Field Notes- I <3 NY mini album

 

Hey everyone!  Today I am sharing a little mini album that I made with the December “Wonderland” kit.  I was really inspired by the black and white elements in the kit.  I had been meaning to do a little mini of our trip to NYC last December, and although I scrapped a few of the photo from my trips, I wanted to put more of them together in a little book.

I was trying to mimic a kind of traveler’s notebook, and though this Bella Blvd acetate sheet would make a great cover for the album.

For my inside pages, which I wanted to be white, I was thinking of using just plain printer paper, but it was too thin to stand up the embellishing I wanted to do.  And white cardstock was too thick. While looking for some other papers, I had an “Ah-ha!” moment when I stumbled across a pack of plain white card envelopes.  So my album pages are made from envelopes.  I stitched down the envelope flaps (alternating the direction of the envelopes) and added the acetate cover on the front.  On the small envelope flaps, I glued some of the 3×4 and 4×6 cards that are exclusive to this kit and backed them with paper.

For my pages, I kept it real simple.  I added a few black splatters and some snips of patterned papers with phrases from the Pink Paislee Moonshine collection.  I punched some circles from the Bella Blvd paper and used them to write the location.  Finally, I added some black and white tabs to the edge of each page and my journaling as well.

Yearbook : Documenting Our Family Today

Hello there! Caroli here and today I want to share with you a very special mini album I made using the beautiful April kit Origins, featuring Life in Color collection by Simple Stories.

As you may know, I just had a baby boy last  March,  and before he was born me and my family had a photo shoot just to document my pregnancy and our family of 3, before it became a family of 4.

This photo shoot was something I really wanted to do; on my first pregnancy I didn’t care too much about taking pics of myself and now I regret I don’t have any decent pic of me while waiting for my baby girl 😦 So, I am really happy we got to have these pics taken. Of course I wanted to scrap them properly, and what better than the beautiful papers and embellishments of April kit!

I used this Tolsby photo frame by Ikea I ‘ve been hoarding for months waiting for a special project. This was perfect because I can use many of the thousand of pics we had taken and also because its format allows it to be displayed in a shelve of my living room, so anyone who comes to visit us can take a look and see how huge I was, LOL!

 

For the cover I used this gorgeous leaves wreath, an exclusive cutfile of this April kit, I love it and want to use it everywhere! I also used a piece of the white hearts Clear Cuts by Bella Blvd., I think it’s a great accent for a mini album cover.

These are the pages of the mini; as you can see, I used almost all the patterned papers and embellishments of the kit, love the color combination. I also used some leaves from the exclusive cutfiles of the kit.

Something I love and often make on my mini albums is including some kind of journaling text on most of the pages, specially over the pictures. In this mini I used the alpha by Bella Blvd. included on the kit to add some text on my pages and complement it with the clear stickers by Simple Stories, included on the kit as well.

 

I hope you like the idea of this mini album, it makes a great decorative element for your home and also documents in a beautiful and creative way some special moment or event of our lives.

Locker Room-Mini Clipboard

Hi Clique Kit friends!  Candace here with you today to share a mini clipboard project I created using the February Hot Mess kit.  I love all Maggie Holmes collections so when she releases a new collection I usually buy it all up!  I create away, but her collections are so jam packed with goodies that I often have a bunch left over.  When I got the Hot Mess kit I looked thru my stash to see if I had anything that I wanted to use up and I found these little clipboards that are from her 1st collection.

I cut up various papers from the kit to 5.25 x 7 including the acetate.  I also made some 5×7 envelopes to layer in between the patterned paper and acetate.  Then I went to embellishing!  I had so much fun creating this project!  I did some gold embossing on the wood veneers, painted some wood veneers, did a little sewing.  So much fun!  Here is a look at how it all came together!

Clique Into The Holidays Kick Off!

I can’t believe I’m saying this already but..
