Geek Lab: Don’t give up

Hello CK friends! Maryám here to share a card using the June 2017 printables and some Clique Cuts that I designed this month for the shop.

For the base of the card I used white neenah cardstock. The cut file was cut with my Silhouette Cameo and I backed it up with a paper from Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.

On the center of the card I put two flowers from the printable sheet that I fussy cut with my scissors. As a title I used a word that says “don’t give up” and at the end I added some enamel dots.

Here are some close-ups to see more details:

I hope you liked my card and I can’t wait to see what you will create using the CK exclusives of this month.

Have a wonderful day friends!

Field Notes: Beautiful

Hey friends! It’s Maryám here and today I’m going to share with you a traveler’s notebook spread using the beautiful June 2017 printables designed by Sheryl Banares, and also some stuff from the shop.

On the right side of the spread I created a cluster of embellishments, and over the tags I put my journaling that I previously wrote with my typewriter.

Here are some details:

To embellish the cluster I added some butterflies, enamel dots, puffy stickers and some rubber shapes.

On the other side I put a big photo with a flower and tiny word from the printables on the top.

I had already used the photo of my spread in another layout, but I decided to print it again in a bigger version because I like that photo so much!

I hope you liked my project and don’t forget to use the AMAZING printables of this month, and don’t forget to check our shop to see more fun stuff.

Have a wonderful day!

Geek Lab- Clique Cuts

Have you checked out all the amazing cut files available in the Clique Kits store?  You can see them all HERE.

I saw these cute little butterflies, which were a subscriber exclusive, and I thought they would match well with the June kit, Aquarelle. This kit features Cocoa Vanilla Studio “Wild at Heart” collection, which also has quite a few butterflies.

I started by adding some mixed media to my background and using a stencil to spray some ink through a starburst pattern.  Then I outlined the starburst in yellow thread.

I cut the butterflies from white cardstock and then fussy cut a whole bunch of smaller butterflies from the patterned papers in the kit.  I decided not to back the die cut butterflies with paper so that the background could stand out more.

I layered a few labels for my journaling with a  large heart and  piece of exclusive flair.

I love that these products matched my photo and story so perfectly!  Hope you are enjoying the June it and be sure to check out the cut files in the store!

Geek Lab: Better Together

Hello Friends! I’m so happy to be back here at the Clique Kits blog. First of all I’m going to do a quick question, Did you see the cut files of this month? If you already saw them, I know you will think the same than me, they are just beautiful, especially the flowers cut file. I just couldn’t resist myself, so I created a layout using that cut file. Now, I’m going to show you the result of it.

For backing the flowers I used one of the Paige’s papers that came in the kit, and for the other strips I used the same paper, but back side of it.

I also used some of the stamps from the sponsor of the month Latina Crafter. They have a lot of beautiful stamps (in english and spanish), you should check their shop.

Here are some close-ups to see the details a bit better.

I hope you liked this layout, and if you have a Silhouette Cameo or any other cutting machine, you should use this cut file.

See you soon guys!

Geek Lab- April Cut Files

This month’s cut files are super fun to work with!  I used both the floral, and the phrase files on my page below with the April kit, “Jellybean”.

I loved the lines of these flowers, so I wanted them to stand out. I didn’t back them with paper and cut them from white cardstock so that they would contrast against the colorful background.

The flow of the font of the sripty title goes perfectly with the floral cut file.

The background paper is a gorgeous periwinkle ombre print.  I added some white gesso and pink and seafoam mists which I smooshed on the gesso.

I used the Pink Paislee paper in the kit (paper #14) that has the overlapping circles and cut them out and folded them in half.  I was originally going to make a banner from them, but I decided on just leaving them like little clusters on the page.

I did very little embellishing, only adding a few gold foiled accents and some enamel dots.  I wanted the colors and the cut files to be the star of the page.

You can watch my process from start to finish here:

Thanks for stopping by today!

Yearbook: Charmer

Blog Image_Yearbook

Hello everyone. Every year, since Edward was born, I have been creating yearly layouts for him. You can see them all on my personal blog. I think it will be neat when he gets older, he can flip through his albums and read about the things he enjoyed as a kid. Things like, what’s his favorite food, movie, toy, best friends, teacher’s name etc. I wish my mother had done this for me, but she didn’t and so I am doing it for my son because I think it’s important.

Most of the time, when I need to include a great deal of journaling on my layout, I will type up my journaling and print it on regular white cardstock paper. That way, I have more room to add a photo or two and some embellishments. I don’t know about you, but I love embellishments and I can’t create a layout with at least 5 or 6 embellishments. LOL

I am really excited about this month’s exclusive die cuts from Clique Kits! I have been wanting a “Wassup Dude?” and “Charmer” die cut for a while now and the clouds. This was the perfect kit for these adorable dies. Lacey did a great job. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful.

Art Studio: It’s messy and I love it!

artstudioheader

Hi everyone.  I don’t know about you, but I love this gorgeous paper by Fancy Pants Designs. It’s beautiful isn’t it? When I first started pushing papers around, I realized that I didn’t really want to cover this paper up that much. But I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it. So, I got out my stamps and Silhouette pens and started doodling and stamping all over the paper to make it more artsy. Have you seen these awesome stamps by Precious Remembrance Shop? I love them and we have some available in the shop!

After stamping the arrows and hearts onto the paper, I used a white silhouette pen to fill in the shapes to make them stand out more.

I used the scribble stamp image to make the flowers a little messier. I love it.

A little tip: When using black ink and the image doesn’t turn out clear, use a black marker to fill in the image.
