Art Studio – Coffee Cup

ck-art-studio-header

Hello! It’s Réka and today I am sharing with you a very cute, very nice and very lovely way to make your own embelisment for your layout or any other projects and we will be using the gorgeous „Sundance” Traveler’s Notebook Kit.

ck-sep17-tnkit-5_1_orig

The first thing you have to know about me that I love coffee latte but I have never taken a picture of it and I have never documented it. But last week I gave up them and I did the previous two things and of course my own hand-made embelisment.

Now let’s see the hand-made embelisment which is a coffee cup. I have choosen the coffee PL card from the February 2017 printables to do this.

ck-feb17-prints-web_4_orig

I have edited this illustration in the Microsoft Word program and I have printed it twice. Because for firts one I have used white cardstock which became the base of my layout and the other one has been printed  on the copy paper which was the samplet for the coffee cup embelishment.

1

I have cut the cup out of the copy paper, after that I cut off the different parts and I have chosen the papers from the Pretty Little Studios: Wish You Were Here 4×6 paper pack collection for them and drawn around it and cut it out of and adhered them onto one pieces of white cardstock which cut it around as the shape of the cup. The last steps were to embroider it and add the alphabetic stickers from the previous kits.

2

The embelisment was done and I put it onto the page and I really love the result.

Finally I have decorated the layout. I have fussy cut flowers out of the flower paper from Pretty Little Studios: Wish You Were Here 4×6 Paper Pack and the hearts were used to create a clusters on the top and the bottom part of the page to make balance. The hello word washi tape was the final touch to complete my layout.

I really love this layout and the layout’s message.

Here are some close-ups:

I hope you have found some inspiration for making you own embelisment and using it on your project. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day! Réka

Art Studio: Summer Chillin’

Hello!
Donna here today with my second project using the August “Malibu” kit featuring Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection

ck-aug17-mainkit-sneaks2_orig

I also used this super cute exclusive cut file designed by Inna Moreva (July 2017 cut file – Sunshine) from the Digital Shop

s254461307115203172_p1860_i10_w640

and exclusive printables (Main kit and TN printables) you can find in the Digital Shop as well.

First off, here is a step-by-step tutorial how I created the layout:

  • You will need two cardstocks – 1 for the cut file and 1 for the base where you will adhere the cut file. Adhere the negative part of the cut file to the other cardstock, set the ‘good or positive’ cut file aside.

aug16---art-studio-tut1

  • Using a piece of plastic (any will do, just make sure it’s clean), spread watercolor (or any medium you prefer, diluted in water) to the surface. Start with one color first and build up the layers one after another.

aug16---art-studio-tut3

  • Add another color to the edges, spreading the diluted color with your fingers

aug16---art-studio-tut4

  • While the base is drying (or you can use a heat gun to help it dry faster), use different patterned papers as backing to the Sunshine cut file (I used a pencil to trace the floral parts of the cut file and cut manually with scissors).

aug16---art-studio-tut2

  • Once the base is dry, adhere the Sunshine cut file backed with patterned papers. Use foam tapes to add dimension to the cut file.

aug16---art-studio-tut5

  • Start embellishing

aug16---art-studio-tut6

And this is how my layout turned out

Donna-CKMalibu-Layout03

I added some fun details like this wavy flag and clusters of sequins and stickers.

Donna-CKMalibu-Layout03a1

Different heights added interest to the overall look of the whole page. Here, I used different thickness of foam tapes to adhere the photo and other embellishments like stickers and word arts.

The holographic embellishments are so pretty in person!

That’s all from me today but I will be back in a few days to share another project with you all.

Field Notes: My Traveler’s Notebook

field-notes

Hello everyone! Enza here with you today to share a spread in my traveler’s notebook using the gorgeous Hey, Sugar January kit.

hey-sugar

I love to be able to scrapbook on a smaller scale from time to time. It is easier and lot faster. When I first started using a traveler’s notebook, I was a little uncertain on what I wanted to focus on. I knew I didn’t want to use it as a journal or a diary. As I create full page layouts and Project Life spreads for our albums, I didn’t see the point in replicating the same idea in a smaller format. That said, I still wanted to tell our story in it. I decided to pick one picture (and only one) every month, and jot down some thoughts about it.

egudor_january10_fieldnotes

This picture was taken back in November, when we spent a fun day downtown Seattle playing tourists. I love the expression on our daughter’s face. It tells so much about her personality. Sweet, smart, and a little mischievous 😉

Since the pages in my traveler’s notebook are an off-white color, the first thing I did was cut out some white cardstock to cover them up with. I then fussy cut some flowers out of the Crate Paper Adore You 12×12 patterned paper and disposed them in a diagonal across the two pages.

egudor_january10_fieldnotes_closeup1

I love the bits and pieces that come with this collection. Tags, hearts, acetate pieces are perfect to embellish your pages. I also added some of the exclusive January printables available to subscribers.

egudor_january10_fieldnotes_closeup2

The little pocket was created by hand-stitching a card that came in the ephemera pack to a piece of patterned paper from the 6×6 paper pad (add-on for this month), while for my journaling tag I used the fun Crate Paper Lovely 12×12 patterned paper.

egudor_january10_fieldnotes_closeup3

A few more embellishments completed the spread.

Thank you for stopping by today! If you are not a subscriber yet, give it a try. You’ll fall in love with these kits. The Clique Kits store also has a new Traveler’s Notebook Kit available for pre-order featuring the newest Crate Paper Oasis collection, as well as amazing exclusive products. It is beautiful!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello everyone! Elisabetta here to show you another layout created with the May kit!

IMG_4526

I found an old Polaroid at home back in January and I’m OBSESSED with it! I only took a few pictures so far and I love the vintage look that they have. as I mentioned some posts ago, I spent Easter holidays with my mom at our beach house and, even if it was very very cold, we still decided to take some walks by the seaside. this Polaroid was taken there; I love it! 😀

IMG_4527

this 4×6 exclusive card was perfect for my picture (and I adored the quote)!

IMG_4528

tags must be one of my favorite pieces from the kit! they are so versatile and the colors are vibrant and bright, I think I used them on every layout 😀

hello everyone! Elisabetta here today to show you one of my favorite layouts that I’ve created lately 🙂

IMG_4493

I love this month’s printables, especially the labels and the circles, so I decided to create a layout that was all about the LABELS! 🙂

IMG_4494IMG_4496

I cut them and placed them on the left side of the page with the picture and then I embellished the page using stickers, diecuts, alphas and tag that we got in the kit!

IMG_4499

how cute is this aqua flair? 🙂

IMG_4500

I love all the bright colors of the kit! they look great with my photo, that was taken back in March, as I was spending Easter holidays with my mom at our beach house. “Loco Squad” is the name of one of our favorite restaurants there, we love how they cook 😀

Art Studio: Hello sweetheart

artstudioheader

Hello everyone! TGIF! Donna here sharing my page for today’s post using the March kit “Hell Yeah” featuring Goldie collection by 7 Paper.8372547_orig

This is the page I made.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02A

For the second time around, I used the circle cut out cut file as stencil to create the circles with pinkish colors and teeny tiny doodles around.

First, I brushed the gelato to the stencil. Remember this is paper and already used from previous layout so I was careful not to tear it apart.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02tut01

Using a piece of wet baby wipe, carefully spread out the colors to the background cardstock. I hold the edges while I do this and slowly, to avoid tearing the paper stencil apart.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02tut02

This is the result. You’ll have subtle markings left by rubbing the wet tissue over the stencil with gelato.donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02tut03

Then I doodled around the circles using a black micron pen.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02B

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02F

I cut strips of the papers with pinkish/peachy colors and added some with black and white patterns too. Curled the edges of the strips so they were kind of flared a bit. I used dimensional foam tapes to adhere the frame onto the photo.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02C

I also layered a couple of the fringed gold crepe paper.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02D

That’s it for me today, I hope you liked my page! Will come back in a few days for another layout using this awesome kit! Thanks for dropping by, hope you all have a nice weekend!

Happy crafting,

IMG_4365

Hi eveyone! Elisabetta here today to show you a layout created with the beautiful March Kit! I always love the 3×4, 4×6 and 4×4 cards that are included in the kits and I try to find ways to include them in regular layouts. 🙂

IMG_4367

I love to place the cards on the layouts so that it kinda looks like a mood board. This way I can add a lot of embellishments all over the page and have a lot of fun! 🙂

IMG_4370

What do you think of this page design? How do you use the cards included in the kits?

Thank you so much for stopping by, have a great day. 🙂

Study Hall: OXOXO

study-hall1

Hello Clique Kits friends! Leigh here, with a layout focusing on an easy technique, to highlight how we can use the shapes on patterned papers to bring emphasis to our scrapbook page’s theme. We can think about what story we want to tell about a photo, and that can lead us to a theme for our page. In this instance, The March cut file with the painterly circles, reminded me of  frosting on the top of cupcakes. I had a photo of my daughter to scrapbook about a day we visited “Sprinkles” cupcakes!

LOdynskiMarch2016_OXOXOFullPage4075071_orig

Here is the cut file used on this page. Love the circles, and the fact that they look painted! Reminds me of cupcake frosting- at least when I frost cupcakes! This was the starting point of the design and led to the idea to use a portion of this cut file as a stencil to add gloss gel that would resemble frosting. I kept the farthest three rows on the right to use on this page, and used the other side as a stencil. Simply add gloss gel or Whipped Spackle, colored with gelatos that match your papers. You could skip the mixing and just use heavy bodied acrylic paint from the Mixed Media section of the Clique Kits Store, to add through the cut file stencil. Pick a few of the circles and frost away!

Close up of the gloss gel that I sprinkled with shaped glitter. Looks like a cupcake to me!

LOdynskiMArch2016_OXOXOCloseUp1

This is where the shapes in your patterned paper connect to the theme of your page. The far right exclusive paper, designed for Clique Kits, was perfect to resemble wonky circles and sprinkles! The patterned papers in this month’s kit have an artsy modern vibe , and are perfect for reinforcing the theme! Simply back all of your circles with a variety of different patterns in large and small scales. So fun!

LOdynskiMarch2016_OXOXOCloseUp2

Once the circles are filled, then work on the photo section of your layout. I chose a few of the cut apart cards from the Goldie collection in this month’s kit. Layer them behind your photo, then add a vellum pocket with a tag for more journaling. Choose some adorable embellishments from this month’s kit to add to the top left with a bow tie clip.

LOdynskiMarch2016_OXOXOSneakPeek1

Then add the title directly underneath the photo, and a label from the exclusive die cut pack for some of your journaling and date. The Maggie Holmes sequin shapes pack from last month (February) was added to create the title. Flair from last month as well.
