Wonderful Winter

study-hall

Hello & welcome back…Dani here today to share my December Daily pages 3 & 4 with you.  Today I wanted to feature the 2016 Clique Into The Holidays kit.  I literally squealed with joy when I first opened this kit!  It has got to be one of my all-time favorite kits EVER!! 🙂

letitsnow-fullkit

I cut a few tabs, labels & frames out with my Cuttlebug..yes I know its old school, but I still love using it!  Using your diecut machines & Silhouette with the coordinating papers really adds to the over-all cohesiveness of your project.

I just love all the exclusive cards that come in this kit..especially the adorable bunny rabbit with his scarf & snow cap.  Speaking of cards, I wanted to mention we have a few exclusive Holiday card kits left in the store, grab one today.

Here’s a few more close-ups of my spread using the 2016 Clique Into The Holidays kit:

To finish off my spread I decided to add a smaller pocket page in between the 2 pages.  I had these in my stash and they are designed by Simple Stories.  It was so FUN to pull out my Fuse tool & make a shaker pocket, using some of the Snow & Cocoa ephemera, wood veneers, pom poms & sequins that come in the kit.  I love how it came out & the different size pages really adds a unique touch I think, as well.

Are you doing a December Daily or special Christmas project/s this year?  We would love for you to share them with us on Facebook &/or Instagram.  We simply LOVE seeing what you do with our products & kits…your creativity always exceeds our expectations!!

If you would like to stop by my YouTube channel, I will have the process video up later today.  You can also check out Days 1 & 2 of my December Daily while you’re there. 🙂

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will stop by Clique Kits & check out these amazing products & MORE!!

Merry Christmas! XO~Danni

Yearbook-Instant Journal Cards

blog-image_yearbook

I met my mail lady in the yard, opened it within 10 seconds and started working with it 1 minute after that.  Yes, my Cliquers…..it is that FANTASTIC!

The colors matched so well with the last of my 2015 pictures (insert hang head in shame emoji here:), it was such a cinch to put together!

I have never done a Design Z layout so I thought it was about time to try!

It came with these Kaiser Art 2-sided journal card paper where I got this triangular and moon shaped card.

All I did was add a yellow plus sign from the Dear Lizzy ‘Hello’ Thickers and bam! Instant card.  Thicker hearts were also added to the door in the picture below.

By far my favorite piece of paper from the whole kit!

Exclusive Clique Kits designed paper is what I used for both journaling cards!

I had fun with with this 3×4 piece of exclusive paper by adding a whole bunch of word stickers from Pretty Little Studio and some enamel dots to finish it out!

This bottom card is a a hodge podge of Thickers, paper and end cuts.

What a fabulous kit this month!  I will definitely be using every last inch!

Thanks for stopping by!

Go. See. Do

Blog Image_Yearbook

Hi scrappers. Hope you’re having a great week. Today, I am going to share with you, what I’ve been working on for a few weeks in spurts. Have you seen the Clique into Summer Limited Edition kit? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this kit and I especially love the exclusives that came with the kit. I think I have a few scraps left. hehe

Before I did anything, I made a few collages using Ipiccy so that I could print photos that would fit into the Instagram sized sleeves. I have so many fun memories from this summer that I want to scrapbook and the easiest way to do this is by using a pocket page format! Something different for me, but fun!

I am still working on this album and will probably still be working on it in September, but I wanted to take a moment to share with you how my album is coming along. I JUST LOVE IT. 🙂 I hope you do too.

And here is the cover of my album! I am totally digging the flamingo. We might still have a few of these left if you’re interested. Click here.
Thanks so much for visiting today!

The Devil is in the Details

Blog Image_Yearbook

Pocket pages are supposed to be simple; put a piece of paper in a plastic pocket with some photos and writing and you’re done.  While the overall project would get done and done quicker, would it get done so that I would like it in the end?

For me, the Devil is in the Details. The letter stickers, fussy cut heart from one of the 6 x 6 papers and ephemera flag work together to create a corner of happiness in this layout.

I used the packaging from the Elle’s Studio ephemera pack and turned up the corner on this card. A large print, small print and stripe are always a winning combination.

This card I decided to fringe this paper a bit thinking the pocket page could use a little texture. I know it would not be at it’s full potential since it will be placed in the pocket but it really will make a difference in the long run.

Using the cut aparts to journal on the picture, which is mounted on a ‘little moments” paper, is quick way to add a specific thought to a picture.  Attaching it with stamps adds another layer of love!

Honestly, I have never used completely clear acrylic die cuts. As for the ones from JellyBean Soup included in the kit,  I added a special touch to it to make them sparkle! (I’d love to spill the beans but I’ll show you how I did that on June 2nd!)

Finally adding something bold, like the family sticker to draw you eye to the picture below, is always a favorite trick of mine!  Now, try imagining this layout with 5 plain pieces of paper.  See?!

I totally appreciate you stopping by. Until next time….

Yearbook: Week 8 with Simple Stories

blog-image_yearbook

Hey there again!  Kim here to share a pocket page layout using some fun treats out of the April Clique Kit!

Week 9 was a big one in our family as we were moving into our home! I took way to many pictures (if that is even possible) so I’ve ended up with 4 double sided pocket pages in an assortment of sizes.  It was so easy to put together too because this kit has so many fun filler and journal cards!

I used the 4 x 4 card paper to snatch these two filler cards as well as the 3 x 4 card in the card on the main page.

Instead of cutting this diagonally designed filler card where it was intended,  I just left the endpaper on because it matched the card below and cut 1/2 inch below the top.

Seriously!?!?  This coffee cup with the heart!  Had to include that since no move is complete without donuts and coffee!

Don’t think I forgot about journaling!  I just took a fine tip sharpie and write on the “door”, then added the life strip die cut and a piece of wood grained paper and attached it with a stapler. Viola!  Instant journal card!

This kit is primed for many pocket page layouts. Enjoy it!

Yearbook: Easy Holiday Scrapbooking

blog-image_yearbook

Hello!  It’s Melissa here and I’m so happy to be back with you this month!  Today I’m sharing with you the easiest way I’ve found to scrapbook photos from a family holiday we took last year.  I don’t know about you, but I scrapbook so much and aside from all my albums, I have so many layouts piling up (literally!).  In the school holidays last year we went on a road trip to two different New Zealand cities – the first was only for one night for my husband to attend an appointment, and then we headed north to Christchurch where he attended a conference.  The kids and I were along for the ride!

I’m using the fabulous April kit “Origins”, which features gorgeous product by Simple Stories “Life in Color” and “Carpe Diem” collections.  Simple Stories always have amazing cut apart sheets, so perfect for pocket scrapbooking.  Here is a look at the kit:

12074729_487884244729749_4375847495990477867_n

Because we were in two cities, and road tripping, I organised my photos and then worked out what sized page protectors I’d use.  The first two photos were from our guesthouse in Dunedin, so I decided to used a 6×12 Becky Higgins page protector to start the telling of my story.  As always, when it comes to pocket scrapbooking, I kept my embellishment simple.

chch1

The second page captured one photo from our Moeraki Boulders stop (I’ve already made a mini album of these photos) and unpacking at the Christchurch holiday home we stayed in.  I used labels from the ephemera pack for my journalling.

chch2

For my next pages I moved on 12×12 WR Memory Keepers page protectors.  These photos were taken of our home for the week.  I made a conscious effort to take photos inside the house so we’d always remember.  And of course Sam had to photo bomb two photos!  The top journaling spot is an exclusive printable label.

chch3

The fourth page includes a photo of the joy that was across the road from our house – Coffee Culture!! Perfect for the coffee addict that I am!  I used the “everyday” exclusive die cut from last months kit.  We had an awesome time at Sumner Beach, and an adventure as you can read in my journalling!

chch4

On our final day we went to Orana Wildlife Park, which is New Zealand’s only open range zoo.  We had so much fun watching and looking for the animals.  The photos were very self explanatory, so only needed minimal journalling and embellishment.

chch6

The final page documents the kids playing at the park.  With young children we visit a lot of parks!  Because the photos were so busy I kept everything simple again.  The Simple Stories clear stickers were perfect for embellishment directly onto my photos.

chch5

I hope you enjoyed my process for documenting our holiday.  Making these spreads makes me realise how important it is that we as the scrapbooker get out from behind the camera, if I could turn back time I’d make sure I was in some of the photos too.

Have a blessed Easter.

How to Scrapbook Extra Photos

Blog Image_YearbookHi everyone its Melissa here and I’m back today some pocket pages made with the gorgeous Hot Mess kit! But before I share my project, I would like to remind you that there’s still time to participate in Clique Kits and Bella Blvd’s hop. Be sure to leave a comment on the blogs so you don’t miss out on a chance of winning an XOXO kit of your own. Click here to participate in the hop! This time last year we went to the next Lake to the north called Wanaka for three day mini holiday.  We live in a very busy tourist alpine resort, and it was great to escape to a quieter lake.  I’ve scrapped lots of 12 x 12 traditional pages about this holiday, but still had several photos left over which weren’t special enough to justify their own page.

Wanaka1The Maggie Holmes Shine collection was perfect for scrapping these photos, especially the ones taken at the Transport and Toy Museum. This next page is the back of the first page, and the next two pages are about the museum.Wanaka22Our oldest son loves Star Wars and was so excited to see old toys!  The cut apart sheet sentiments and “Rad” flair badge explained his delight!Wanaka3I made my own journaling cards with white cardstock, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine, stamps by Honey Bee Stamps and some of the exclusive printable banners.  I love how they turned out!Wanaka7This exclusive card was a fantastic spot for more journaling.  I just added a heart sticker to cover the staple from attaching the acetate piece on the reverse.Wanaka5The vintage images in the Shine ephemera were perfect for documenting the now retro toys, and I used the shadow box for my little card.Wanaka4Its always a perfect day when you get to sit in a Starfighter!Wanaka9I hope you enjoyed a look into how I scrap my extra photos!  These pages will go into our family album, and our family will love to look back on them in the years to come.

Thanks so much for looking 🙂

100% Successful Layout

blog-image_art-studio

If you want a sure-fire way to finish with a successful layout there is ONE thing you can do to ensure that.

Go MONOCHROMATIC

That means pick ONE color from ONE picture and repeat it throughout your layout!

In this pocket page layout, I decided to repeat the color red which I got from the bleacher chairs behind Tyler.

We love ephemera but adding elements that have red already in them will always draw everything together.

I introduced another color, in this case is black,  It’s in small doses that I’ve included an accent color. That way it doesn’t compete with the primary color.

Doing a monochroatic layout may make your finished product “flat”.  Add texture by height to add some shadowing!

Lastly, if you have more than one picture, it’s helpful to make sure all the other pictures you’ve included are neutral in color.  Again, no competition!

Good luck on your next 100%  sure thing layout!

XOXOX

Pocket Style Without the Pockets

Yearbook

I have always valued a pocket page for it’s simplicity of design and ease of use.  But what if you’re not into pocket pages or you just don’t want to feel constrained by those tiny plastic boxes!?

Oedekoven_Oct15_Permit-sion_fullScrapbooking in a way that is organized with fixed symmetry can be put together in no time!

The Pink Fresh Studio paper with the 3 x 3 squares is what got me on the right track for a grid design.  I printed out my pictures from Walgreens in a 3 photo collage format leaving the 3rd section blank in a regular 4×6 picture.  Without the 3rd collage picture, it creates some blank space below the pictures that could be used for journaling but in this case, I just used it for white space between the squares. Bonus – two pictures for the price of one!

Oedekoven_Oct15_Permit-sion_detail1

A scrappers trick to adding some interest to simple design is HEIGHT!  Add some cardboard or foam stickies under each element.  The height gives it an illusion of being more complex than it really is 🙂

Oedekoven_Oct15_Permit-sion_detail2

I did enjoy placing our Clique Kits Gold Confetti Sequins in sets of three in each row between the pictures – thought it added some sparkle and uniformity.  Since stitching is one of my first loves, I created a border with three different thread types and stitch length.  Then finished it off with journalling surrounding the whole layout.

Oedekoven_Oct15_Permit-sion_full

Thank you guys for welcoming me so warmly to the Clique Kits Family!  Looking forward to a year of getting to know all of my new Family!
