Love This Cabin Life

art-studioHi Everyone!   Audrey here to share a little bit of “art” with you today!

When I saw the sapphire kit this month, I REALLY wanted to try and use these colors for a fall themed page.  At first glance, it may not seem like a fall-ish kit, but with just a touch of brown, you can really achieve a fall-like feel!

I began by adding some brown mists in different shades to my background and painting them on with a water color brush.

I then punched some leaves from a few of the more “solid” color papers in the kits in navy, mustard, mint, and pink.  I clustered these leaves behind the photos with some of the other “real” copper colored leaved included in the kit.

I stitched a circle to help ground the photo and the title together.

I was hesitant about adding in that little bit or orangy-red, but I’m glad I did!

How is this kit inspiring you to create a fall page?  Please share!

Geek Lab: Writing + Acetate Title

geeklab

Hello there, how are you? Caroli here, and I’m so happy to be posting again at Clique Kits blog 🙂 Today I want to show you this layout I made using July kit RASKOG, which features lovely Life Noted collection by Pinkfresh Studio.

When I saw this kit, the first thing that caught my eye was the acetate words and prases, I love the clear look and started thinking how could I take advantage of their transparency, and this idea came to my mind.

As you may know, Silhouette machines are good not only for cuting but also for writing with the help of sketch pens (or with any pen if you usue a pen adapter) so I decided to use my machine and a black sketch pen to draw part of the title (I used Rage Italic font). Once part of my title was written, I completed the phrase with some of the acetate words of the set. I made sure the acetate words were slightly over the drawn title for a better effect:

I love the colors and patterns in this collection, this patterned paper sheet was specially filled with patterns but it does not look noisy at all, how cool is that! I think that it makes a great background.

I love the rubbers embellishments, thay are so colorful an add a lot of dimension to any project. Also I fell in love with those puffy hearts from the add-ons, aren’t the custest hearts ever?!

And here is my full layout. It’s quite simple but funny and colorful. I love how my title came out!

Locker Room – When Less is More

blog-image_locker-room

Hello!  It’s Melissa here with my last post for this month!  For my layout today I really wanted to focus on the beautiful sequin mix from Spieglemom Scraps.  So I decided to make a type of shaker feature with one of the exclusive “Summer” cut files from the Raskog kit.

In order to make the pockets, I used some clear plastic packaging and my trusty Tombo Mono Multi liquid glue.  It was very fiddly, and I wasn’t sure whether it would even work, but it did.  The sequins don’t actually shake in the pocket, but they still give the illusion that they do.

In order to balance out my layout and keep the title (and photo of course) as the main feature, I kept my embellishment to a minimum.  In fact, I didn’t really embellish this layout at all except to add one of the cut apart phrases, and a strip of the yellow embossing plastic (dry embossed with flowers).

I love those Pink Fresh Studio acetate words, and I especially love how they look machine stitched.

Thanks so much for looking!  Have an amazing weekend.

Locker Room – 2 Simple and Fast Christmas Cards

blog-image_locker-room

Hello everybody! How are you today? Are you done with your Christmas shopping and gift wrapping? As for me, I’m done with shopping and wrapping, but I still need to make few more cards to give to friends and family, so I used my fabuous Clique Into December Kit and started working.

The first card I made is quite simple, I stamped the bear from the lovely stamp set of Christmas Wishes collection (featured by the kit) and then added a little fram and a sentiment from the ephemera pack.

The final touch was some round and star shaped sequins, because everything looks better with few sequins! And that’s all! Super fast and yet cute, I bet you can make some of this in seconds 😉

For my second card I used circles. I punched few circles from one paper included on thr kit and then used foam dots for giving dimension to one of them. Also, I used the little mouse (isn’t that the cutest embellishment ever!!!) and a little sentiment  from the puffy stickers set, also using some fom dots.

Finally, I glued few sequins and little acrilic stars, gorgeous accent of this collection and kit.

I hope you like the idea of these cards and give them a try! They are cute and simple, the perfect option for those last minute gifts.  Have a lovely day and Happy Holidays!
