Be Silly

Hey, Clique friends!! Guest Designer Angie back with you today to share another layout using the gorgeous April kit.

I used two super silly pictures of myself that I took using those crazy filters on Snapchat! Do you use Snapchat? I love those filters and always send crazy pictures of myself to my friends and family. Hey,  life is too short to be serious all the time! Have fun! Be silly! Do crazy things!! That is pretty much the synopsis of this layout!

How funny are those pictures?? Since my ‘beard’ in the pictures is pink, I decided on a fun color combo of yellow, pink, black and white! I also decided that I wanted to add a focal point of circles down the left side. I used that beautiful pink ombre paper from Pink Paislee to  punch out all of my pink circles. The yellow circles are from a Bella Blvd. paper and then I just used some black card stock from my stash for the black circles. I also mixed in that polka dot vellum that is in the kit.

Before placing all of the circles on my layout, I added some mixed media onto the background paper. I used a yellow gelato and just rubbed it into the paper using a baby wipe. I grabbed some paint from my stash and a large paintbrush and just added some swipes of paint. I love how you can see the brushstrokes in the paint. They add some great texture to the layout.

Once all of that was dry, I started layering the circles. I used mostly the pink circles with the other colors just to add some highlight and ‘pop’ to the page.

In the white spaces in between the circles, I used a little circle stamp and some black ink to add in a few more polka dots. I love how that continues the polka dot theme that is found on the vellum from the kit.

For my photos, I knew I wanted to use that black and white striped bag that some of the embellishments from the kit came in. I trimmed it down just a bit, added a doily and then placed my pictures right on top. I added some dimension to my photos by placing them  on some craft foam.  I love the black foam words that came in the kit. There were several words that worked great on my layout. I used three of them just scattered about on the page. The word ‘laugh’ ended up right onto of my photos. I mean how can you look at these photos and not laugh?!? 🙂  I added in the ‘she’s crafty’ flair and a cute bow from my stash. I also made a tag using that same ombre paper from Pink Paislee and added in some twine.

I used the Elle’s Studio alpha stickers from the kit to make my title. I outlined them using a black pen to make them stand out better. I added a foam heart from the Freckled Fawn embellishment pack and then punched out a pink heart to add to it.  My journaling is a just a little ‘note to self’ to remind me to have fun and do those ‘wild and crazy things’ and to basically just enjoy this life that I’ve been blessed with.

For the final touch to the layout, I decided to add in another shape among the circles, so I used all of the hot pink and black hexagon enamel shapes that are in the kit. I love how they look with the circles.

I hope you enjoyed this layout. Remember to take time to have fun and be silly!

April Guest Designer Angie Pond-Moment Captured

Hello Clique Kit friends and fans!! I’m Angie Pond and I’m thrilled to be the guest designer for the month of April!

I was so excited to see all of the beautiful products in the Jellybean kit. The kit has such pretty papers from Bella Blvd. and Pink Paislee, some amazing exclusive pocket cards as well as some great embellishments.

I was also so excited to be able to play with the cut files that Clique Kits offers. Subscribers to the kit get access to exclusive cut files and printables and then there are other cut files that can be purchased in the Clique Kits shop.

I decided to use the cut file “Moment Captured” as my title. This is a cut file that will be available for purchase in the Clique Kits store in April.  I cut the file on my Silhouette using some white American Crafts card stock from my stash.  I backed the word “captured” using the beautiful vellum from the kit. I inked the edges of the cut file and outlined it in black as well.

I chose the blue polka dot patterned paper from Bella Blvd. as my background paper. That paper is called “Believe.”  The pictures I used on this layout are of my sweet nephew, so I wanted to try to pull out the more masculine papers and embellishments. I wanted to add some more interest to that background paper so I decided to use a circle stamp and some black ink to add a few more circles.

The green paper that I used to mount my photos on is called “Magnifique” and it’s from Bella Blvd. as well. That beautiful gold foiled card is from the Bella Blvd. cut apart sheet called “Daily Details.” That gold foiling is just amazing and it’s scattered throughout this kit in the papers and embellishments. I used the b side of that “Magnifique” paper and a Fiskars scallop punch to create the scalloped border that runs under my photo area. I inked and outlined all the papers (except background paper) on this layout using black ink. Above my photos I used the paper aptly named “Make Time.” I love the repeating sentiment in the various colors and we should always make time for the things we love! Having small strips of those colorful papers above and below the pictures helps to tie the layout all together!

The circles under my title and in the bottom right were cut using the b side of the “Make Time” paper from Bella Blvd.

For the “XOXO” strip located on the bottom embellishment cluster, I simply used one of the cut apart cards and just trimmed one strip off. The polka dot heart is from the Bella Blvd. embellishments that come in the kit. I added a foam heart and some enamel dots from Freckled Fawn to complete that embellishment cluster.

I nestled in another embellishment cluster under the top of the t in my title, using a gold foiled heart, a foam heart and some more enamel dots.

My third embellishment cluster is located  to the bottom left of my title. Once again using some more of the wonderful embellishments from the kit. I added gold and black splatters in each area as well. IMG_1722

I love the clips that come in the kit and wanted to use one of them. Honestly, I struggle with using clips even though they are so adorable. I decided to tuck the clip under my photo instead of actually clipping it to the photo. There really are so many possibilities and ways to use these embellishments.

I hope this layout will inspire you to use the wonderful Jellybean kit and those amazing cut files to document your memories.
