August Kickoff

Hi friends! It’s Gia here to kickoff a new month in the Clique and I have to confess the August kit is one of my favorite kits of the year. The fresh colors and patterns in the Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss collection and all of the August add ons contain some of the trendiest elements this year- pineapples and fruit slices and flamingos-plus lots of gold highlights!

The August Kit Ambrosia will start shipping tomorrow! Wow! Get ready to have a great time with this kit and don’t forget to sign up for the Pep Rally if you are a blogger! This month we have another special event happening- the Clique into Color Online Crop Event! We held an online crop for National Scrapbooking Day this year and we not only had so much fun, we received feedback from the Clique (that’s you guys) that we should hold online crops more often. So, we decided to team up with Bella Blvd to create a wonderful kit just for this weekend event. Join us next weekend-that is starting on August 7th on Facebook. The details are here. You do not need a kit to participate and there will be challenges, ideas, inspiration, interactive fun, and giveaways all weekend with our Varsity Design Team, subscribers, and community. The theme of this layout is documenting the challenges I faced recently, and the positive things that came out of what seemed to be mostly hard times! I wanted to make a special handmade embellishment for this layout. This is what I made:

To create this lemon with the words stamped in it I used some air dry clay to mold a lemon by hand. Then I used some cookie stamps to press my words. I misted and stamped the color on to it to give it the golden yellow and green colors as illustrated here:
