Art Studio: Adventure

Art Studio

Hello Everyone! It’s Maryám here and it’s time to share my last layout of this month, in this blog (because you can see more projects on my blog).

Today is Art Studio’s day and for me that means watercolors, gesso and paints!

When I started this project I thought in the exclusive stars paper that comes in our kit, so I knew that it will be a good idea to use stars.

I drew some stars with my watercolors. After that, I’ve cut the stars, and I’ve added them to my page.

Here’s my final page. I love how it turned out!

More details:

Here is the completed process video of this layout. I hope you like it!

Thanks for watching! see you soon ❤CK_DT1516_Siggies-_Maryam

Locker Room: Just for fun!

blog-image_locker-room

Hey everyone! This is my second post for this month and today I’m back with a new layout made with the AMAZING September kit called Moon Child.

mperez_sep16_justforfun

For this project I started using Boho Dreams – Dreamcatcher paper but at the end I’ve decided to used the white part and back it with some pattern papers included in this kit.

For the title I’ve mixed the Dear Lizzy thickers with the Fancy Pants chipboard stickers. They look really beautiful together.

Yearbook: Fave Shoes

blog-image_yearbook

Hello! Caroli here and I’m so glad of posting for the first time this month using the beautiful kit Moon Child.

moon child

Today I want to show you this project I made for documenting something very simple: the pretty shoes of my baby boy! I love the idea of documenting simple facts like this, because otherwise we probably will forget about them in future. Making a layout about something cute and not important at all like a pair of baby shoes seems perfect to me 🙂

When I was pregnant I discovered mocs style shoes and I love them. They are cute and have a lot of benefits for babies, so I got my boy a pair of them and this is what I am documenting here.

As you can see, I used a grid design and some instax pics, it’s such a simple composition but I like how it came out. The colors of this kit are really pretty, all soft but with a touch of bold.

cliquekits_moonchild_carolischulz

I love cacti and as soon as I saw this one in one of Kesi Art papers I knew I wanted to cut it and use it as embellishment in my page.

cliquekits_moonchild_carolischulz2

I also cut some feathers from Kaiser Kraft patterned paper and used them to embellish this  card with a dream catcher, I think they look even prettier with the extra feathers, not to mention the puffy dots by Fancy Pants, how cute are they!

cliquekits_moonchild_carolischulz3
Something I really loved of this kit are the Thickers by Dear Lizzy and those chipboard alphas by Fancy Pants. Love the combination of hand-brushed words and block printing for my title.

cliquekits_moonchild_carolischulz4

I am so happy with this layout, now my boy will be able to see how cool he looked when he was 6 months old rocking his cute mocs shoes 🙂 This is what I love about scrapbooking, the possibility of turning something ordinary into an extraordinary memory.

Have a lovely day!

Yearbook-Instant Journal Cards

blog-image_yearbook

I met my mail lady in the yard, opened it within 10 seconds and started working with it 1 minute after that.  Yes, my Cliquers…..it is that FANTASTIC!

The colors matched so well with the last of my 2015 pictures (insert hang head in shame emoji here:), it was such a cinch to put together!

I have never done a Design Z layout so I thought it was about time to try!

It came with these Kaiser Art 2-sided journal card paper where I got this triangular and moon shaped card.

All I did was add a yellow plus sign from the Dear Lizzy ‘Hello’ Thickers and bam! Instant card.  Thicker hearts were also added to the door in the picture below.

By far my favorite piece of paper from the whole kit!

Exclusive Clique Kits designed paper is what I used for both journaling cards!

I had fun with with this 3×4 piece of exclusive paper by adding a whole bunch of word stickers from Pretty Little Studio and some enamel dots to finish it out!

This bottom card is a a hodge podge of Thickers, paper and end cuts.

What a fabulous kit this month!  I will definitely be using every last inch!

Thanks for stopping by!

Geek Lab || Going “Old School”

geeklab

Good morning, everyone!!  Kat here today to share with you another layout using our fabulous Tapestry kit!

For most “Geek Lab” posts, we focus on tips for using some fun new tool or technology….but for this post, I want to encourage you to go “old school”.  🙂  I have been scrapping for about 6 years now and a few years ago, punches were all the rage.  This punch in particular:

For those of you who have been scrapping a few years, do you remember this punch?  Everyone had it, so of course, I had to have it.  And it’s been collecting dust for quite a while now.  So, I decided to break it out and use it on a layout:

kat_grateful_ck

I created three rows of butterflies and then layered my photos on top of them.  It’s such a simple and easy technique, but I think it adds a bit of interest to an already super-simple page.

detail_grateful

I hope I’ve encouraged you to break out some of those old punches.  I had fun digging through my punch stash trying to decide which one to use for this layout, so I think I’ll be using some of my other ones pretty soon!

Thanks for stopping in!

Dream Catch Me Where I Fall…

student of the month

Hi there CK fans!

It’s Tarrah McLean joining you on the Clique kit blog today! I am so excited to be here as a guest designer sharing a layout with you that I have created using the gorgeous November Kit ‘Tapestry’.

Dream 1

As soon as I saw the exclusive feather digital cut files I knew I wanted to create a dream catcher look on my layout…I cut the different feathers from some of the Wildflower patterned papers included in this months kit. I used the hemp twine to attach the feathers at the bottom….

Dream Detail

My title just came to me as I was creating this layout…I wanted to tie in the dream catcher theme with my title and came up with Dream Catch Me Where I Fall….I used the Dream word from the Dear Lizzy Gold words add on and the small blue and gold letter stickers from the Wildflower sticker pack…

Dream Detail 2

I traced 2 different sized circles and cut them out to create the circles at the top, I then layered other papers and one of the frames over my photo. I also added some ephemera and of those beautiful flair buttons. I chose to use a black and white photo considering the amount of colour already used in the layout! I finished my layout by adding some journalling around the biggest circle.

Clique Kit Guest Designer

Thank you so much for joining me on the Ck blog today! I hope you are inspired to pull out your Tapestry kit and create something wonderful!

Happy creating..be sure to keep on the look out on Instagram and Facebook for the other projects I have created too!

Tarrah x

Yearbook: Pocketpages for Event Scrapbooking

blog-image_yearbook

Hello it’s Melissa here with my first post as a Varsity Team member!  I’m so excited to share some inspiration with you today and I have to admit that I fell in love as soon as I saw the gorgeous November Tapestry kit!

I have a little secret to share with you today!  I’ve tried Project Life twice, done it for 6 months both times, and then stopped!  The first time I did it on a weekly basis, and the second time on a monthly basis.  I still pull out these albums and look at them, and I love the elements of our everyday life that I captured and recorded.  So although Project Life is not be for me right now, I absolutely love creating pocket pages, especially when I have extra photos of a special day, event or holiday (and I don’t want to make a mini album).  I also love the variation that different types of page protectors provide in my albums.

When my kit arrived I immediately pulled out some older 2012 Instagram photos I’d recently printed of our annual Autumn Festival.   Its an even we attend every year, and in 2012 both of my kids were in the festival parade.  The We R Memory Keepers Wildflower collection has the most beautiful rich colours, and the kit was perfect for the photos.  Here is a look at my spread:

Fest1amend

Whenever I’m making pocket pages I love to take my favourite techniques from traditional scrabooking and apply them at a smaller scale.  So for this spread I’ve included gold colour shine splatters, layering and machine stitching. And of course I always have to journal!  I made my title card with a fussy cut flower, bow, letter stickers, Dear Lizzy Thickers and some gold splatters.  Machine stitching finished it off.

FEst title1

This card features a photo of my kids dressed for the festival parade (and yes my son is not happy with the “ever-present always taking photos for the scrapbooks” Mum!!).  The tag was perfect for my journalling, and I stapled on a small heart embellishment for some interest.  The twine from the kit and machine stitching were the final touch.

Fest3

We don’t have foxes in New Zealand, but he was so super cute I had to include him!  I made this journalling card from a piece of the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane 6×6 paper pad (a kit add-on in the store), and the fox and “documented” tag were perfect to tell the story of the festival float parade.

Fest5

This close up shows how I layered an exclusive printable tag with a sticker and a heart.  And how gorgeous is that red text paper!

Fest6

My final close up is my favourite card of them all!  I started with the exclusive “I adore you” card and paired it with my favourite photo of my daughter.  I layered my embellishments and added texture with staples and machine stitching.  Running the embellishments off the edge is a technique I love too!  Some gold colour shine finished it off!

Fest8

Thanks so much for looking!  I hope I’ve inspired you to mix up your traditional scrapbooking with some pocket pages.

See you again later in the month 🙂

Document the Little Moments

blog-image_yearbook

Hey everyone Erica here with you today and I hope you are all having a fabulous day!  Today I have a layout to share and the photo I am documenting is not from any special event or any big day in our lives but just a small moment in time I wanted to capture with my youngest son Eli James!  Now from the picture you would think it is just a silly selfie of myself and Eli just hanging out!  Well in a way yes…on this day all 4 of Eli’s older brothers and sister were off to school.  It was just the two of us and Izzy our boxer at home!  Now this is very new to us and we are adjusting to this new schedule.  I of coarse am loving all the one on one time with Eli but he sure does miss his big brother Gavin so much!  Eli and I were out on our steps waiting for the bus to arrive!  He just could not wait for the kids to get home!  I snapped a photo real quick to remember this sweet little moment!

IMG_2099

Photographing the big events is something we all do but remember to also get those small moments.  The little bits in time that we will always want to remember like waiting for the bus, taking your little one to get his favorite ice cream and watching it melt all over, holding hands, toys all over the floor, the way your husband sleeps!  These tiny moments that we all just may look over and not think to capture but will one day wish we had photographed it!  Well now is the time!  Get those little moments on film and get them scrapped!

IMG_2096

I used the new Dear Lizzy Documentary collection for my layout and the papers are just gorgeous!  You can find a paper pack in the Clique Kits shop along with a few other items from this collection!  I went with  my go to design these days and just layered up a bunch of strips of paper and added my photo!

IMG_2098 IMG_2094

I also added some embellishments from my stash like the Seven Paper Vellum hearts I picked up in the Clique Kits shop last month, some enamel dots and of coarse some Black Velvet Heidi Swapp Color Shine ink splats to finish it off!  This moment is one I do not want to ever forget and I am so glad I will have it in an album for Eli James and the rest of my babies to look back on.  I hope you enjoyed my layout today and I hope you take some time to capture some little moments in your life!  I would love to see them so please share them by tagging Clique Kits or posting them to our Facebook page!

Autumn Day Collection from Photo Play Paper

studyhall

Hello everyone!  Erica here with you today to share a new company and their new collections with you today!  We love new companies and helping support any small new business makes us very happy!  Photo Play Paper is a new scrapbooking company that just released two new collections Autumn Day and Dear Santa.

11870828_935750349818637_853695681388237907_n (1) 11825032_935751946485144_97124370134445653_n (1)

We currently have the Autumn Day collection in the Clique Kits shop and once it arrived I could not wait to dive in and start creating!  Fall is my favorite time of the year and I love the colors, images and patterns in this collection!  I took a photo last fall when the leaves were just starting to fall!  I was at the park scouting out areas to shoot some upcoming family photos and feeling very grateful and blessed.  I wanted to capture a photo of my feet on the ground to remember this moment in time.

IMG_1669

The paper I pulled for my background was perfect to add some watercolors in matching colors!  Of coarse I used the packaging technique and also added some ink spatters!

IMG_1672 IMG_1673

Adding lots of layers is what I love so the Autumn Day 6×6 paper pad was perfect for this!  I also pulled in some items from previous add ons like the wood veneer leaves, gold enamel dots and hearts!

IMG_1676

I love the element sticker and alpha sheet that you can pick up in the Clique Kits shop!  The alpha sheet includes 3 different size alphas in different colors and fonts!

IMG_1677

This collection has been selling very well in the shop and I can not wait to see what everyone creates with it!  I think some great fall cards are next on my to do list with this collection!  Now as of right now we do not have the Dear Santa collection in the shop….but stay tuned because you may be seeing it very soon in something special;)  Head on over to the shop and check out the full collection of Autumn Day and please make sure to check them out on Facebook!  I hope you all enjoyed my layout today and enjoy the rest of your day!
