, so you’ll be able to watch how I made this page!

I really can’t wait to know what you guys think about this page!! have a lovely day scrappy friends!
