Give me Sugar! Layout by guest designer Rachel Lowe:

Hello everyone well this is my last share as a guest designer for Clique Kits and it has been such fun!

I have loved working with the stunning Malibu Kit!

IMG_5903.PNG

And here is my layout titled Give me Sugar! for obvious reasons!

I just adored the CK August exclusive ice cream cut file and just couldn’t resist using it.

I used the ombre striped paper from the main kit papers for the ice cream cut file and then used the sequin mix to finish them off.

IMG_5961

I loved the puffy stickers and I have used the quote puffy sticker in keeping with my theme….give me sugar!

I have foamed mounted my photo so I could tuck embellishments under it like the ice cream and popsicle die cuts. The hexagons are from the sticker sheet.

I added the emoji face die cuts, because who isn’t happy eating ice cream!

I have finished my layout off with sewing a border around my page and adding the cut file word Sweet (in white to keep my page soft).

Here are some close up photos for you:

I love scrapping ‘no people’ photos like this, it is important to remember such things as favourite foods, seasons, books etc as they are a sum of us!

Thank you so much for stopping by this month to check out my layouts and I hope they have inspired you in some way!

Guest Designer Rachel Lowe – Love Summer Layout:

I am so thrilled to be here as a guest designer for Clique Kits all the way from Australia!

When the Malibu kit arrived it was a swoon moment, how beautiful is it!

KIT2

I have created a 12 x 12 layout today.

IMG_5889.JPG

I love white on white and so I started with using this wonderful Clique cut file Love, which is the Valentine 2016 cut file.

I knew I wanted the theme of my layout to be Love Summer.

I then chose another Clique cut file which was the August 2016 cut file as it reminded me of a Hibiscus flower.  When I cut this I kept the centres of the leaves and then cut the petals from the patterned paper.

I wanted my Hibiscus cut file to have height so I foam taped the petals and leaves.

Now for the fun part, embellishing! I created a polaroid shaped mat for my photo and added some random machine sewing on it to add texture.

I hand cut the mermaid from the journal card paper and scattered the sequin mix around her.

I created a cluster embellishment to the left of my photo, layering for visual interest.

I added a sticker heart to the top of my page adding a word sticker Summer. Often my title is not prominent on my page but more of a subtle theme that is evident through out my layout.

Here are some close up photos for you:

I love simplicity and pretty, that being my aim of this layout. I hope you agree!

Thank you for joining me today and I will see you again soon.

Guest Designer Heather Doolittle|| These Happy Moments

Hi everyone! It’s Heather Doolittle back today with another page that I made using the June Aquarelle main scrapbook kit!

I’m such a sucker for floral patterned papers and just HAD to cut out some of the florals from the Wild at Heart papers in the kit this month. Although these florals don’t have definitive edges (they overlap somewhat), I selective trimmed out the pieces that I wanted to use for this layout. I made two focal clusters with the flowers and then made a third focal point with the title. I feel like these three clusters ‘nestle’ the photo, if you know what I mean. 🙂

I totally love these copper alphabet stickers from Pinkfresh Studio. They’re the perfect size for everything! And I love that there are so many in a pack! They will definitely stretch far on your projects.

The little typewritten words are from THIS set of printables. As you can see, I added one to the title as well. They’re so perfect.

I appreciate you stopping by to see what I made with this month’s Aquarelle kit!

Guest Contributor – Angie Pond

Happy Monday everyone!!  We have been so thankful this month to have our April Guest Contributor Angie Pond sharing so much inspiration with us!  Today I have another layout Angie created using the April kit!  Make sure to follow Angie on her blog to see more of her fabulous work!  Now lets get into her layout using the April kit and the fabulous printables designed by Creative Director Gia Lau!

For the April challenge, I drew inspiration from the different blocks of paper that are shown in the sketch. I used many of the beautiful papers from the Jelly Bean kit and treated each block of patterned paper almost like it’s own little layout.
I used one of the exclusive cut files under my photo. I cut it on white card stock and painted it with watercolors. Then I simply cut it apart and used it as an additional layer under the cute photo of my nephew on his first Easter.
Most of the embellishments on my layout are from the printable files that come with the kit each month. I adore that cute bunny and I even used the “Happy Easter” printable as my title.
The flags in the upper left block of my layout are from the printables as well and they make a great addition along with my journaling.
In the section where my title is, I hand cut a few clouds and used that printable doily shape almost like a sun. The pink cloud comes from one of the Bella Blvd. clips that came in the kit. I simply cut the clip part off and adhered it to my layout.
I did some stamping on the block with the pink polka dots. I used just some black ink and a circle outline stamp to add some more interest to the paper. I pair the word labels and the circles from the exclusive printables with a few enamel dots from the kit to complete that section of the layout.
Thank you Angie for another awesome project using the April 2017 Kit!!   I love all the details in your page and love how you used the exclusives!!  Here is a look at Angie’s completed layout!
Thank you all so much for stopping by today!  Please remember to leave Angie some love down below!  We still have a few April kits left in the shop right now and we also have a great kit sale going on!!  Have a wonderful day!

Rainy Day Fun – GD Lisa Lahiff

Hi!  I am so excited to be here on the Clique Kit Blog!!!  My name is Lisa Lahiff and I will be guest designing for the month of March, thanks to the amazing Clique Kit Team for having me!  When I opened my beautifully wrapped March Kit “Play” I squealed with delight.  This kit is packed with one of my favorite new lines called Little by Little by Shimelle.   When I saw the rain drop patterned paper I instantly knew what photos I had to document first…

rainydayfun

The vellum black numbers were perfect for drawing attention to my photos, and to help them stand out more from the busy background I used a white gel pen to add dashed lines outlining each one.

img_9125

The striped rainbow patterned paper created the perfect lines to help keep my thickers straight.  And the clouds found in the Little by Little Die Cut Shapes package played off of my title too!  With a few sequins I was able to create my own rain fun.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Make sure you check out the March Kit called Play you won’t want to miss getting your hands on this one!

Happy Crafting!

Let’s Hold Hands Always

student of the month

Hello everyone!  Erica here with you today to bring you one of our guest contributors!  Renee Aslette has been working with our Limited Edition Valentine Kit and we are so excited to share what she has created!  First lets get to know Renee a little better!

What is your favorite tool?

My favorite tool at the moment would have to be the We R Memory Keepers Typeset Typewriter. I love it! I got it for Christmas from my husband and I use it all the time.

Who is your favorite designer/paper company?

My favourite designer/paper company would have to be Cocoa Vanilla Studios. I love the colors, the embellishments and there has not been a release that I haven’t loved.

Where do you find inspiration?

My inspiration is usually my two boys, Jackson and Lucas. I love to create layouts using their photo’s. I do like to create by having a whole collection on my desk and I just go from there.

When you scrap do you listen to music, watch tv or need complete quiet?

I am very fortunate to have a scrap room in the house. I have Pandora on my computer and I always listen to music while I am creating. One Direction is one of the channels I created on my Pandora Station but don’t tell anyone!

How long have you been scrapping and one thing you love about it?

I have been scrapbooking for approximately 9 years. I love the people I get to meet and connect with along the way. I love that I can just create for me. I find it to be my little piece of heaven. I feel a bit lost if I haven’t done anything for a couple of weeks.

Thanks Renee for sharing a little bit about yourself with us!  Now lets get to the beautiful project for today!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!!

I am so excited to be a Guest Contributor with you this month.

I was very fortunate to be designing with The January Kit – Hey Sugar and the Limited Edition Valentine’s Kit which has since Sold Out.

This is a layout I created by using various patterned papers from the Kit and just having some fun with them. Cutting and tearing to create this layout.

lets-hold-hands-always

Here are some close-ups:

img_4171

How awesome is this brush letter sticker title from Crate Paper. As soon as I had seen that title in the kit, I knew exactly which photo I would use.

img_4172

I cut strips of paper from the January Kit – Hey Sugar.  The gold hearts are from the same kit, it was the specialty vellum.  I fussy cut the hearts out to use one their own. The crosses were from the Puffy Stickers from the Fancy Pants – Joy Parade Collection.

I cut thin strips of paper from the kit and layered them to create the effect across the page.

img_4173

I just love the puffy stickers!!

img_4174

My journaling says, “I remember my mum and dad holding hands.  I loved seeing it.  Now I get to hold your hands anytime I like.”

The photo is from our wedding day.

Thank you so much for stopping by to get to know me a little better.

I have loved being a part of the Clique Kits Team for the month.

Wander often, wonder always

Hi there scrappy friends,

Zsoka here with you today with my first projects as a guest designer for Clique Kits! I’m super excited and happy to have been asked to contribute this month! Thank you guys for the opportunity!

The February kit, Bee You, is stunning! I feel so lucky that I can guest this month! I love blue and the colors in the Hazelwood collection are just fab! All the love for this kit!

For my first projects I picked out some blue and mint papers. My main design element on the layout is the wonderful CK exclusive cut file. First I tilted and cropped the cut file. I wanted to use different papers for the different words, so I separated Wander and Wonder from the rest. I cut the bigger part from white card stock and backed the two words with different patterned papers. I then cut the remaining two words separately from patterned papers.

20170122_150540finalbanner

I adhered the cut file on my background paper, placing Wander and Wonder in their original position. I hand stitched around these two to add some texture and interest. The flowers I only adhered in the middle and on the edge of the page. I love the dimension this adds.

20170122_150559finalbanner

Then I fussy cut these gorgeous flowers from another patterned paper, with some additional leaves, and adhered them with pop dots on top of my die cut flowers. Some leaves I added under the cut file, just to have different layers and create a more dimensional look.

20170122_150603finalbanner20170122_150606finalbanner20170122_150609finalbanner

I added some layers of tissue paper behind my photo and also tucked a tag and another card behind it. I wrote my journaling on this card. To draw attention to the journaling, I added two enamel shapes. I stamped the date, added some black splatters and done!

20170122_150620finalbanner20170122_150623finalbanner20170122_150636finalbanner

I also created a set of cards using the same color scheme. There’s a lovely cut apart sheet in the kit which I thought would be perfect for some cards! Really simple and quick (well…I myself generally spend more time on simple things because I never really feel like they are quite done ha!). I used some cork pieces, ephemera, enamel shapes, and fussy cut butterflies – all these I had left after creating all my layouts with the kit.

I hope you enjoyed my first projects and I could inspire you in one way or another! Thank you for stopping by today!
