Geek Lab: JAXA

blog-image_geek-labHello everyone! Cassandra here today to share a layout I did using the June Kit filled with Crate Paper products!  This background of my layout was made using one of the cut files on Silhouette Cameo. Have you ever had the problem of your cameo not cutting properly or not too sure which settings to go for?

apAj649Ue-Z4fDsnnO5kl2Gltx_LA2sG6pH2yd01M6sAfter many trials and errors, I figured out to get a perfect cut, you need to first have a smooth cardstock to reduce any possible resistance from the surface. I like to choose 250gsm smooth cardstock so that it won’t be too flimsy as an embellishment. Then, I like to choose blade 5 (but that would depend entirely on how frequent you use the Cameo) for a nice cut. Hope these few tips helped! Please also share with me some of your other Cameo tips!

So happy I had the opportunity to tour around Japan’s equivalent of NASA training facilities!:D Learnt a lot as well!

Cliquekits_Cassandra ChenAs there were simply too many photos to scrap with, I made an album to keep the extra photos!IMG_4341And I added magnetic tape for my album cover and it closes tightly together! Awesome!IMG_4342

IMG_4344I added arrow tabs from the Crate Paper collection so I can pull out the tabs easily and added journaling at the back side of the photos!IMG_4345Thanks for dropping by and hope you have enjoyed my tips and project! Till my next update, take care and God Bless!

Study Hall: Japan’s Cherry Blossom

study-hall1Hello everyone! Cassandra here today to share a layout I did using the April Kit filled with Pink Fresh Studio products! I recently came back from Japan in April and got the chance to view the cherry blossom! Ain’t it beautiful?! Now I can truly understand why the Japanese love it so much! It’s such a pity that they only bloom for about two weeks each year!

Pink Fresh Studio_Cassandra Chen

I wanted to show the transition from full bloom to withering so I stacked the photos in a column to create more visual interest. Then I added and layered some yummy Pink Fresh Studio products at the top right and left the rest of the space for journalling!

I hope you liked my project and thanks for stopping by! Till my next update, take care and God Bless!

Clique Into the Holidays – DIY Polaroid Album

Heyyie! Good day to all! Cassandra here and I am so excited to share my DIY Polaroid album using supplies from the Clique into the Holidays kit!CassandraChen_Cliqueintotheholidays

Here are the supplies needed (the supplies are all taken from the Clique Into the Holidays kit):CassandraChen_Cliqueintotheholidays

Here’s the step by step instructions:CassandraChen_Cliqueintotheholidays

1. Choose the pattern paper you like as the front cover and measure your cardboard to the dimension as shown.

2. Fold the pattern paper towards the cardboard as shown.

3. Glue them together. (It’s fine that it looks quite ugly at the sides because it will eventually be covered by your accordion album.

4. Fold it inwards so that it looks like a book.

5. Then with a 12×4″ cardstock, leave 3×4″ on each end and fold it into an accordion style 0.5″ thick (The image shown is just for illustration and not the actual accordion used in the album).

6. Choose a variety of 3×4″ cards and glue on one side of the accordian.

7&8. Then glue around the back as shown so that we can create a pocket and slip in the Polaroid photos later.

CassandraChen_CliqueintotheholidaysHope you find this tutorial useful to create your very own 3×4″ Polaroid album!:D

Thanks so much for dropping by! Till my next update, take care and God Bless!:D

Study Hall: Home is where the heart is!

Greetings from sunny Singapore! Cassandra here with my very first Clique Kits post!:D Have you received the October’s kit yet?! What a great kit we have this month, stocked with lots of Basic grey second city patterned papers! Here’s what i did with it!:D

Home is where the heart is

If you do not know, this is Singapore’s skyline! HAHA! With a population of 5.5 million in 271 square kilometres of space, this is no joke! But I guess I am already used to it and this is truly a place I call home!

I cut out the silhouette of buildings from Ashland patterned paper and layered them up with foam dots to give it more dimension and added sequins to mimic the night sky.

Lastly, I printed and cut out some journaling!

Remember to start pre-ordering your kits to avoid disappointment!:D And upload your layouts to the forum! We would love to see them! Thanks so much for dropping by! Till my next update, take care and God bless!
