Locker Room | Love card

Blog Image_Locker Room

Hi everyone,

Today, I want to show you a little card made with the Bee You Kit.
I absolutely wanted to create a Valentine card with this kit and here it is.

magalileluc_fb_card

As you can see, I’ve used layering to create dimension on the card, but I’ve also create a real volume with the central butterfly. It’s made it with the cork butterfly on which I’ve glued a paper butterfly cut in the Flock Hazelwood American Crafts paper. I think this paper was my favourite of the kit. There is so many way to use it.

An other way to use it is to add a beautiful background and that’s also what I did on the card.magalileluc_fb_card2

The little epoxy pink triangle is here to add a touch of colour above the butterfly and is perfectly assorted to the corrugated paper below the tag.

You may also have noticed that I slightly transform the tag from the Hazelwood paper. I’ve used the tag but I cut the lower part to add the beautiful border with white crosses on pink (also in the Hazelwood paper). I love that it created a type of ombre effect on the tag.

I hope this inspired you! I wish you a wonderful day!

Hello Friend {Geek Lab}

Blog Image_Geek LabHi friends,

Melissa here with you today and I’m sharing two fun cards using the printables from the February BEE You kit. I love that we have these fabulous printables to help complete our kits. They always go so well with the papers and colors of the kit. Most of all, I love how you can adapt them to work for your project.

The two cards I’m sharing showcase one of the printables and how I used Photoshop to make it work for my card. Here are the two cards that I made:

hellofriend1

I also created a process video that will walk you through how I pulled the image from the printables, into Photoshop, and added the text. I printed it off to use as a die cut type element on one card and then printed it onto another printable element for a card base.

To see all the details and steps, I encourage you to watch the video below.

I hope this video has helped you come up with some new ways and ideas for using printables on your cards and projects. The possibilities truly are endless!

Stay tuned because it’s almost time for the reveal of our March kit and boy is it a beauty!!!

Have a great day friends!

Yearbook – Remember This

13708352_10206587466700644_3123589168410663782_o

Hello, Clique friends! Enza here with a new layout created with the gorgeous February Bee You kit. I absolutely love the Hazelwood collection featured in the kit. Colors and patterns are very versatile and fun.

fullsizeoutput_3928

For this layout I wanted to focus on the story, on my girls, on their different personalities and similarities. I wanted my page to be soft, very feminine and sweet. I used the Lazy Daisy patterned paper as my background. The mint green color is delicate and dreamy.

egudor_february17th_yearbook

The whole layout was actually built around the pretty journaling card from the cut apart sheet. It kind of determined the tone of the whole page. I started building my layers with two white doilies disposed in a diagonal. Then, I used different patterned papers to back my pictures and created more dimension by adding foam tape underneath them. The 3×4 card with the purple camera and the Remember This sentiment added the perfect pop of color.

I also fussy cut the beautiful white flowers from the Hazel Gingham patterned paper and disposed them here and there around the pictures. I had to have at least one butterfly on my layout, of course! I am totally in love with them!

A few more stickers and embellishments, as well as two strips of patterned papers along the left side of the page, finished the layout.

I hope you felt inspired today to keep creating with the beautiful Bee You kit. You can find add-ons and exclusive printables in the Clique store.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a lovely day!

Wander often, wonder always

Hi there scrappy friends,

Zsoka here with you today with my first projects as a guest designer for Clique Kits! I’m super excited and happy to have been asked to contribute this month! Thank you guys for the opportunity!

The February kit, Bee You, is stunning! I feel so lucky that I can guest this month! I love blue and the colors in the Hazelwood collection are just fab! All the love for this kit!

For my first projects I picked out some blue and mint papers. My main design element on the layout is the wonderful CK exclusive cut file. First I tilted and cropped the cut file. I wanted to use different papers for the different words, so I separated Wander and Wonder from the rest. I cut the bigger part from white card stock and backed the two words with different patterned papers. I then cut the remaining two words separately from patterned papers.

I adhered the cut file on my background paper, placing Wander and Wonder in their original position. I hand stitched around these two to add some texture and interest. The flowers I only adhered in the middle and on the edge of the page. I love the dimension this adds.

Then I fussy cut these gorgeous flowers from another patterned paper, with some additional leaves, and adhered them with pop dots on top of my die cut flowers. Some leaves I added under the cut file, just to have different layers and create a more dimensional look.

20170122_150603finalbanner20170122_150606finalbanner20170122_150609finalbanner

I added some layers of tissue paper behind my photo and also tucked a tag and another card behind it. I wrote my journaling on this card. To draw attention to the journaling, I added two enamel shapes. I stamped the date, added some black splatters and done!

20170122_150620finalbanner20170122_150623finalbanner20170122_150636finalbanner

I also created a set of cards using the same color scheme. There’s a lovely cut apart sheet in the kit which I thought would be perfect for some cards! Really simple and quick (well…I myself generally spend more time on simple things because I never really feel like they are quite done ha!). I used some cork pieces, ephemera, enamel shapes, and fussy cut butterflies – all these I had left after creating all my layouts with the kit.

I hope you enjoyed my first projects and I could inspire you in one way or another! Thank you for stopping by today!

Ma mini Star

Hi Clique Kits fans,

Magali here today with you to share a double page mixing paint and paper. With paint, it’s easy to add an additional colour to your layout. Don’t hesitate to add a colour to the combo created with the papers from your kit. It allows you to add more diversity in your album. Here is my double layout.

magalileluc_january_maministar

To create this layout, I’ve cut the black dot paper 8 1/2 x 11 and then cut it in two parts. I’ve placed one of the section in the lower part of my left page, and the other one in the upper part of my right page.

mleluc_january_ministar2

Then, I’ve used gesso to add a beautiful texture at the edge of the paper. To add the indigo colour, I’ve used some drops of liquid ink, on which I’ve sprayed water to let the ink spread over the textured gesso.

When  you use water, you need to let the paper dry and then to place some books on it to avoid warping of the paper.

mleluc_january_ministar1

I’ve cut some butterflies and placed them in line. As you can see above, I’ve stamped a butterfly under the green little butterfly. I love the volume it gives to the die cut.  The word “Star” is cut in the corrugated paper of the kit. I’ve used letter dies to cut my title in it.

And here is a last picture of my layout…mleluc_january_ministar4

Any question about my process? Don’t hesitate to ask in the comments!
Have a wonderful week!

Growing Flowers | Stephanie Gold

field-notes

Hey friends! Stephanie here again with a Traveler’s Notebook layout for you today using the super incredible February Bee You Kit.

stephanie-field-notes

I was so thrilled that I finally had a wonderful way to use this coral colored corrugated paper!! I adore the texture in these types of papers. I lined my entire left side with it and topped it with my photo and a couple pieces of ephemera. I also put a few of the rub on butterflies on top of my photo and I LOVED how they blended with my picture.

img_3291

On my right side I layered a journal card with a few different pattern papers and a couple more pieces of ephemera. I used the journal card to write out a quote that has been speaking to my soul lately,

I am growing flowers

in the darkest parts of my heart,

for if light ever enters

it will know where to start.

– Noor Unnahar

Thank you so much for spending a little part of your day with me! Much love everyone!

Gypsy | Stephanie

geeklab

Hey loves! Stephanie Gold here today and I AM SO EXCITED to finally get to share a project with you made of the February Bee You Kit. I am seriously obsessed with this kit. So for today’s project I made scrapbook layout with a giant 8 x 10 photo of me and my sweet kitty the day I adopted her.

stephanie-geek-lab-1

My kitten’s name is Gypsy (doesn’t her sweet face just look like a little gypsy??) and this photo is of her and I in the car right before I went to surprise my kids. I kept this layout fairly simple and just let the photo be a major accent. I added some texture to it by hand stitching around the entire photo (I really need to fix my machine because this took me foreverrrrrrrr… but it was worth it lol).

stephanie-geek-lab-2

The butterflies are adhered in their centers so the wings could be bent up to look 3 dimensional and I used a bit of black paint splatter to bring in more of the black color. The strip at the bottom is actually the bottom strip of my background pattern paper that I sliced off and adhered. I loved the black and white since my photo is in black and white.

stephanie-geek-lab-3

Now this is a super creepy photo because I am eyeing you down so just ignore that part for a moment. 😉 I have completely fallen in love with the butterfly rub ons in this kit!!! Here you can see 2 of them that I placed right on top of my photograph. Isn’t that so cool?!

stephanie-geek-lab-4

I also finished my layout off with a teeny bit of journaling that I decided to put perpendicular to my page for even more added interest. So what do you think?? Are you ready to dive into your February kits and make some sweet Bee You magic?!! 🙂

Thank you so very much for stopping by!! Much love everyone!
