Yearbook: Trolls

blog-image_yearbook

Hi all. This month, I made it a goal of mine to scrapbook a layout using the printables that came with the December kit. I ALWAYS forget to use these because I forget to print them out and then when I do think about them, my kit is almost gone. So, this month, I printed them off first before I even received the kit.

Initially, I was going to prep this page for the December kit, but once I started applying the printables and photos, I needed things like washi tape, enamel dots, puffy stickers… all items that I’ve been hoarding from the Clique Kit shop. 🙂 I like being a hoarder of supplies because you never know what you might need until you actually need it. So don’t forget the Clique Kit shop because we have a great variety of products available to be shipped with you kit each month.

I cut the Movie Night Hexagon in half and then moved them around the bottom of the photo collage until I was happy with the placement. I always save my tickets from when I go to the movies. Rather than keeping the tickets in my wallet, I decided to use it on my layout.

I really don’t know what got into me… I just couldn’t stop adding stuff to this layout.  I am just glad that some of this stuff is finally getting used.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope to see lots of projects using the printables from the December kit. Lacey did a fabulous job on them!

Art Studio: Capturing Life Today

Art Studio

Hi everyone. I have a fun, creative, mixed media layout to share with you using the September Moon Child kit. I’ve been playing with my stamps and spray mists. I saw this sketch on Creative Scrapper’s blog, I immediately wanted to give it a try. Especially since I had a 4×6 photo that I wanted to scrap, but didn’t know what design I wanted to use. Sometimes, it can be tricky scrapping a 4×6 photo onto an 8 1/2″x11″ layout.

Creative Scrappers - The Cut Shoppe August2016 297(1)

I used the arrow stamps by Precious Remembrance to create a fun background for my layout. Isn’t it fun. I love Teal! It’s my favorite color. Also, I had a few scraps left over from the exclusive paper from this month’s kit and decided to use them. Sometimes, when I love a certain paper, I have a hard time throwing away the scraps. So… I hoard them. Hey, there’s no shame in that. Right?!

For fun, I added the big tag in the background that I had from my stash. And I used the polka dot paper that I had from my stash since Cooper is a Dalmatian with very few spots, I decided to add a few spots to the layout. I hand-cut the star and sentimental journaling from patterned paper.

Locker Room: Awesome

blog-image_locker-room

Good morning scrappers! Have you been in our shop lately? There’s lots of goodies to be had. Like, Crate Paper, American Crafts and We R Memory Keepers to name a few. I just received a big box from Clique Kits last week and I felt like Christmas came early, but my wallet disagreed with me. LOL. Today I want to share this adorable layout with you. Edward is CRAZY about collecting these little Mine Craft dudes so I wanted to create a layout for him. I think I’ll buy a frame and hang it up in his room if he likes it.

Initially, I was going to grab a sketch and start scrapping, but then I wasn’t sure I wanted to do a sketch. I was all over the place. And then I looked over at the bowl of washi tapes on my desk and thought to myself, ” I really need to use those.” I started this layout by pulling a few washi tapes out of the bowl that would go with the color scheme of my layout. I just love the “Cool Kid” collection by Crate Paper. It is so perfect for scrapping your boys. My son is already trying to take my rubber embellishments from me so I just ordered another set with my add-ons for this month. I used several strips of washi to decorate my paper.

Then I used Picmonkey to create a collage of my photos. This is a free program if you just need to do basic editing.

Once I had my photos printed, I pulled out a few die cuts that I wanted to use.  I LOVE the tags and the “Toys Rule” cut-apart. I just started moving everything around until I was happy with the placement. At the last minute, I decided to create another collage of photos to tuck behind the top tags.

I added a few embellishments here and there. The rubber embellishment would not stay on the paper with a glue dot so I used a gel medium and it worked great! Here are a few close-ups. I can never add enamels right… They never look right, but they are there and wouldn’t come off without messing up the layout so I left them alone.

Geek Lab: Me

geeklab

Hello everyone. Nicole here with a fun layout. I am not sure if you’ve noticed, but I LOVE patterned paper. I love how you can get a semi-funky look by mixing different papers together. Sometimes, I don’t want my layout to look like everything coordinates perfectly. I like to mix it up a bit.

For this layout, I used a mixture of Fancy Pants Designs, Cocoa Vanilla and Clique Kit’s exclusive journaling cards! I love the sentiment of the journaling card from the July “Raskog” kit and decided to use it for this layout. The others journaling cards came with the Rio kit!

I used a few of the add-ons on this layout. I love the washi tape and enamel dots. I simply cannot get enough of them. I tied a piece of ribbon from my stash onto the clip and stapled the string from my tag onto the layout to prevent the string from moving around. For the photo, I used a photo editing program to create a collage of photos and then printed it out so I’d have a nice square sized photo for my project. I painted the veneer with the Don’t Citron Me Coloringz from Shimmerz Paints and sprayed some in the background of my layout. We have some Shimmerz Paints in the store! Click here to check out the add-ons and mixed media products we have in the store.

Locker Room: Jody’s Smiley Clouds :)

Blog 4

Oh happy, smiley Friday CK fans!! I’m back with a light and airy layout featuring this sweet & whimsical paper by Studio Calico called Up & Away.  So fun!!   I’m so excited about this kit and I’m thinkin’ you all are too.  The papers are unique and the embellishments are just fabulous!  Like Erica mentioned yesterday, this kit is sold out, but you can visit our Clique Kits store and check out all the new inventory we’ve added…swoon!!

Now, because this paper is so super cute, I didn’t want to cover it all up.  So to keep it ‘light’, I added a 4×4 inch Instagram photo of our Abby, on top of a couple layers of papers from Studio Tekturek, Sodalicious and Studio Calico, then I added a Maggie Holmes Fabric Frame on top.  Next up, the cut files!!  I cut a couple of our exclusive Clique Kits cut files and placed them onto my layout.  The files are “Hide & Seek” and the super cool sunglasses.  Aren’t they fabulous!!

To keep my layout feeling light and airy, I added some scattered embellishment clusters and my favorite May Arts pink burlap string.  I swirled the pink burlap string into some whimsical circles to highlight the words and elements already built into the Up & Away Paper.  This made it easy to not add much more to my layout.  Check out all of the Study Abroad kit embellishments right HERE in our school store.

And here are a few more follow up photos.  The white heart paper clip is from Stampin Up! and the chevron shaped wood veneer is from the fabulous Pink Fresh Studios!  As you can see, I also added some of my handwriting to this layout in small bits.  I used the Pink Fresh Enamel Label Frames to frame out some small bits of journaling ~ August 2014 and ABBY GRACE along the right side of the layout.  I also added some Bella Blvd black arrow stickers from my stash around my layout for some more fun contrast!

Just like the wording on this paper “oh what a beautiful day!”  I hope you’ve enjoyed my layout today!  If you haven’t heard yet, Clique Kits kicked off it’s first monthly challenge this month.  It’s Anything Goes with a twist, a twist of Pink Fresh Studios that is!  Check our the Challenge Post here.

Have a great day everyone!
