Locker Room: Enjoy the Journey Card

Hi friends,

Melissa here with you again and I’m sharing the second, of four, projects I have made using the stunning September Sundance kit.

I love Locker Room posts! The title always reminds me of half time at a football game (totally appropriate right now since it’s football season GO HAWKS!) and the coach is getting every one fired up again… whether it’s because the team needs a kick in the toosh or maybe they are rocking it out and don’t want to lose steam. So… this type of post always has me wanting to give you a pep talk! Maybe you have no mojo… maybe you are going strong… whatever it is, I hope that I can just provide with a couple more tools for your creative toolbox and how to make the most of your kit!

Here we go!

20170812_192448

I know, I know. This looks like the makings of an Art Studio post but, it’s not. This piece of cardstock was a booboo. I messed up with my ink for another project. Almost threw it out but, noticed the colors went perfect with the papers in this kit. So, I added a few more splatters and decided to use it as my cardstock base. See? Even our “mess ups” end up useful! Don’t throw them out just yet!

20170812_220537

Alright, so this next part has a lot to share. One of the ways I love taking on a new perspective and/or stretching my product is to look at what I can fussy cut. The flowers and leaves were so perfect to do this with! It definitely helps to utilize every single part of the kit. I also wanted to incorporate one of the cut files. I love how cut files can add more to the projects and, the best part? You never run out! I’m also going to be using some of the stickers on this card and those fun alpha stickers.

20170812_220858

I want to point out something with this card, so far. When I use mists and inks on my cardbase, I notice that I use less product. Why? Because the inks provide a couple of things… texture and color. That way, I can bring in a little pop of something with the pattern papers and embellishments but, not too much. The result is my product/kit lasts longer! And I can make more! Which is exciting when I love the collection and papers and all that! Yay!

Here is the final card with the finished sentiment and embellishments…

Art Studio – Coffee Cup

ck-art-studio-header

Hello! It’s Réka and today I am sharing with you a very cute, very nice and very lovely way to make your own embelisment for your layout or any other projects and we will be using the gorgeous „Sundance” Traveler’s Notebook Kit.

ck-sep17-tnkit-5_1_orig

The first thing you have to know about me that I love coffee latte but I have never taken a picture of it and I have never documented it. But last week I gave up them and I did the previous two things and of course my own hand-made embelisment.

Now let’s see the hand-made embelisment which is a coffee cup. I have choosen the coffee PL card from the February 2017 printables to do this.

ck-feb17-prints-web_4_orig

I have edited this illustration in the Microsoft Word program and I have printed it twice. Because for firts one I have used white cardstock which became the base of my layout and the other one has been printed  on the copy paper which was the samplet for the coffee cup embelishment.

1

I have cut the cup out of the copy paper, after that I cut off the different parts and I have chosen the papers from the Pretty Little Studios: Wish You Were Here 4×6 paper pack collection for them and drawn around it and cut it out of and adhered them onto one pieces of white cardstock which cut it around as the shape of the cup. The last steps were to embroider it and add the alphabetic stickers from the previous kits.

2

The embelisment was done and I put it onto the page and I really love the result.

Finally I have decorated the layout. I have fussy cut flowers out of the flower paper from Pretty Little Studios: Wish You Were Here 4×6 Paper Pack and the hearts were used to create a clusters on the top and the bottom part of the page to make balance. The hello word washi tape was the final touch to complete my layout.

000N

I really love this layout and the layout’s message.

Here are some close-ups:

I hope you have found some inspiration for making you own embelisment and using it on your project. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day! Réka

Field Notes – Fun in the sun

ck-field-notes-traveler-notes-header

Hello! Here Réka is today with you, and I have traveler’s notebook spreads to share, featuring the gorgeous ‘POOL PARTY’ Traveler’s Notebook Kit!

ck-jun17-tnkit2_4_orig

When I got my Kit I thought a lot how to use the insert, maybe to organize my days as a planner or to write my favorite recipe on it but finally I have decided that I will be document our summer stories.

1-1

The ‘Fun in the sun’ cute file is perfect for every summer stories so I have cut it out of the pink paper with arrows pattern from Pretty Little Studio: Ain’t Life Grand – 4 x 6 Paper collection and adhered them onto my page. After I have used my favorite pink thread and I have embroidered them around. When you use a thin paper for the embroidery base like this you need to be careful, don’t let the paper tear and if you don’t push hard the needle, you can get lazier stitch as me now and yes, I really love it.

3

Next, the flowers, which were fussy cut out of a Pretty Little Studio: Ain’t Life Grand – 4 x 6 flowers pattern Paper and I have made some clusters on my pages. I love these flowers and every piece is hoard.

Some mists, words, the gorgeous pink camera ephemera and the cute ‘Ice cream’ clip went on my spread. You can find more clips in the shop here and remember you can use the code SHOP to get 30% off your total purchase.

This page is the summary page so I have printed the title of the first story on the vellum paper and adhered on it. I will fill in the blank page continuously with the next stories` titles which we will be collecting this summer.

2

Now, let’s see the next page.

4-4

For the left side I added my photo which was layered some paper and on the other side I have used the Hello card from the Pretty Little Studio: Ain’t Life Grand – 3 x 4 Cards collection. I have also used some beautiful flowers and the words stickers and the always title, which arrived with the kit.

5

Behind the Hello card I have put one tag from the June printable collection and I have written the funny story on it. I have attached with a white thread and made a little bow from it. Some mists and some enamels were the finishing touches to complete my spread.

6

I hope you enjoy my traveler’s notebook spreads and collect the summer stories. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day! Réka

Yearbook: Reach for the sky.

13708352_10206587466700644_3123589168410663782_o

Hi Everyone! Réka here today to share a 8,5”x11” layout I created with this month’s „POOL PARTY” Traveler’s Notebook Kit.

ck-jun17-tnkit2_4_orig

Here’s what I came up with…

1-1

When I saw the very pretty blue paper from Pretty Little Studio: Ain’t Life Grand – 4 x 6 Paper collection I knew I would like to use for my next page and my pigeon’s picture is perfect for it.

I’ve edited the ’Reach for the sky’ title with the Silhouette Studio program and after I’ve cut it out of the white cardstock and I’ve backed it up the blue paper.

2

I’ve also added some word stickers from Pretty Little Studio: Ain’t Life Grand collection. I really loved to use these cute word stickers which it have completed my main title. When it was ready I’ve also splattered some green watercolour with my brush on the page.

3-2

The fussy cut flowers and the enamel dots were used to create a little clusters on the left and the right side of the photo.

3

I wanted to make my page excited a bit in that way I made the photo flipable and one more photo was added on the page.

4

I’ve decorated it with some element from the September’s printable file.

6

Some machine stitching and the date were the finishing touches to complete my layout.

5

I hope you enjoy my layout and thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful crafty day! See you soon! Réka

Study Hall — MY GIRLS

Hello Clique Kits fans!!

Hope you all are getting lots of inspiration from all the beautiful projects created with the beautiful Aquarelle Kit.   This month’s  kit is gorgeous, and it features the beautiful “Wild at Heart” collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.   You want to get your hands on this kit!

june kit

I was drawn to all the watercolor floral designs from the collection, and knew that i would be fussy cutting a large number of them for one of my projects.   For this layout, I  chose to document one of the many pictures of our Mother’s Day weekend by creating a large shaker element, and framing it with flowers and exclusive printables from this month’s Aquarelle main kit.  So sit down, and enjoy the video on how this layout came together:

I chose a large picture with lots of negative space for this layout.   First I created  a shaker element, by stitching together a circle of light pink/coral cardstock, a same size vellum circle, and the outline of the circle (made of white cardstock) together.   Before closing the shaker element, a bit of the Sorbet Kit sequin mix was added to the inside of the  pocket, especially the large flowers in the sequin mix.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017_MYGIRLS-4

The Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s “Artisan” paper serves as the base for this layout.   A little bit of white acrylic paint behind the shaker element helps bring out the colors in the sequin and the flowers that frame the picture.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017_MYGIRLS-6

To frame the picture, and the shaker element, floral designs were cut from the “Patchwork”, “Luscious”, “Memento” papers (all included in the main Aquarelle Kit), and then glued behind the pocket circle and the large picture.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017_MYGIRLS-3

I took advantage of the many exclusive printables included in the  Aquarelle kit, as well as the “Fussy Cuts” page to add small clusters around the picture.

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017_MYGIRLS-7

The Pinkfresh Studio Alphas included in the Aquarelle kit are so easy to incorporate to all types of projects.  Since there is a large white space in the picture, the title was glued straight on the picture right at the larger floral cluster.  A small fussy cut butterfly from the “Mariposa” paper completes the title.   After adding the journal lines, a few gold ink splatters complete this project.  Here is the final layout:

CK_NATHALIE DESOUSA_JUNE2017_MYGIRLS-2

Don’t you just love all the colorful florals in this month’s Aquarelle kit?  Oh, I am in love with this kit ( and I think, tears were shed when I fussy cut the papers, they are just too beautiful!!).  Remember there is only a few kits left for sale at the Clique Store, so run to the store to get one of the kits.

I am always a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!!

Art Studio: Happy Moments

Hello scrappers. I’ve been anxiously waiting to share this layout with you.  When I started creating this layout, I had no idea what I was going to do. The one thing I was sure of, is that I wanted to use lots of patterned paper. The papers in this months’ kit are so pretty. Wouldn’t you agree. It’s hard not to use them all. LOL I even cut the branding strips from the papers and used them as a fun border for my layout on the left-side of the layout.

I’ve had an acrylic frame in my stash for some time now and after watching Finnabair share the new Metallique Paints, I was inspired to use some of the Metallique paints from my stash. I painted the frame using the Deep Waters and Blue-Gold paints. SOOOOO Pretty! I love how vibrant these paints are.

I fussy cut the flowers from the floral paper and added buttons and jewels from my stash to the center of the flowers to add more texture to the flowers. I used foam squares to adhere them to the layout.

Here is a closer look at the branding strips used on this layout.

I fussy cut the butterfly from one of the patterned papers to use as a die cut for the bottom right-side of my layout.

Thank you for visiting today!

Locker Room:

Hi friends,

Melissa with you here again and I’ve got another card to share with you, today, using the beautiful May Sorbet Kit! Today, I want to help you think “outside of the box” a bit. When I saw this sheet of lovely paper, from Pinkfresh Studio, in the kit – I knew I wanted to utilize it on a card. I could go the typical route and cut out a square, or two, to layer and create a sentiment. However, the more I thought about, the more I wanted to see how much I could pack on a card. A standard A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) sized card.

So, I busted out the scissors and got snipping! And snipping! And snipping!

“This is very therapeutic”, I thought! And, I the design was beginning to take shape in my brain. I got pretty excited to showcase how to use all the little bits in your kit and to make it go farther!
Dare2Dream5

After I got it all snippy snipped, I arranged the pieces, just so, on my card base. That was fun too. Almost like a puzzle but, more fun. At least to me. I’m not a huge fan of puzzles. 😉

Dare2Dream6

Then, the next step came. How can I dress this card up more and keep using up all the awesome items in this kit??? We have those awesome buttons and all the gorgeous ephemera. Oh… this could get fun! So, I stuck and I layered and put.

Here is the final product:

Dare2Dream1

Yeah??? How fun is that?

I managed to include just about every color and imagery from this collection. Which, I was really happy about because I really love all the designs with this paper collection. It’s so pretty and light with a nice mod twist to it.

Here are a few close ups to show the layers and dimension:

So fun! This kit is SO fun! And I just know you are going to create and create and create with it. Don’t have one yet? Well, allow me to send you to the right place to get your own May Sorbet Kit! <—just click on that link.

And, I do hope that you enjoyed my post today! Happy creating!

Love

art-studio

Hi scrappers! Today, I hope to inspire you with another layout using Just Nick Studio’s digital cut file and Clique Kit’s February kit. I love working with digital backgrounds and the heart background really caught my eye. I used lime cardstock to really make the cut file pop off the page. This layout was super simple to make. I just layered some patterned paper together for the base, cut the image from my Silhouette Portrait, and added some mist and embellies.

love-001

I added some random heart stickers and chipboard to the digital cut file. The little banners were stamped images that I applied to scraps of patterned paper and hand-cut them to use as embellishments. It makes the hearts stand out much nicer than without.

I added some mini word stickers, butterfly rub-on and some Nuvo dots at the bottom to fill in the layout a bit.

Thanks for visiting today!

Geek Lab- Hello Little Critter

13738133_10206587473420812_3012027118225482067_o

Happy Thursday!  For my page today, I decided to use a tool that rarely gets used from my stash: punches, along with my February Kit.  I used some small circle punches to add some bright spots of color to my layout below:

hello-little-critter

For the rest of my page, I kept to a palette of cool colors with the purples, teals, and mint in a simple layout design with a black of patterned paper on the left and another on the right and a strip of gingham down the middle. Centering a photo on this strip helps guide your eye to the photo.

For embellishing, I fussy cut some of the black and white flowers and added some white tags for journaling.

hello-little-critter-1

hello-little-critter-2

hello-little-critter-3

I felt like I needed something to “pop” on the page, and was playing around with other papers, but I tried a tiny bit of this corrugated cardboard from Fancy Pants and it really helped add some amazing contrast.

I actually tried to cut to corrugated cardboard using a cut file and my Silhouette, but it was an epic fail!   The cardboard ripped and the design did not cut.  Perhaps a deep blade would work?  Anyways, I decided just to stick with some simple circles that I punched with some circle punches.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sherry thank you for sharing a little bit about yourself with us today!  Now lets get to Sherry’s first project using the February Bee You kit!  Grab your coffee, tea, soda or water and get ready to be inspired!

Hello, friends! Sherry here and I’m thrilled to be a guest designer this month! My layout started with a sweet photo of my daughter and her friend, dressed up for a school dance. The pink, black, and white color combination of the gorgeous Hazelwood floral papers were the perfect match for the photo.

beautiful girls.png

Although I adore the over-sized floral paper, I knew it would overpower my layout. I fussy cut several of the flowers and added french knots to add dimension and a pop of black.

img_3502

To mat the photo I mixed a couple of pieces from the cut apart sheet of patterned paper.

img_3503

I needed smaller scale leaves on the perimeter of the layout, so I fussy cut a few from the cut apart sheet. img_3510

For the title, I used a stamp from my stash and the gorgeous Thickers that came in the kit.

img_3532

To pull some soft pink to the top of the layout, I machine-stitched around the edge and layered some ephemera for the cluster at the top.
