Do you want to build a snowman?

geeklab

Hi everyone. Nicole here with another fun layout! Edward was so excited this year when we got so much snow on the East Coast. He didn’t know what to do with himself. He totally cracked me up by making a snowman out of snow, a strawberry, candy eyes and a whopper! He is so clever. HAHA.

The “Enchanted Meadow” kit really works great with the snow pictures. I love the blue, pink, orange and lime together! So very pretty. Kudos Clique Kits for creating another fabulous kit that is so versatile.

I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut out my little die cut star at the bottom and I free hand-cut my triangles at the top of the photo. Also, notice at the bottom how I used a tiny strip of patterned paper as my border? I didn’t have any washi tape that went with the colors so I made my own little strip and it worked great. Also, I hand-cut some of the polka dots from the patterned paper and adhered them all around the layout to make them pop!

Study Hall: Creating Clusters

StudyHall

Hello everyone! Sophie here today to share this layout I created using this month’s absolutely gorgeous kit.

The husband and I just celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary and I thought the papers in this month’s kit are a perfect fit for scrapping one of my favorite photos from our wedding.

Happily Ever After, @Colortypes Sophie @ Cliquekits, #cliquekits #scrapbooking #DIY #CKenchantedmeadow

I started this layout with the intention of creating an entire cluster of tassels in the shape of a heart. These tassels were made from embroidery floss and glassine bags (don’t you just love the fact that each kit comes with a few of these?). Once these were secured to the page with washi tape, I added the title “happily ever after” in the form of a banner.

Happily Ever After Detail 1

I love all the  blooms that can be colored in this kit by Heidi Swapp. These were colored using paints and mists to achieve a softer feel. When clustering them, I added some black and white blooms that I fussy cut from the patterned paper as well. These help to lighten the overall effect.

Happily Ever After Detail 2

Finally, I anchored the entire cluster to the background by having a huge arrow shoot through the heart diagonally. Added some embellishments in the corner of the layout and some stamped sequins from the wonderful stamp set found in the kit and tadah! All done!

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you will have some fun with all the amazing embellishments in the kit!

Team Dave

LockerRoom

Hello Clique Kits friends! It’s Marcia here today. I wanted to give you some insight into what inspired me for my latest layout. It was this 4×6 journal card from the Echo Park Creative Agenda collection. It reminded me of the musical Rent and that made me think of my brother-in-law Dave who is battling cancer. When you are in a battle for your life, you realize just how precious time is as well as those people we love to spend that time with.

CA70002_4X6_Journaling_Cards_edited-1

Last Spring, my daughter and I participated in the Minneapolis Bladder Cancer Walk with Dave and lots of friends and family. So I dug out the few pictures I had from the event. Then I looked for a sketch that would work with my photos and journal cards. I found this one at Stuck?! Sketches.

I don’t always use a sketch, but find they are helpful when you need inspiration. Working with multiple photos in a grid design is not typical for me. Every once in a while its good to try something different though. My next step is deciding on what papers and embellishments to use.

prep

But I wanted the emphasis still to be that journal card, so I used my Silhouette to cut the words out of my background paper. It makes a bold statement. Here is my finished layout…

Enchanted Meadow December Clique Kit.

The Good Morning sun was fussy cut from another journal card. Don’t be afraid to cut into your journal cards like this. One of the add-ons for the kit were these fabulous paper clips from Freckled Fawn and I cannot get enough of them.

I spritzed some Heidi Swapp color shine in tinsel on my camera ephemera and layered some chipboard stickers on top. Using foam adhesive adds dimension, making the layers pop.

I used my computer to add my journaling as I don’t especially like my own handwriting.

Multiple sized photos

geeklab

Hi everyone! I’m back again today with a quick and easy tutorial on how to print multiple sized photos for your layouts. Personally, I do not have a printing program to do this so I use Ipiccy. Ipiccy is a free photo software and I use it often to edit my photos. I also use this program to create a collage using my favorite photos so that I can cut the different sized photos out to use on my layout! This programs saves me a great deal of time, ink, money and photo paper! It’s awesome.

Simply go to http://www.ipiccy.com and click on create collage. Then upload your photos and move them around to your liking, print it and cut the photos out!

@nicolemartel

Before printing the photo, be sure to select “fit picture to frame” so that your photo collage does not get chopped off at the edges.

And here is my layout. I love the papers in the Enchanted Meadows kit. I can’t get enough of it. There’s so many possibilities with all the patterned paper in this fabulous kit!

Never Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle

Hello Clique Kits friends! It’s Marcia here today in Study Hall and I am very excited to be on the Clique Kits blog today sharing a layout I created with our fabulous December kit,  Enchanted Meadow!  I just love all the colors and patterns in the September Skies paper collection by Heidi Swapp. I also love the exclusive digital cut files that were included in the kit. Since my daughter just got married I thought this kit would be perfect to document some of those memories.

HeidiSwapp_SeptemberSkies

#HeidiSwapp #SeptemberSkies #EnchantedMeadow #Layout

I combined two of the cut files for my title, cutting one from a glitter adhesive cardstock and the other from black cardstock. I added a little bit of pattern paper to fill the negative space to keep the background from being too distracting. These cut files may appear in the Clique Kits digital store. Keep your eye out if you are interested.

I spritzed some Rose Heidi Swapp Color Shine on my resist flower from the Ephemera pack. Then painted on some Peach Color Shine to give my flower some dimension.

One of the December add ons were these awesome paper clips from Freckled Fawn. I just had to have them. LOVE!

Locker Room – Best journey ever

Hello everyone, Danielle here with you from the Locker Room. Today I would like to share with you my process of creating a layout. Of course every layout is different, but usually some basics of building up the design is the same for most of my layouts.

I start with picking some papers and embellishments I want to work with. In this case I chose the Heidi Swapp September Skies from the December Enchanted Meadow kit and I picked a photo that works with the colors of the collection and with the sentiments on the papers and embellishments.

Best Journey Ever layout, @Danielle de Konink, @Cliquekits, #cliquekits #scrapbooking #DIY #EnchantedMeadow

Then I move the papers around to decide which one will be my background and which one is the best fit to be placed directly behind my photo.

After that I pick the other papers that work best and what design I want on my page. When I figured out the basics, I glue it down with only one drop of Zip Dry in the middle of each paper. I use this glue because it is very forgiving in case you make a mistake.

Best Journey Ever layout, @Danielle de Konink, @Cliquekits, #cliquekits #scrapbooking #DIY #EnchantedMeadow

Because I only use a tiny bit of glue on the middle of the papers, it gives me the option to tuck in embellishments here and there and to move them around until I’m happy with the result.

Best Journey Ever layout, @Danielle de Konink, @Cliquekits, #cliquekits #scrapbooking #DIY #EnchantedMeadow

Then it was time to give the Heidi Swapp ephemera some color with Color Shine. What I love about her collections is that any color of her Color Shines does match to it. For example if you take a look at the striped paper, you can relate each of the colors on it to one of the Color Shines, so you can’t go wrong!

I added some of the sequins stamps that came with the kit and moved some embellishments around after coloring them. And here’s is the finished layout with everything glued down properly.

Locker Room: Adding POP to Black & White

Blog 4

Happy Friday all!!  Are you ready for a big winner?? Drum roll please for the winning comment……

Stephanie 09/18/2014
Beautiful pages Cari, all of them. So much inspiration here 🙂

Congrats on winning the Clique Kits prize pack!!! Please email us at cliquekits@yahoo.com to claim your prize!  Send us your full name and mailing address please!

What a great way to start off my Friday post!  I love giving away goodies to our awesome hoppers!  So fun!  Ok, for today’s post with my super Study Abroad kit I used nearly all the black and white papers in the kit.  I added a few of the A sides with a few pops of yellow scattered around my layout.  I also printed this Instagram photo of our girls in black and white to create a mostly black and white layout.  I started with a 12×12 sheet of American Crafts card stock (new in our school store) and dug out my Heidi Swapp 12×12 inch hearts stencil.  I laid the stencil over my card stock and sprayed some Sunshine My Huey’s mist at a 45 degree angle across the cardstock.  This allowed for there to be a gradual fade of the spray ink across the card stock.  After the ink dried, I started playing with my placement and used many of the smaller pieces of paper from cutting into my fabulous kit last week!  I also included a few little Heidi Swapp stamps I picked up last week and a couple fabulous cut files from The Cut Shoppe, 3×4 Flash Cards.

Another fun little design element I added to my layout was some stamping with the Lawn Fawn Wish You Were Here set, which is on sale in our shop right now.  This fun stamp set has some great arrows, cute little heart and sweet sentiments included in it.  I stamped multiple arrows throughout my layout, all pointing towards our daughters.  I also stamped up to three times without adding additional ink to the stamp. Erica does this too and I always love the look of it!

Did you happen to notice the little phrases throughout this fabulous Studio Tekturek map paper?  There are a bunch so take a closer look at yours!  I cut of this little section that says I Love You and added it for another pop of color (shown in the lower right of the photo below).

Alright, that wraps up today’s Locker Room post.  I hope you’ve enjoyed my mostly black and white layout with the pops of yellow!  Now it’s time to use up my sweet Study Abroad scraps and whip up some cards!
