Clique Agenda: Wander

Hello all. Nicole here with a fun project to share with you. I finally got a chance o get messy with this travelers notebook. Have you gotten yours yet? I think there’s one more in the shop if you are interested. Snag it now, (here) quick, because it might be gone by the time you get finished seeing what I did with mine.

I am relatively happy with how this turned out. However, I did make a mistake. I did NOT apply gesso to the travel notebook BEFORE I applied the paint which means that it didn’t take long before the paint started to peel off the notebook. So before you do anything with yours, do yourself a favor and apply gesso to your travel notebook right now.

I added some scraps in the supply case to have on hand whenever I feel the need to decorate a page. I love blue so I gathered a few blue pieces of embellishments. 🙂

I used lots of acrylic paints and watercolor paints to decorate my travel notebook inserts. I love the acrylic paints by Ranger. The colors are so vibrant. I used watercolor paints by Prima and Shimmerz Paints as well.

For the folder insert, I decorated it with blue and green acrylic paint. Once dried, I used a paint dabber to make little white circles on the cover. Then I painted a thicker word and applied it to the front of the insert.

Thanks for visiting today!

Hi everybody! I have a fun tutorial for you today. I am going to share how easy it is to use watercolor paints on your layouts! I love how vibrant the Prima watercolors are and as soon as I saw them at CHA, I knew I had to have them. The colors are absolutely beautiful and I am here to share with you how pretty their colors are on paper.

together_Clique Kits_Nicole Martel_Cosmo Crickett_layout

I decided that I wanted paint splatters for my background so I pulled out my templates, aqua brushes and watercolors. It’s best if you use watercolor paper so the paper does not warp or tear.

I simply placed the template down on my paper and painted the colors onto the template. Try to avoid moving the templates while you are coloring within the shapes so that you get the best image possible. You really do not need much color on your brush.  A little goes a long way.

Once the paint was dry, I used some ink and the #lovethis stamp to stamp on the background of my paper.

A few close ups:

I love the little macaroon flair. Fun!

I hope that I was able to inspire you to try watercolors on your next project. They are super easy to use and most of all, FUN!

Yearbook – XOXO 17

Hello everybody! Caroli here with my last post of the month, and this time I am in charge of the Yearbook.

As you may know, this section is not only about pocket page style of scrapbooking, but is also about documenting simple life and daily routine, and this is what this layout is all about.

Last week we celebrated 17 years together with my sweetheart, can you believe it? We’ve spent half of our lives together and I feel so lucky to have this man by my side.

I wanted to document that feeling, so when he arrived from work I grabbed my camera and snapped this spontaneous selfie, no makeup, no pose, just real life 🙂

I was so in love with the geometric heart from the acetate card included on the kit (I used it on this layout) that I wanted to make something similar and so I did. I drew the heart on paper and then cut all the pieces and glued them over a piece of acetate, then, I cut the acetate and there you go, my geometric heart! 🙂

In order to complement the geometric look I also made an origami heart, I simply love origami ❤

Something I really liked about this kit was the sequins mix and glittery enamel dots, they were perfect for the papers!

I didn’t think too much about the title, just XOXO! The acetate alpha from Pink Paislee included on the kit is one of my fave alphas ever 😀

And that’s all for today! Hope you liked the idea of this layout and the story behind it. have a lovely start of the week! 🙂

Student Of the Month: Elisabetta Margini

student of the month

Happy Saturday Clique Kits fans!  Today we have our March Guest Designer Elisabetta with us today sharing some more projects she created with the March kit J’adore!  This is Elisabetta’s last post with us this month but you can check her out on her YouTube channel and her blog for more inspiration!

Hi everyone! Elisabetta here to share with you two layouts that I created using the March J’adore Kit.

IMG_1459Lately I’ve been loving using very large photos and I find it challenging to create a layout with those kind of pictures.

IMG_1463IMG_1467IMG_1462one thing that I like a lot about this page are the enamel dots. I wanted to change the colors a little bit so I used nail polish!!

IMG_1455IMG_1457IMG_1461IMG_1466  IMG_1464I have to say that I really like the end result 🙂

For the second layout that I’m gonna show you now, I’ll have a process video up on my YouTube Channel soon!!

IMG_1500I had so much fun making this layout with the March Kit!

IMG_1505IMG_1504 IMG_1503 IMG_1502 IMG_1501I still have plenty of layouts to show to you that I made with this amazing kit so don’t forget to check my blog and my Youtube Channel out!! and don’t forget to let me know what you think of these two layouts! 🙂

Elisabetta thanks so much for joining us this month!  We have all enjoyed your work and we hope to see again on the Clique Kits blog!  Make sure to stop by Elisabetta’s channel and subscribe!  Thanks for stopping by today and we hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Creating a layout in a snap

Happy Friday ladies! Who’s ready for spring? I am so ready for winter to be over. It’s been so cold! Anyway, I have another quick and easy layout to share with you. And it gets even better. I’m going to share with you, step-by-step how to create this layout! I pretty much skipped the patterned papers with half of my projects this month because I loved the exclusive cards that came in the “J’Adore” Clique Kit too much, not to use them. What do you think? They really help with creating a layout in a snap, and I’m going to prove it to you.The first thing I did was grab the die cut cards that I wanted to use for my layout. Once I had them picked out, I moved them around the page until I was satisfied with the placement.

Then, I adhered the cards as shown onto white cardstock. I remembered that I had a few chipboard triangles leftover from my “Tailor Made” kit so I used one on my layout!

Since the edge of the layout looked a bit flat, I decided to create a fun border using my washi tape! Just cover all four corners of the cardstock with the washi tape and you’ve got yourself a fun border. So easy.

Then I used a foam square to adhere my badge.

Next, I adhered my photo, acrylic heart, word strips to the layout. The foam heart came with the “Tailor Made” kit. I used scissors to cut a small triangle from a die cut card and adhered it to the bottom leftside of the photo using a foam square.

And that’s it! Most of the time, the design of a layout takes the longest to create… once that’s done, the layout can be created in a snap!

One plus one

Blog Image_Yearbook

Hello everyone! Hope everything is well. Today I have a quick and easy layout to share with you using the March “J’Adore” kit. I LOVE the exclusive Die cut cards in this kit and the badges! Most of the time, when I scrap, I make sure there is written journaling on my layout, but occassionally, I’ll have that one photo in which I’m not sure what to say. This photo was from last summer, but it’s a favorite of mine so I wanted to scrap in on a non-summer layout.

As soon as I saw the die cut cards and the word stickers, I knew that I would just use the sentiments from the cards and stickers to tell my story! Seriously, aren’t they awesome? Thanks for taking the time to stop by today. I appreciate it!

Let’s go!

Hello everybody! Nicole here. This year, I’ve decided to switch things up a bit and give Project Life another go. I tried last spring and failed miserably. I’ve decided to stick with a 6″x8″ sized album to keep it simple. After completing my first double page spread, I’m thinking I need to go a little bigger, but time will tell.

If you haven’t seen the March kit yet, you’re in for a treat. There are lots of fun embellishments in this kit. I especially love the tiny text word strips and the acrylic shapes. Fun stuff! Oh and a girl can never have too many transparencies. I went to town with my embellishments for my first project life spread of the year. I thought they were perfect for the layout I had in mind.

I love the “Believe in yourself” word strip. It went perfectly for the theme of my project life spread. The acrylic numbers and transparency alphas really helps make a statement. Wouldn’t you agree.

I decided to punch a star shape from patterned paper and added it to my transparency frame. Love the look!

If you haven’t given project life a try, why not challenge yourself this year to give it a try. I am determined to stick with it this year! Thanks for stopping by today!

Smile more

Hello everyone. Today I have another fun layout to share with you using the March Clique Kit. For someone who’s not a big “Pink” person, I think I pulled it off with this layout. I combined the yellow polka dot transparency with some lime and black and white. Since there was enough pink and love showing up on this layout, I decided to pull out my Silhouette Portrait to cut a big star for my background. I am totally loving the cluster of embellishments on this layout! What can I say, I LOVE embellishments. I also took a scrap piece of patterned paper and punched a smaller star just to make it more interesting.

Here’s a little close up of my cluster of embellishments. I used two foam squares layered beneath the heart badge to make it pop up slightly higher than the heart veneer.
