Locker Room:

Hi friends,

Melissa with you here again and I’ve got another card to share with you, today, using the beautiful May Sorbet Kit! Today, I want to help you think “outside of the box” a bit. When I saw this sheet of lovely paper, from Pinkfresh Studio, in the kit – I knew I wanted to utilize it on a card. I could go the typical route and cut out a square, or two, to layer and create a sentiment. However, the more I thought about, the more I wanted to see how much I could pack on a card. A standard A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) sized card.

So, I busted out the scissors and got snipping! And snipping! And snipping!

“This is very therapeutic”, I thought! And, I the design was beginning to take shape in my brain. I got pretty excited to showcase how to use all the little bits in your kit and to make it go farther!
Dare2Dream5

After I got it all snippy snipped, I arranged the pieces, just so, on my card base. That was fun too. Almost like a puzzle but, more fun. At least to me. I’m not a huge fan of puzzles. 😉

Dare2Dream6

Then, the next step came. How can I dress this card up more and keep using up all the awesome items in this kit??? We have those awesome buttons and all the gorgeous ephemera. Oh… this could get fun! So, I stuck and I layered and put.

Here is the final product:

Dare2Dream1

Yeah??? How fun is that?

I managed to include just about every color and imagery from this collection. Which, I was really happy about because I really love all the designs with this paper collection. It’s so pretty and light with a nice mod twist to it.

Here are a few close ups to show the layers and dimension:

So fun! This kit is SO fun! And I just know you are going to create and create and create with it. Don’t have one yet? Well, allow me to send you to the right place to get your own May Sorbet Kit! <—just click on that link.

And, I do hope that you enjoyed my post today! Happy creating!

The Finishing Touch {Locker Room}

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hi friends,

Melissa here with you today and I’m sharing a couple cards using the awesome March Kit – Play. For this post, I’ve got a Cards with Melissa video for you. In this video, I’m taking two cards and showing you how to add the finishing touches with embellishments.

Specifically, I’m using the enamel dots and wood buttons that you can find, as add-ons, in the shop with the March kit.

hi2

Aren’t those buttons adorable?

For this first card, in the video, I’ll be showing you a card that I’ve already placed the papers, and even a couple of die cuts. But, it was missing something. I’ll show you the thought process to how I chose the buttons, and triangle enamel dots, and even get into the detail of why I chose to place them in the direction that I did.

loveyou2

For this second card, I’m showing you how simple embellishments, like the enamel dots and wood button, really do help ground and add that perfect finishing touch.

Are you ready for the video? Enjoy!

Here are the two cards in their full glory.

Thanks for joining me today!

Locker Room | Love card

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hi everyone,

Today, I want to show you a little card made with the Bee You Kit.
I absolutely wanted to create a Valentine card with this kit and here it is.

magalileluc_fb_card

As you can see, I’ve used layering to create dimension on the card, but I’ve also create a real volume with the central butterfly. It’s made it with the cork butterfly on which I’ve glued a paper butterfly cut in the Flock Hazelwood American Crafts paper. I think this paper was my favourite of the kit. There is so many way to use it.

An other way to use it is to add a beautiful background and that’s also what I did on the card.magalileluc_fb_card2

The little epoxy pink triangle is here to add a touch of colour above the butterfly and is perfectly assorted to the corrugated paper below the tag.

You may also have noticed that I slightly transform the tag from the Hazelwood paper. I’ve used the tag but I cut the lower part to add the beautiful border with white crosses on pink (also in the Hazelwood paper). I love that it created a type of ombre effect on the tag.

I hope this inspired you! I wish you a wonderful day!

Hello, Love

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hello everyone,

Melissa here with you today sharing a card that is utilizing all the bits and pieces of your kit and papers! I love the challenge of using every piece of product to the last itty bitty piece. If my tape runner can fit, it can be used!

For this card, I wanted to use some leftover strips that were remnants from a previous card. I could easily throw them away but, no. I shall use them! Plus, I want to make a card that shows off the beautiful colors and patterns of this beautiful collection from Maggie Holmes. The Gather collection is so gorgeous and I can’t stop creating with it!

So, I used a scallop border punch and created some strips to layer on my card. Once I got them where I wanted them, I did some stitching which is always a fun, and easy, way to add some texture.

dsc02410

How fun is that? I love the look of stitching I think it just enhances the overall base design of this card.

The rest of this card flowed pretty easily. I cut out one of the polaroid shapes from the patterned paper and used it to frame the sentiment. By mounting it on pop dots, it added some awesome dimension, I think. And how cute are those paper clips??? Easy and adorable embellishing!

Here is the final product. I’m so happy with how this card turned out!

As always, thanks for swinging by today and I hope this has given you more ideas on how to use every single piece of your kit while showing off the beauty of it as well!

“ABC Dude” Process Video

13719750_10206587473060803_1810682039379444486_o

I wanted to pull out the colors in the October kit, Sapphire, to use on a back-to-school page.  I thought the combination of navy, mustardy yellow, and aqua were a great palette, and some of the greys and blacks on the Pinkfresh patterned papers reminded me of a chalkboard look.

abc-dude

I wanted to do something with “ABC’s”, so I used a cut file to cut out my letters, making the rectangles just smaller than my photo to make the photo stand out more. You can see how I manipulated the cut file in my video below. I backed the letters with different colored papers.

abc-dude-2

My initial plan was to use kraft paper as the background, but I just wasn’t feeling it.  I had ONE whole sheet of patterned paper left in the kit, and it was a perfect fit!  I added a few more black splatters to match what was already on the paper, and then just layered my cut files and photo on.

abc-dude-3

To draw more attention to the photo, I want to have some “arrows” pointing towards it, and the triangles from one of the patterned paper were perfect for the job.  I tried to create a visual triangle with the colors at the top and bottom with the colors on the abc cards.

abc-dude-1

You can watch how I completed this page from start to finish below.  Hope you enjoy!

Locker Room: Hello

blog-image_locker-room

Hello friends! Leigh, here to share a Locker Room Layout and Process Video for my Hello layout.  I wanted to emphasize the papers in this kit for maximum impact. To do that I chose a white background and different patterns punched into leaf shapes.

LOdynskiAug2016HelloFull

Using a Fiskars palm frond punch, and papers from the 6×6 Millie And June Paper Pad by Fancy Pants Designs to draw your attention to the magenta flowers in the photo.

LOdynskiAug2016HelloLeft

By choosing the magenta pattern as the only solid color background patterned paper for the leaves, it kept the emphasis on that color in the photo. The rest of the fun patterns in the leaves play a supporting role and add interest.

LOdynskiAug2016Helloright

In this close up, you can see how I curled the edges of all the leaves up after stitching them to the layout. I then ran the die cut label from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Snip-its add-ons (available in the Clique Kits Shop)  through my printer to print the journaling.

Locker Room – Collage bankgrounds

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hello, I’m back again to share another fabulous project I made using this months  kit – Origins.

After creating a handful of layouts I always have plenty of scraps. I love this idea of creating a collage background using up your scraps of pattern papers. You can have so much fun with this, by creating lots of ready to go backgrounds. They are quick and easy and fun. I love simple patterns and then pops of color. You can let your inner freestyler out here.

This photo was taken from our Pearce family adventure in 2014. They are boab trees and they are my favorite tree.

“There are places I long to go”

Start by gathering all your scraps together and lay out on a base card stock.

CK locker room LPA

Once you are happy with your design simply adhere in place. Use a few sticker numbers and randomly place along with some washi strips.

Ck locker room LPB

Next add some stitching. It adds great detail.

Now select a few stamps shapes and quotes and randomly stamp.

CK locker room LPC

Create your own title using watercolors and a paint brush onto card stock. When dry hand cut and arrange on your layout.

CK locker room LPE

Once you are happy start to adhere everything. Add a few flicks and pools of water color to help blend in the painted title.

I hope today was fun and you free inspired to go create a few collage backgrounds. Thanks for popping by!

Locker Room:Patterned Paper Inspiration!

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hi there, its Melissa here again, and today I’m back with a 12 x 12 traditional layout for you, made with the amazing April Kit “Origins”.  Recently I had a request via a comment on my YouTube channel for more boy layouts, and it was from a friend who has three boys.  I have one boy (turing 9 on the 29th or March) and two girls (aged 6 and nearly 2), and of course there is also my husband.  But if you know my scrapbooking, you’ll know that I always gravitate towards girly product and layouts!  I’ve noticed that my daughters are starting to either catch up or take over my son in the number of layouts – not that its a competition, but I do scrapbook because I love to record their memories.

So I’ve decided to make an effort to scrap more pages of my son, and thats what todays layout is about!  I was totally inspired by this piece of paper called “Happy Little Moments”, and I knew I wanted to cut it up.

SS_LifeinColor_5004__05549.1452802249.200.200

Here is my layout featuring a photo of Sam jumping off the play tower after a Nerf War, which was his summer obsession this year (its currently Autumn here in New Zealand).  I made a process video (below) and you’ll see my process with deciding how to place the triangles once I’d cut them apart.

Life is Fun1I didn’t need to add much more patterned paper except for the border around my photo, because the background already had enough going on.  I made my title with one of the chipboard words (which you can purchase in the store as a kit add on here).Life is Fun2A close up of my triangles, I machine stitched around the outside, and then lifted up the edges for dimension and interest.Life is Fun3I love the look of joy on his face!  I used the wood veneer paper clip as an actual paper clip. You can purchase the wood veneer pack as a kit add on in the store here.Life is Fun4

And here is my process video.

Please check out and subscribe to my YouTube Channel if you enjoy my videos, and also to the Clique Kits YouTube Channel for more inspiration with these amazing kits!

Thanks so much for looking!  I hope your Easter weekend was blessed!
