I AM sharing my story

Hello everyone, it’s Danielle here with you today. This week it’s my turn for Clique into Summer with the I AM Gold kit. My version of I AM is I AM a traveler, as traveling is my biggest passion in life and I travel as much as my schedule allows me to. For the project I’m sharing here on the blog today, I documented the documenting…ok, that might need some explanation 🙂 I’m lucky to have a travel buddy who gets my scrapbooking hobby, who understands why I do it and why this is important to me. So you will never hear him complaining when I take picture # 263 of the same object while we’re traveling. He also takes pictures himself and sometimes I use his pictures in my albums, to document his point of view or how he is looking at things. When I got his pictures, I started to notice that he secretly takes pictures of me while I’m taking pictures. Those are not always the most flattering ones of me, but I actually really like these pics. It shows more than anything how I’m preserving memories and I noticed that over the years he took a whole bunch of them. So I decided these pics needed an album of their own.

I made this mini album that I binded with the WRMK Cinch on both the left and right side, so the pages open alternately to the left and right. On this first page you might wonder where I am…you can find me in the middle on the bridge.

Geek Lab – Dream to be Different

Hello Clique-fans, it’s Danielle here with you today! I have another layout made with the super gorgeous April Happy Everything kit to share with you. For this layout I used one of the exclusive cut files that came with this kit, I totally adore these clouds! I cut this one with the words ‘Dream to be different’ out on white cardstock.

 

Because my background paper already had a pink cloud in it, I wanted my cloud to match that color and used some watercolor on it. If you’re using watercolors, don’t make it too perfect. Not every piece has to be covered evenly, the different tones of color give you the ultimate watercolor effect!

 

This is how my layout turned out. I took this picture while cycling home from work. It was the first day this year we had some nice Spring weather and a coat was not needed. These moments make me so happy!

Yearbook – You may say I’m a dreamer

Hello everyone, it’s Danielle here with you today. I don’t make pocket pages or document in a project life style, but I’m showing you how I still love to use pocket page cards on my layouts. Many scrapbook collections have an assortment of these cards in their collections and you don’t necessarily have to use them for pocket pages.

For today’s layout I used 6 of the Pinkfresh Studio Up in the Clouds cards that came with the April Happy Everything kit and used them for my background. I covered the left half of my page up with them and used half of one of the beautiful papers for the right half of my layout. The cards are so gorgeous that it doesn’t need much more embellishing, so most of the embellishments and the pictures are on the right half. I love the card with ‘You may say I’m a dreamer’ and decided that this would be the title of my layout.

Locker room – mini album Work it

 

Hello Clique-fans! It’s Danielle here with you today from the Locker Room with a mini album. Since a couple weeks I’m doing a 12 week workout program and to have a good sight on the progress I’m making, I take pictures every two weeks and do all kinds of measurements. To keep things a little more fun, I decided to make a mini album. On every left page I write down the measurements and add the pictures on the right pages. I hope you understand that I covered the pictures up a bit, as I don’t feel the need to have pics of me in underwear on the world wide web 😉

I started making the pages by stamping on white cardstock with a 4×6 inch notebook background stamp. I’m not the best stamper in the world, so I found it easier to stamp first and then cutting the pages.

For the cover and the pages where the photos will be placed I cut 5×3.5 inch pieces of one of the gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio papers from the April Happy Everything kit and stitched around the edges before adding them to the white cardstock. I’m keeping the pages kinda clean, so not too much of embellishments. At least there are some of the Cosmo Cricket black word strips from the March kit on each page, I think they work perfect with these colors. On the cover I used the Pinkfresh Studio alpha, rub-ons and one of the ephemera pieces.

Every two weeks I take two pictures, one from the front and one from the side. With the Pic Stitch app I make them to one picture, this app has a ton of collages and works very easily! You will also notice a gap of 4 weeks in the album. In April I will be traveling, so I will skip the pictures and measurements once. Fingers crossed that I can keep up with the exercises while traveling…:-)

Geek Lab – Up in the Clouds

Hello everyone, it’s Danielle here with you today from the geek lab. I have been playing with the clouds cut file and I would like to show you how I used this one. First I cut it with white cardstock and picked my background paper.

 

I wanted to cover up the solid clouds with with the Webster’s Pages Beautiful Chic vellum. So I traced them with a pencil and cut them out.

I used glue dots to adhere the vellum to the cardstock clouds and this is what it looks like when it’s finished.

I’m so in love with this Pinkfresh Studio collection and I knew right away that I wanted to use this picture for it. It’s taken in Yosemite National Park where I felt like being up in the clouds.

Make beautiful things & enjoy it

Hello everyone, it’s Danielle here with you today and I’m sharing my first layout with the April Happy Everything kit. I’m so super excited about this month, celebrating Clique Kits’ first anniversary! It has been an amazing first year with even more amazing kits each and every month. It’s feels like such an honor to have been here from the very first month.

This month’s kit is filled with the super cute Pinkfresh Studio Up in the Clouds collection, which I love so much. The patterns are so unique and it has the most beautiful colors.

For this layout I used a picture of my daily amount of fruit, that I use for my green smoothies. The big pineapple in the middle of the photo was the perfect way to go with these adorable pineapple flair buttons. Layering is one of my favorite techniques, so that’s what I did on this layout. I used some pieces of the beautiful papers, some journaling cards and some printables that came with this kit as well.

Happy Day

Hello everyone, it’s Danielle here with you today. I have made a card with the January Tailor Made kit. I don’t make cards very often, but sometimes I get triggered by a piece of paper or an embellishment that would be perfect to make a card with.

I had that happening with this ‘Happy Day’ part of one of the papers in the kit, so that became the base of my card. I added it to a white cardstock background and stitched some of the grey strips with hearts on it. I cut out a frame of the paper with the red dots and hearts and added it with 3D tape to create some depth. As a finishing touch I added one of the clear stickers and two enamel heart shapes.

Yearbook – The good life of 2014

 

Hi everyone, it’s Danielle here with you today! It was my turn to create a project for the Yearbook post and one of the papers from the January Tailor Made kit inspired me to create a layout with my favorite pictures from 2014. It’s this paper from Amy Tangerine’s Stitched collection.

I printed 10 pictures with my Instax printer. A fun feature of the app that works with this printer, is that you can add text to your pictures before you print it. I kept the design of my layout very clean and simple to keep the focus on the many pictures.

I labeled each photo with one of the transparent stickers.

I love having the entire year scrapped on just one layout!

Geek Lab – Enjoy the Snow

Hello Clique-fans! It’s Danielle here today with a layout from the Geek Lab. For this layout I wanted to create a snow background to match the picture. I used one of the stitch cut files (picture on the left) that came with the January Tailor Made kit and re-arranged the circles to create a snow look (picture on the right).

I cut this out on a sheet of cardstock and used it as a mask with white spray ink on kraft cardstock. Very easy and simple to create snow on your background.

Here is the layout I’ve made with this background. As you can see, the Amy Tangerine Stitched collection can be used for any kind of subject, that’s why I love it so much!

Art Studio – Love us

Hello everyone, it’s Danielle here today from the Art Studio. You won’t see me a lot making my hands dirty and using lots of mixed media, but I sneaked into the Art Studio today and going a little nuts with gold embossing powder.

I started cutting the triangle background cut file, that comes with the January Tailor Made kit, full size on a 12″ by 12″ cardstock and used it as a mask for this layout. I randomly ‘colored’ some triangles with my Versamark pen, covered it with gold embossing powder and heated it with my heat tool. It is such a fun way to make your own backgrounds and the gold is such a perfect match to the January kit!.

And here is the layout I’ve made with this background. This picture is taken on Christmas Day, during family brunch. I always have the most fun with the kids and I like to spend a lot of time with them in the cookie corner to bake cookies.
