Hello everybody! I am sharing my very first layout using the July Clique Kit. I love the pretty papers and embellishments in this kit. And I really like the Pretty Little Studio paper, flair and transparency. Fun kit! The colors make me so happy.
I tried to keep this layout simple by adding some yellow and blue Shimmerz mists in the background. I added a 1/4″ border around the edge of the white cardstock using a ruler and a black pen. And because I couldn’t get enough of the pretty transparency, I cut the “always” image out using scissors and added a puffy sticker on top of the transparency and adhered it to the bottom of the layout.
I cut the flowers from the Pretty Little Studio cut-apart paper and used a foam square to make the middle of the flower pop off the page. The leaves are actually Altenew stamps!
I used the transparency to cover one of the die cut tags above the photos. And I tucked strips of paper “branding strips” slightly behind the photos.

Here are some close ups for you! As you can see, the triangles are white in my layout. They came a plain brown color but I really wanted them to have a softer look. I decided to heat emboss them with Ranger White Embossing Power to achieve this look. It’s very easy to do! All you need to do is to press the chipboard pieces into your Versamark ink pad to get them nice and sticky. Then, just shake some embossing power of your choice over the pieces and heat set them!
In the photo below you get a much closer look at the little finishing touches I added along the right side of my photo. I fussy cut a bunch of the little hearts from the super sweet Amy Tangerine paper with all the little watercolor hearts inside the Polaroids. I also added some teal ink to a few fabulous little Heidi Swapp resist die cuts. I still wanted to add a little soft sparkle on this layout so I added some 10 mm Moonshine sequins and silver triangle sequins which are not in the kit. The little photo negative acetate piece is from Tim Holtz (from my stash.)

Oh happy, happy first day of December!! For many of us, holiday traditions are in full swing beginning today; Elf on the Shelf, 12 Days of Christmas, Advent, an annual Christmas tree hunt or just a good ‘ol fashion countdown to Christmas with your family!! This season also brings us what has come to be known as the December Daily, which always seemed daunting and overwhelming to me. It’s beautiful, don’t get me wrong. Doing this really makes a mini album interesting, interactive and chunky! The chunkier the better when it comes to mini albums, I say.
