Study Hall- Folding Paper

What do you do when you have a piece of patterned paper and you love BOTH sides of it?   Well all I did was fold a corner over and was able to create an interesting design AND see both prints at the same time!

I like that the colors on this paper were boyish, and I thought that the blue polka dots would be a good contrast to the bright and colorful “watercolor” side of the paper.  I initially had the fold on the bottom and the photos on the patterned paper, but thought that the photos stood out better on their own in the corner on the white background.  (I also love that the colors in my photo go so well with the colors in the prints!)

For my embellishments, I also stuck with the same color palette and used some of the 3×4 cut aparts, the die cuts, and even pieces of this month’s exclusive printable.

And the gold foiled elements add the perfect sheen to the page, too!

You can watch how I created this page from start to finish here:

Hope you are enjoying working with your kits!

Yearbook-Instant Journal Cards

blog-image_yearbook

I met my mail lady in the yard, opened it within 10 seconds and started working with it 1 minute after that.  Yes, my Cliquers…..it is that FANTASTIC!

The colors matched so well with the last of my 2015 pictures (insert hang head in shame emoji here:), it was such a cinch to put together!

I have never done a Design Z layout so I thought it was about time to try!

It came with these Kaiser Art 2-sided journal card paper where I got this triangular and moon shaped card.

All I did was add a yellow plus sign from the Dear Lizzy ‘Hello’ Thickers and bam! Instant card.  Thicker hearts were also added to the door in the picture below.

By far my favorite piece of paper from the whole kit!

Exclusive Clique Kits designed paper is what I used for both journaling cards!

I had fun with with this 3×4 piece of exclusive paper by adding a whole bunch of word stickers from Pretty Little Studio and some enamel dots to finish it out!

This bottom card is a a hodge podge of Thickers, paper and end cuts.

What a fabulous kit this month!  I will definitely be using every last inch!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Text Messages

blog-image_yearbook

Hi, all! It’s Aliza here again with another layout using the fabulous August kit. This layout shares the story of how it came to be that we bought one ticket for my son to see Hamilton.  The whole conversation and decision occurred through a series of text messages, so I included one of those texts in my layout. I love taking screen shots of text messages as a way to remember conversations. Sometimes  they are funny or sweet, they capture relationships, and they tell stories.

img_7140

I converted the screen shot to black and white so it would better fit with my color scheme.

adeutsch_august2016_Hamilton

Once all the papers and photos were laid out, I chose some embellishments. Some of the ephemera and stickers helped to tie the design of the page together by adding touches of pink, blue, black, and gold around the page.
IMG_6215

And some embellishments helped to support the story, like this gift tag.

And, this might not be an exact quote, but I’m pretty sure he was thinking it.

Make a Bigger Printable

geeklab

Hi, it’s Aliza once again playing with the Rio kit.

Today I have a story of a little moment when my almost 18 year old son used his sandwich toothpicks to make himself some Wolverine claws. Since this guy is leaving home ridiculously soon, I think I needed to capture the part of him that is still a kid. This layout is also  a little prayer that he keeps that playful side as he moves on into adulthood. Sigh.

alizadeutsch_august2016_almost18

I don’t think I can write much more about this bittersweet topic, because it’s a bit raw right now. So, let’s just get a little geeky, and get back to the pretty paper part of scrapbooking. Once again, I fell in love with the dark blue shades in this kit. And I decided to use that blue patterned printable as part of my layout. The printable is 2×2 inches, and I needed a slightly larger image. I could have simply made it bigger. But in this case, I copied and pasted the image a few times to create a 4×4 inch pattern to use on my layout.

almost18 close up

I opened the image in Photoshop Elements.

Screenshot (33)

I copied the image by selecting the image layer, and then using Cntrl + Alt keys while I dragged the cursor along the image. This copied the image and allowed me to move it right next to the first one.

Screenshot (34)

I then locked those two layers together, and copied them again.

Screenshot (45)

I printed out the larger image, and cut the pieces that I needed. Super easy! And extraordinarily satisfying to be able to adapt the products fit my needs.

Locker Room: Little Moments

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hello Friends! Leigh here, with another take on one of the exclusive cut files for June. I love how Kim used this cut file yesterday, and love that we all can get such different looks with the same supplies!

LOdynskiJune2016LittleMomentsFullPage

Follow the step by step directions below to recreate this layout.

LOdynskiJune2016LittleMomentsStepone

Step One: Trace and resize the cut file, and place strategically on your page. I just kept resizing and moving them around until I liked the layout, and could imagine my photo nestled in at the bottom right of the page. Cut it out!

LOdynskiJune2016LittleMomentsStepTwo

Step Two: Stitch it! Pick three of the cuts to stitch as shown.

LOdynskiJune2016LittleMomentsStep3

Step Three: Back with different Elle’s Studio patterns from the gorgeous June kit, spacing out similar colors across the layout.

LOdynskiJune2016LittleMomentsStepFour

Step Four: Select embellishments, wood veneer, and punch fringe flowers from your June Clique Kits. Coordinate similar colors in the centers of all your cut files.

LOdynskiJune2016LittleMomentsFullPage

Step Five: Add your photo, tags, and title. I chose to use dimensional foam to make a pocket behind the photo to hide my journaling on the tag.

IMG_4498 copia

hello everyone! Elisabetta here today to show you one of my favorite layouts that I’ve created lately 🙂

IMG_4493

I love this month’s printables, especially the labels and the circles, so I decided to create a layout that was all about the LABELS! 🙂

IMG_4494IMG_4496

I cut them and placed them on the left side of the page with the picture and then I embellished the page using stickers, diecuts, alphas and tag that we got in the kit!

IMG_4499

how cute is this aqua flair? 🙂

IMG_4500

I love all the bright colors of the kit! they look great with my photo, that was taken back in March, as I was spending Easter holidays with my mom at our beach house. “Loco Squad” is the name of one of our favorite restaurants there, we love how they cook 😀

IMG_4501IMG_4502IMG_4503IMG_4504IMG_4505

don’t forget to download your monthly printables and cut files, I’m sure you’ll have a lot of fun with them! I really hope that you feel inspired to create beautiful layouts, thank you for stopping by, I’ll see you soon :*

Yearbook: Roma

blog-image_yearbook

IMG_4508 copia

Hello everyone! Elisabetta here to show you a pocket page I made to document a very special night in Rome: me and my friend Francesca went to a concert back in February where all of the biggest italian artists sang.  It was a big event and we were lucky to have the tickets! We really enjoyed it and we had so much fun!

IMG_4510

I took some pictures and even if they are dark I still wanted to include them in a pocket page to document the night! The colors of the May kit are perfect for this page. 🙂

IMG_4511

I used the exclusive cards, stickers, alphas, flairs and diecuts! I love the big 4×6 journaling card: journaling is a big part (for me) when I include a pocket page in my album! I had a lot of things to say about this night and that card had just the perfect space. 🙂

IMG_4512IMG_4513IMG_4514

I love this little embellishment that I created using a diecut, two stickers and an enamel dot. 😉

I really hope that you enjoyed this post, I’l see you very soon. 🙂

Geek Lab: You are my favorite mix

geeklab

Hello everyone! Donna here with another layout made with the awesome March Kit “Hell Yeah” featuring Goldie by 7 paper and CK exclusive papers and ephemera!

129205_orig

For my page, I used one of the cut files as word art incorporated to my photo.

First, open your editing software (I used Adobe Photoshop CS3). Then open the photo you wanted to use. Edit as usual (like converting to black and white etc like I did with my photo since the original colors will clash to my page) and resize according to your preferred photo size.

DonnaEspiritu-HellYeah-Tutorial01

Second, copy the photo to a bigger document with a bit of allowance to the bottom. That is where you will place the word art. Open the CK exclusive cut file. Drag the file to the photo.

DonnaEspiritu-HellYeah-Tutorial02

Third, add a bit of background color to the word art part. I chose a pale pink to complement the palette the kit. Then merge both files and save the document or print it to your preferred photo size.

DonnaEspiritu-HellYeah-Tutorial03

This is how it looked like used on my page

here’s a few more detailed shots of the page

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout03a

I think it’s really cute how it turned out!

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout03e

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout03b

I also used the gold crepe paper as lollipop flower and used the flair as accent

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout03c

I added color to the background with splatters of gelatos

That’s it for me today! Hope you liked my page.

Happy crafting,

Art Studio: Hello sweetheart

artstudioheader

Hello everyone! TGIF! Donna here sharing my page for today’s post using the March kit “Hell Yeah” featuring Goldie collection by 7 Paper.8372547_orig

This is the page I made.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02A

For the second time around, I used the circle cut out cut file as stencil to create the circles with pinkish colors and teeny tiny doodles around.

First, I brushed the gelato to the stencil. Remember this is paper and already used from previous layout so I was careful not to tear it apart.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02tut01

Using a piece of wet baby wipe, carefully spread out the colors to the background cardstock. I hold the edges while I do this and slowly, to avoid tearing the paper stencil apart.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02tut02

This is the result. You’ll have subtle markings left by rubbing the wet tissue over the stencil with gelato.donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02tut03

Then I doodled around the circles using a black micron pen.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02B

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02F

I cut strips of the papers with pinkish/peachy colors and added some with black and white patterns too. Curled the edges of the strips so they were kind of flared a bit. I used dimensional foam tapes to adhere the frame onto the photo.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02C

I also layered a couple of the fringed gold crepe paper.

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02D

donnaespiritu,-cliquekits,-march-kit,-hell-yeah,-goldie-7-paper,-layout02E

That’s it for me today, I hope you liked my page! Will come back in a few days for another layout using this awesome kit! Thanks for dropping by, hope you all have a nice weekend!

Happy crafting,

Study Hall: Using cards on a layout!

study-hall

IMG_4365

Hi eveyone! Elisabetta here today to show you a layout created with the beautiful March Kit! I always love the 3×4, 4×6 and 4×4 cards that are included in the kits and I try to find ways to include them in regular layouts. 🙂

IMG_4367

I love to place the cards on the layouts so that it kinda looks like a mood board. This way I can add a lot of embellishments all over the page and have a lot of fun! 🙂

IMG_4370

What do you think of this page design? How do you use the cards included in the kits?
