Yearbook: Pockets – a week from my life

Blog Image_Yearbook

Hello all! Today I have for you something different than usual. March Kit is full of journaling and Project Life cards and the colors are perfect for me! White & pastels! So I decided to make a Project Life spread. It’s week 29. from my album.

We took part in a fancy dress party! I was a hippie girl and I must say it was super fun!

You know, Lennon glasses and all that stuff.. ūüôā

It was also a week were the first signs of spring were visible. More sun, flowers, and of course morning coffee (which I celebrate almost every day despite the season)!

It was super easy to create that spread with ¬†March “Hell Yeah” Kit!

Have a wonderful day!

Hi guys! Elisabetta here to show you 2 pages today!¬†I had a few pictures from a weekend that I wanted to include on a pocket page, but then I didn’t know what to put on the back, so I decided to print some random photos of things that I’m liking at the moment. ūüôā

IMG_4373 copia

I found pictures online of books that I read recently, of¬†TV series that I’m loving and I also¬†took¬†screenshots of the music that I’m listening to! I think that it’s important to document the little things too. ūüôā

Thank you for stopping by and I’ll see you soon. ūüôā

3 Creative Ways to Journal (without using a journal card)

I tend not to use a lot of journaling cards in my pocket page layouts because I feel like the story should be told through the pictures and then¬†write just enough to tell what’s going. ¬†Of course there are always exception to the rule, but what if you just don’t like to journal or your have too many pictures to have space for a journaling card? ¬†Today, I’ve got 3 ¬†ways to incorporate journaling in a creative way if you are anything are like me:)

  • ¬†Tag it:¬†¬†You can always attach a tag to a picture but why not attach it to a journaling card?! ¬†Don’t you think sometimes ‘How on earth am I going to fill up this card with what’s going on?’? ¬†Easy enough, this January kit came with so many tags, use them in this style then your are assured not to stress about the wide open space.
  • Journal on an Embellishment:¬† Find and open space and use it! This feather had a long line of white space to write my thoughts in. ¬†I think it also adds a bit of whimsy when you’re looking for what happened and your eye catches these hidden gems. ¬†It doesn’t have to be a lot of space either.

3. ¬†Write on the Picture:¬†¬†Yes…You Can! ¬†What is the worst that could happen?! Have to print it out again or cover it up with a tag? ¬†Your hand writing is you and part of who you are. Embrace it and make your layout perfectly you!

Thanks for stopping by!

Yearbook: Double Pocket Page Layout

Hello Clique Friends!! Leigh here, to share a Pocket Page Layout from my main album! Love these exclusive cards from the Clique Into December Kit!! ¬†All the cards below, except the white 3×4 cards, are from this kit!

These cards were so easy to work with! They coordinate perfectly with the Pinkfresh Studio embellishments from this kit. So I just added my photos and printed some journaling on the title card for a super quick layout!

I have a little video tutorial for you, showing you how to create the pocket page window card above. I got the idea because I wanted to highlight the acrylic embellishments in this kit.

LOdynski_Dec15_ProjectLifeSneakFor this quick pocket card, you can add a die cut and stitch on one of the die cut phrases included in the Pinkfresh Studio Card Stock Die Cut pack.

Super clean and simple!

Watch the short, three minute tutorial in the above You-tube video!

Yearbook: Pocketpages for Event Scrapbooking

Hello it’s Melissa¬†here with my first post as a Varsity Team member! ¬†I’m so excited to share some inspiration with you today and I have to admit that I fell in love as soon as I saw the gorgeous November Tapestry kit!

I have a little secret to share with you today! ¬†I’ve tried Project Life twice, done it for 6 months both times, and then stopped! ¬†The first time I did it on a¬†weekly basis,¬†and the second time on a monthly basis. ¬†I still pull out these albums and look at them, and I love the elements of our everyday life that I captured and recorded. ¬†So although¬†Project Life is¬†not be for me right now, I absolutely love creating pocket pages, especially¬†when I have extra photos of a special day, event or holiday (and I don’t want to make a mini album). ¬†I also love the variation that different types of page protectors provide in my albums.

When my kit arrived I immediately pulled out some older 2012 Instagram photos I’d recently printed of our annual¬†Autumn Festival. ¬† Its an even we attend every year, and in 2012 both of my kids were in the festival parade. ¬†The We R Memory Keepers Wildflower collection has the most beautiful rich colours, and the kit was perfect for the photos. ¬†Here is a look at my spread:

Whenever I’m making pocket pages I love to take my favourite techniques from traditional scrabooking and apply¬†them at a smaller scale. ¬†So for this spread I’ve included¬†gold colour shine¬†splatters, layering and machine stitching. And of course I always have to journal! ¬†I made my title card with a fussy cut flower, bow, letter stickers, Dear Lizzy Thickers and some gold splatters. ¬†Machine stitching finished it off.

FEst title1

This card features a photo of my kids dressed for the festival parade (and yes my son is not happy with the “ever-present always taking photos for the scrapbooks” Mum!!). ¬†The tag was perfect for my journalling, and I¬†stapled on a small heart embellishment for some interest. ¬†The twine from the kit and machine stitching were the final touch.

We don’t have foxes in New Zealand, but he was so super cute I had to include him! ¬†I made this journalling card from a piece of the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane 6×6 paper pad (a kit add-on in the store), and the fox and “documented” tag were perfect to tell the story of the¬†festival float parade.

This close up shows how I layered an exclusive printable tag with a sticker and a heart.  And how gorgeous is that red text paper!

My final close up is my favourite card of them all! ¬†I started with the exclusive “I adore you” card and paired it with my favourite photo of my daughter. ¬†I layered my embellishments and added texture with staples and machine stitching. ¬†Running the embellishments off the edge is a technique I love too! ¬†Some gold colour shine finished it off!

Thanks so much for looking! ¬†I hope I’ve inspired you to mix up your traditional scrapbooking with some pocket pages.

See you again later in the month ūüôā

Yearbook: 6×8 Project Life Album

Hello Clique Kits friends! Leigh here, with a super easy 6×8 size Project Life layout using the adorable October journal cards and printables.

That macaron card is adorable! The ice cream 3×4 card is sweet! Perfect for any sweet pics you have.

I simply printed the selected October journal cards and one inch punch outs onto a white textured piece of card stock.

You can also add any journaling you want to include, and print it out along with the printables. Use any one inch punch to get the circles cut out.

Add a few embellishments, like the Pinkfresh Studio wood veneer circles from the kit.

Love the black and white journal cards included this month! This 6×8 size is so doable. Just a couple of photos does it. All the cards on these pages are from October Funfetti Kit!

All supplies from the October Funfetti Kit.

A pocket page a month

Hello friends. I am happy to announced that I haven’t given up on pocket pages yet. It’s been six months that I have been scrapping one pocket page per month of my favorite photo. This is a simpler approach for me where as most scrappers prefer to scrap a two page spread for their project life spread. I have tried doing project life spreads weekly, but it takes too much time. And¬† have tried creating a monthly project life spread that didn’t go well because I could never narrow down the photos that I wanted to use so that is why I select one of my favorite photos from the month and create a page around the photo. It works for me and maybe it will work for some of you who are on the fence about project life.

Here’s my favorite photo from the month of June. It was from Edward’s last day of school. He absolutely LOVED the pony ride. My sisters and I were contemplating on skipping out on the pony ride, but then Edward saw them and the rest was history. So we waited in line so that he could ride the pony.

Locker Room: My Daily Bread & Inspiration!

Hello! Cassandra here and good day to all! Hope your weekend had been well spent! Here’s sharing two project life pages I did recently with the August Ambrosia Collection!

1These were some of the supplies used in creating the Project Life Pages. I like putting the small embellishments into containers for easy reference and to prevent them from getting blown away. I am using the WRMK plastic protector sheets with Instagram square sizes.

2For starters, I chose the photos I wanted and printed them square sized. *These inspiring picture quotes were taken from Proverbs 31¬†and head over¬†if you are interested in¬†more inspiring quotes.* Then I cut the patterned papers randomly into 4×4″ each.

IMG_4508Here’s how the first page looks like. I decided to add some sequins into one of the pockets to add a fun element and sealed it by sewing it through. The rest were created by layering the embellishments together. Here are some of the details:

4This was sealed with a sewing machine. Here’s the second page of my PL spread:

IMG_4515I added sequins too on the flip side so both sides have sequins in the pockets and sealed tightly with the sewing machine! Supplies were all from this month’s kit:

486063_origThanks so much for dropping by! Hope you like my project! Till my next update, take care and God Bless!

Hi everyone! Sandy here to share with you a layout I made with the I AM Gold kit and the theme for my layout is “connected.” I AM CONNECTED….everyday through social media I post snapshots of everyday moments, celebrations, vacations and even¬†a selfie. It is because of social media I stay connected to my family and friends and I have developed new friendships.

The¬†I AM GOLD¬†kit was made so that we can document more about ourselves and know that if I look through my social media feed¬†like Instagram and Facebook. I can find pictures of me that I can use for the I AM GOLD kit.¬†I want my kids to know the connection I have with my family and with my friends because it is¬†through¬†all of the¬†people and experiences¬†that has made¬†me…ME! I want my kids to be able to look¬†through my I AM album and know that who I¬†am because of all the influences I have in my life. I AM Connected.
