Study Hall: Red Nose Lola

Hello Clique Fans!  Erica here with you today to share a layout I created using the fabulous March 2017 kit PLAY featuring the Little by Little collection from Shimelle!

Now if you are on Instagram you may follow the IG user SCRAPPYLIKEAFOX …if not you really should!  Well she has post about this Yippe Strippy challenge and has a ton of inspiration on her IG!  I was very inspired by these projects and decided to cut up some strips of my own and create a fun layout using the March  kit!  I just love the way the layout turned out and this is a great way to use up little strips of scraps!!

I started by cutting strips that I had left over from creating some project life cards!  I cut them in a couple different widths and then began to adhere to my white cardstock!  Oh wait!  First I had to add some great color splats to match my papers!  I used a yellow, pink and teal from my stash!

The photo is of our Red Nose Pitbull Lola!  She is the sweetest little thing and my heart breaks when I hear so much bad rap for Pitbulls.  I have met so many wonderful sweet and loving Pitbulls  and they just have such a bad reputation.  It is all in how you raise a dog is how I feel and I stand up for our pittie and other pittes!  We have turned a lot of people who had bad thoughts of them into pittie lovers!  I could go on forever but lets get back into the layout!!  I pulled out some of the awesome add on products I picked up in the Clique Kits shop and started to embellish my layout!  I love the Shimelle wood buttons and enamel dots!!  I scattered them around the strips of paper along the side of my layout.

I also added one of the Oh My Heart charms that was included in the kit!  My title is Red Nose Lola and I used the playful and colorful alpha that was also included in the March kit!  I love all the fun colors and polka dots in this alpha set!  I also ran my layout through my sewing machine to add some fun texture to the paper strips!  I love all the little strings everyone!  I finished my layout off with some black ink spatters and my journaling at the bottom of the page using the WRMK Typeset Typewriter!  I just love that thing so much!

10 Minute Layout

Hey Clique Fans!  Erica here with you today and I am so excited to be bringing your a layout with the beautiful January 2017 kit!  It has been a very long time since I have sat down at my desk to do some scrapbooking and it felt really good!  I pulled out my January kit and the Limited Editon Valentine kit and sat down!

At first I will admit I had no idea what to do!  It has been so long my creative mojo was just lost!  I ended up pulling out a sketch and trying that out for a bit but then realized I was just not liking how my layout was turning out!  So I pulled out a fresh new white piece of cardstock and do what I do best!  Just cutting strips and adhering then down!  No sketch.. just sticking things down and having fun!

After my 3 strips of paper were adhered down on the left side everything else just fell into place!  Working with the kits makes it so easy to scrap and scrap fast!  Everything in the kit is picked and meant to all go together beautifully so no time is needed digging in my stash!  I even used some of the pretty tissue paper that we package up our kits in!  I think it adds some nice texture to the layout and who does not like polka dots!

The Limited Edition Valentine kit is a perfect partner with the January kit!  It is a of coarse Valentine themed but there are plenty of elements in the kit than can be used for non Valentine projects!  We only have a couple left in the shop so now is the time to grab one before they are gone!  Everything on my layout came from the kits except for the gold glitter Loved word!

The photo I scrapped is of me getting snuggles from Eli James and Izzy.  You can not really see Izzy in the photo but she is tucked in behind me very close!  You can see a bit of her ear poking out and Eli James was fast asleep cuddled in my arm!  I tried to get more of his face in the photo but I did not want to move to much and have them move!

I love the end result of my layout and knowing that it only took 10 minutes is even better!  Make sure to check out  my blog tomorrow for another layout using these kits and a December cut file!

I started out by cutting a bunch of hearts with my Cameo using the pretty papers in the kit!

If you do not have a cameo or cricut you can hand cut the hearts, use punches or dies to create this look!  I added the hearts all along one side of my layout popping some up with foam adhesive from the Clique Kits shop!  Once I had them all stuck down I pulled out some black enamel hearts by Bella Blvd from the CK shop!

I always love a good punch of black in my layouts and decided the Loved Thicker word that came in the September kit would be perfect for this layout too!

I stamped the Cherish Every Moment as well right under my photo using the Precious Remembrance Stamp that I picked up in the Clique Kits shop!  I added a few of the chipboard hearts that came in the kit along with a few word stickers from my stash!

Geek Lab – October Cut File

Hey everyone!  Erica here with you today and I am so excited to be sharing my first layout using the October 2016 kit featuring Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hills!  I am so loving the blue in this collection and the fun embellishments that come in this kit!

This kit also includes some amazing exclusive cut files designed by Inna Moreva!

Today I am using the awesome background cut file for my layout!

I backed some of the open spaces with paper from the kit and also used some of the exclusive journal cards.  The photo I am using on this layout is one of Eli.  He recently turned 4 and I took him out for a mini photo shoot!  He did so good and I just love how they came out!  For this photo I love all the white space off to the right side and I knew it would be perfect to add my title there!

When you taking photos try and compose them to add some open space to the sides or the top!  This is a great space to add some journaling or even your title!  If you want to get really fancy you can add your journaling in either Photoshop or PicMonkey and then print your photo out!

 

I kept my layout pretty simple like usual with a lot of white but I do love how it turned out!  I added some gold thread to the corners and used the some ephemera from the kit to stick in around my photo.  The layers created behind my photo are papers from the kit and also the exclusive journal cards!  Here is a look at my final layout!

Geek Lab: Kesi Art Dies

Hey everyone!  Erica here with you today sharing a layout made with the September 2016 kit Moon Child!

This kit is so full of beautiful products from Kesi Art, Fancy Pants Designs, Dear Lizzy Pretty Little Studio, Color Cast Designs and of coarse Clique Kit exclusives!  Today I wanted to use one of the exclusive pieces in the kit that was designed by our Creative Director Gia Lau!  Gia is usually behind the scenes and even if you do not see much of her she is always busy working, designing and brainstorming!  You may not know this but Gia has designed a great amount of CK exclusives!  Gia brings her sketches and vision to our graphic designers and they get them ready for the kit!  This month she designed the exclusive 8×8 vellum paper included in the kit!  I used this vellum along with one of the September Kit add ons from Kesi Art!

I pulled out my big shot and used these Kesi Art dies to cut out the CK exclusive vellum and I just love how it turned out!

Once I had enough pieces cut out I pullled out a white piece of cardstock and began cutting into the beautiful papers in the kit!

I glued the papers down and ruffled up the edges a bit before I started to glue down the vellum flowers!  I then pulled out my photo and a few other things from the September kit to add a few finishing touches to my layout!

The photo I am scrapbooking is of our son Grant and our Pitbull Lola on a walk.  I just love this photo and love these two so very much!  Even if this is a “boy” photo I just love the texture the vellum flowers bring to the layout and I love the final layout!  Who says you cant use flowers with a masculine photo!

I backed my with a few layers including a paper from the kit, some white cardstock and a vellum bag from the kit!  I added a few embellishments on the vellum flowers using the Pretty Little Studio stickers that are in the kit and also some die cut butterflies!  I also pulled out the beautiful acrylic piece from Color Cast Designs that is also in the September kit!

Study Hall – Mini Album with Pinkfresh Studio Felicity Collection

Hey everyone!  Erica here with you today to share a mini album using the Pinkfresh Studio Felicity collection that you can pick up in the Clique Kits shop!

I love this collection and thought it would be perfect to document when Sandy came to Illinois to visit!  Mini albums are my favorite thing to create and I love chunky little books filled with  memories!  I used some thick Bazzill cardstock to create my base pages and added the pattern paper to the cardstock using my Tombow liquid glue!  I love how the album turned out and there is still room for me to add some tags with journaling!

I love the Felicity Die Cut pack and how  many die cuts are in each pack!  After embellishing my album I still have so many left for another project!  The puffy stickers are also super cute and add some dimension to my album!

The CUTE die cut word above is from the Crate Paper Wonder Cardstock Die Cut pack and I used a few from this pack in my mini album!  They are fun and big and I love them!

I made this sequin pocket with some gold sequins from the shop and the wood venner from the February 2016 Hot Mess kit!  I had some clear pockets in my stash that worked perfect for this mini album.  Since I do not have a fuse tool and did not feel like pulling out the needle and thread I closed the top of the pocket with some Bella Blvd Bloom washi from the CK Shop!

I made sure to add some of the beautiful Bella Blvd enamel hearts in my album as well!  The Clique Kits shop has some beautiful colors now available!

Above you will see another one of the pieces from the Crate Paper Wonder Die Cut pack!  This one is a wood veneer Love piece and it is super cute!  You can also see that I used some Acetate to give my album a different texture.  The acetate is from our Limited Edition XOXO kit and goes perfect in my little album to help make it nice and chunky!
