Happy Anniversary Clique Kits!

Happy April first everyone! This month is Clique Kits second anniversary and we are celebrating another full year of success by our definition in every sense of the word-a thriving community of subscribers, followers, and interactive members who share and support one another, continued growth despite an ever changing craft and hobby industry, and the opportunity to make new friends every single day!

We are also taking a moment to reflect on our cherished memories, which is why we decided to name this kit Origins. The founding leadership team at Clique Kits met each other through the Memory Works community, a now defunct company owned by the same family who now owns and operates Simple Stories. We just love the Crowell family, one of many small business vendors we are so proud to work with who provide invaluable customer service.

The Life in Color line from Simple Stories is fresh and trendy and yet carries on the style and user-friendliness Simple Stories is known for. Added to it are some sunny yellow enamel hearts from Bella’s new Illustrated Faith line and our exclusive designed camera laser cut from mirrored acrylic brought to you by Color Cast Designs. We know you will be crafting with this kit all month long!

We have had so many new subscribers to our kits and blog, and we welcome everyone! Please make sure you are following our Facebook fan page, and that you join our Facebook group The Clique. We are also active on Instagram and Youtube! Do you Pin to Pinterest? We have community boards and are happy to send invites to pin. You can follow our Clique Kit boards where you will find lots of inspiration from other pinners especially our amazing Varsity Design team.

I have heard a rumor that there will be Golden Tickets included randomly in some lucky kit subscribers this month. The recipients of the golden tickets will be awarded a really great PRIZE! Details are to follow in one of our email newsletters. Make sure that you are on the mailing list for our email  newsletters to find out more!

Study Hall-The First Cut is the Hardest

StudyHall

Hello Clique Fans!  Erica popping in today to share a layout I created using the August 2015 kit Ambrosia!  Now let me be completely honest with you all!  I have not created anything in a very long time and I was a little afraid to even cut into the beautiful papers in this kit!  Finally I just pulled them all out and begin cutting strips with no plan or design in mind!  I did keep a few of the papers whole but for the most part I cut into all the papers!  Cutting into them and getting started is the hardest part!  I used a 12×12 white piece of cardstock for my background.  You can find white, black and kraft cardstock in the Clique Kits shop for a great price!  I wanted to play around with some ink and mists so I pulled out some green, yellow and pinks!  I applied some ink to some product packaging and sprayed with water, mushed it around together and then dabbed it on my white cardstock.  If you have not yet tried this technique I would love for you to give it a shot!  Check out the shop for great deals on paints, ink and mists HERE!

Once I had my inks and mist on my paper I added some gold thread!  Now all I do is set it down on my paper and adhere with some washi tape.  I like it wild and all over the place and to look a little messy!  Since I had cut most of the papers into strips and layering pieces all I needed to do was layer some up under my photo and embellish my layout!  I had so much fun with all the August kit add ons!  Using a kit makes creating layouts a breeze since all the products coordinate together.  You know it all goes great together so the guess work is done for you!  Here is a look at my completed layout!

I was able to create this layout in about 30 minutes once I had my papers all cut up into pieces!  Next time you find yourself without your mojo just starting cutting, get a little messy and just have fun!  Scrapbooking is a hobby we all love so no need to stress about getting it perfect!  Get the memories documented and have a great time doing it!  I hope you all enjoyed my layout today!  This is just what I needed to get my mojo back and I am now ready for my next project!  Enjoy your day!
