Field Notes- I <3 NY mini album

field-notes

Hey everyone!  Today I am sharing a little mini album that I made with the December “Wonderland” kit.  I was really inspired by the black and white elements in the kit.  I had been meaning to do a little mini of our trip to NYC last December, and although I scrapped a few of the photo from my trips, I wanted to put more of them together in a little book.

I was trying to mimic a kind of traveler’s notebook, and though this Bella Blvd acetate sheet would make a great cover for the album.

For my inside pages, which I wanted to be white, I was thinking of using just plain printer paper, but it was too thin to stand up the embellishing I wanted to do.  And white cardstock was too thick. While looking for some other papers, I had an “Ah-ha!” moment when I stumbled across a pack of plain white card envelopes.  So my album pages are made from envelopes.  I stitched down the envelope flaps (alternating the direction of the envelopes) and added the acetate cover on the front.  On the small envelope flaps, I glued some of the 3×4 and 4×6 cards that are exclusive to this kit and backed them with paper.

For my pages, I kept it real simple.  I added a few black splatters and some snips of patterned papers with phrases from the Pink Paislee Moonshine collection.  I punched some circles from the Bella Blvd paper and used them to write the location.  Finally, I added some black and white tabs to the edge of each page and my journaling as well.

Hey everyone! I know Yearbook usually revolves a bit around pocket scrapbooking, but instead I want to show you a way that you can use your pocket scrapbooking journal cards to create a standard 12 x 12 layout… with a little twist. 🙂

2016-10-3-2

For the base layout of my page I cut this gorgeous laser cut Amy Tangerine paper for the bottom, and a piece of pink floral paper from the Pinkfresh Studios Indigo Hills collection for the top. The pocket cards were cut out from a page of the Simple Stories Posh collection.

I really wanted to keep this layout super simple and highlight the insanely beautiful die cuts in the bottom paper so I decided to make my journaling hidden. I used the wood veneer clips to create tabs for my two end journal cards to fold, exposing my writing.

Fun right?! I decorated the backs of each card as well so there was never a moment not showing off the beauty in this awesome kit. This picture of my daughter was taken at a Tea Room during one of our special “Girl Days.” It was a very feminine day and I think it deserved a very feminine layout. 🙂 She was happy with how it turned out haha!

So how do you all use your pocket cards other than pocket journaling? Do you throw them on more traditional layouts? Use them on cards? I’d love to hear your ideas and don’t forget to check the kit out in it’s entirety HERE if you aren’t signed up already! 🙂

Much love CK friends! Until next time!

Xo, Stephanie

Yearbook: Friends

blog-image_yearbook

Hello Clique friends. Marcia here today with a layout to share with you that I created with the January Clique Kit featuring the fun Fancy Pants Designs Happy Place collection and plenty of Clique exclusives. I fell in love with the hedgehog PL card and the coordinating flair and knew I wanted to use them on a layout of one of my kids. I decided on this picture of my daughter with her favorite stuffed animal … Tigger. This is what I came up with.

Friends

Here is a close-up shot of the hedgehog and flair. I added a few die cut leaves along with the Fancy Pants ephemera die cuts and a bow I tied with the yellow twine included in the kit.

I love creating shakers with sequins. I die cut some hearts and a piece of vellum slightly larger, then sprinkled some sequins underneath. I carefully stitched around the edges to keep the sequins in place.

I hope I sparked some excitement for you and given you a few ideas of what to do with your January kit when it arrives. Thanks for stopping by today.

I adore clusters, Project Life cards, and white space which you can see all of those in this layout.  When I create I always start with a picture and usually a Project Life card that helps me tell the story.  I have created a process video to give you all a peek into the way that I create.  Enjoy!

And here are a few close-ups of the details…

Hi everybody. It’s Nicole here, wishing you a fabulous Wednesday! Welcome to the October Pep Rally. This month, we hope to inspire you with the “Funfetti” kit. It is chocked full of Pinkfresh Studio goodies that I think you will love. This kit practically scrapped itself. Seriously, I just LOVE it.

For our challenge this month, we went with an “Anything Goes” theme.

The Pep Rally, for those of you who are new to the Clique, is our monthly subscriber and design team blog share typically held the third week of the month and participants earn product credits-yes, free stuff to do what you love-who can beat that? It’s out with the old, in with the new time at Clique Kits when we (hopefully) have all killed our kit from the previous month and have lots to show off, and we start to chat and hype the excitement for the coming month’s kit. In other words, we party! We don’t leave out our guests-there is always a prize for a hopper who comments on each post and likes and shares on social media! Just leave a new comment for each like and share for a separate entry in the random drawing for this month’s prize. One lucky person will win this month’s Capture kit that is sold out! Get the word out and have your friends join our Pep Rally because they might end up with this gorgeous kit at their doorsteps!

Here’s today’s line up:

Feel free to hop in any order, if you get lost, you can always come back here to find your place. This month, I decided to play with the exclusive cut file and cards. I wanted to scrap Edward eating his yogurt at Sweet Frogs. The red cut file goes great with the Green from the photos with the pop of blue. As soon as I saw the “You’re Weird, I Like That” card, I knew what I was gonna use it for. Edward likes the weirdest stuff. He had cotton candy and chocolate yogurt with lots of candy and marsh mellows on this particular day. Seems gross to me, but whatever floats your boat…
