This Makes Me Smile

Hello Clique Kits fans! Today, I want to show you a double page made with the Swan Lake kit… and my first video (I promise, I’ll be better next time!).

Over the next months, I’d like to add more journaling to my layouts, because I feel I need to share lot of stories. This one is about my son who loves to dress with Halloween costumes all over the year.

I’ve used the black This Makes Me Smile paper, as a guide for my sketch. This phrase is so perfect for my picture. Then I used the yellow dot paper to complete my layout with a bright color. This is were I’ve placed my photo and as you will see in the video, I’ve layered quite a lot of ephemera from the kit to frame my photo.

I printed my journaling over only half a 8 1/2 x 11 page.
This allowed me to have enough space to add a reminder of the left papers. It’s also where I’ve decided to put the title vertically. I’ve played with the stripes of papers to complete the left page.

You cannot see it in the video, but the word “Memories” is made with stamps.
That was the perfect solution to complete my title with the word Gather from the Maggie Holmes Chipboard Collection.

Before adding some little drops of paint, I’ve colored the K from the This Makes Me Smile, as my son first name is Kerwan. And as a reminder, I’ve colored the word “memories” as well.mleluc-november-lockerroom5

Now time to watch the video. I hope you will enjoy it.

Some of you may be a little shocked by the “mistreatment” of the unicorn. I sincerely apologize for that!

Have a great day,

Hello everyone!
I am here today to present you a Halloween page made with the November Kit.mleluc-november-boo

Sometimes, we tend to forget we have lots of beautiful punches to create little details on our layouts. Today, I want to show you a way to integrate negatives of die cuts made with punches.
I’ve used a heart punch and a flower punch. I cut stripes of paper (1po or 2po wide) and then I cut lots of hearts and flowers, as you can see on the picture below.

Then, I aligned the created border on the black paper background. Look at how the design is highlighted. This creates a beautiful lace background to frame your picture. At the bottom of it, I added a blue border, this supports the hearts and flowers part and adds a visual interest to the whole layout. Then, I’ve layered several die cuts from the kit.

And don’t forget, buttons and sequins are perfect to add a final touch.

Have a wonderful day! Magali xxx

Locker Room: Awesome

blog-image_locker-room

Good morning scrappers! Have you been in our shop lately? There’s lots of goodies to be had. Like, Crate Paper, American Crafts and We R Memory Keepers to name a few. I just received a big box from Clique Kits last week and I felt like Christmas came early, but my wallet disagreed with me. LOL. Today I want to share this adorable layout with you. Edward is CRAZY about collecting these little Mine Craft dudes so I wanted to create a layout for him. I think I’ll buy a frame and hang it up in his room if he likes it.

Initially, I was going to grab a sketch and start scrapping, but then I wasn’t sure I wanted to do a sketch. I was all over the place. And then I looked over at the bowl of washi tapes on my desk and thought to myself, ” I really need to use those.” I started this layout by pulling a few washi tapes out of the bowl that would go with the color scheme of my layout. I just love the “Cool Kid” collection by Crate Paper. It is so perfect for scrapping your boys. My son is already trying to take my rubber embellishments from me so I just ordered another set with my add-ons for this month. I used several strips of washi to decorate my paper.

Then I used Picmonkey to create a collage of my photos. This is a free program if you just need to do basic editing.

Once I had my photos printed, I pulled out a few die cuts that I wanted to use.  I LOVE the tags and the “Toys Rule” cut-apart. I just started moving everything around until I was happy with the placement. At the last minute, I decided to create another collage of photos to tuck behind the top tags.

I added a few embellishments here and there. The rubber embellishment would not stay on the paper with a glue dot so I used a gel medium and it worked great! Here are a few close-ups. I can never add enamels right… They never look right, but they are there and wouldn’t come off without messing up the layout so I left them alone.
